About the Role

As a Project Worker, you will provide essential guidance and support to fostering services, helping them implement and sustain the Mockingbird model. You will work closely with key stakeholders, delivering training, offering ongoing support, and ensuring quality assurance. This role is home-based but requires extensive travel and occasional overnight stays within the UK.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting fostering services – Providing training, guidance, and quality assurance to partners implementing the Mockingbird model.

Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our prison-based reading and numeracy programme, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. 

This role will be prison based. The Role

Managing an existing team, you'll be responsible for delivering the Community Investment and Partnership programme across localities, identifying opportunities for fundraising and programme development, building new partnerships and delivering social impact. Key responsibilities include:

MAIN DUTIES

1.Being first point of contact for new business client enquiries, responding to messages from new clients and scheduling sales consultations with prospective clients. This includes acting on new referrals for paid service consultations within 24 hours, gaining the client's trust, identifying and advising on the best service to meet the client’s needs from initial assessment of their situation, and promoting confidence in Beacon and our ability to meet the client’s needs.

2.Liaising with relevant health trusts, care providers and other organisations to support the facilitation of assessments, as part of a new business request.

3.       Providing operational support to Business Development Manager, including taking telephone enquiries from clients and arranging sales consultations. Supporting the Business Development Manager with sales consultations during holidays and at peak periods.

4.Drafting and sending detailed estimates to prospective clients following initial consultations and following up to close the sale.

5.Establishing a rapport with prospective clients, utilising Beacon’s reputation within the industry to generate business and maintaining excellent communication throughout the sales journey.

6.Managing the case allocation process including responsibility for ensuring cases are allocated in a timely way according to case deadlines.

7.Generating and sending out contracts and associated paperwork, and processing completed contracts for clients engaging in a paid service. Liaising with caseworkers for a smooth handover of the new case, ensuring that expectations are met and key deadlines understood by the caseworker.

8.Maintaining good communication with colleagues in the Information and Advice team to facilitate the smooth transfer of prospective clients from an advice call to a paid service consultation.

9.To keep relevant and sufficiently detailed case records following each client contact, ensuring that all client information is kept up to date in line with Beacon’s systems and procedures, including data protection policies. 

10.Keeping sales data software up to date and producing monthly sales reports for Managing Director.

11.Responsible for the effective operation of client administrative procedures including operating and maintaining database and filing systems.

12.Arranging for the safe and secure transportation of sensitive client files and medical records for caseworkers and clients.

13.Attending line management, supervision and team meetings as appropriate.

14.Provide organisational, administrative and secretarial support to the sales and casework teams as required.

Background Information

NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) is the name given to a package of care that some people need to receive due to disability, accident or illness. People who are eligible for CHC have the full cost of their care and residential accommodation funded by the NHS. This relieves families of sometimes astronomical care bills.

This Suicide Liaison Manager will manage a team of Suicide Liaison Workers, a CYP Counsellor and work with a team of volunteers who deliver support to adults, children and young people who are bereaved by suicide in Hampshire, Southampton, Portsmouth, and the Isle of Wight. Our partner is seeking an Interim Director of Finance to offer a 12 month maternity cover. Your appointment will come at an interesting time, and your leadership will support their expansion plans and new projects, whilst leading on business as usual activities.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and implementation of the organisation’s scale and income-generation strategy. This includes developing flexible cost models, developing budgets for pilot projects and new projects, and identifying alternate funding opportunities.
• Lead in the development of the organisational wide budget, and budgets for donor/funder proposals.
• Provide oversight on the organisation’s systems, controls, procedures and policies; ensuring these are robust and strengthening them as required.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance function, and the production of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for the management team, donors and the board.  
• Lead on full grants cycle management from developing budgets for proposals, grants management and compliance, and reporting. This also includes supporting country offices and implementing partners in strengthening their processes and controls, and grants requirements.
• Lead in the preparation of statutory accounts for the UK and overseas entities; and lead in the organisational and project audits.

Requirements

• Qualified accountant with at least 5 years post qualification experience. Finance leader, with a strong all-round technical background in developing and strengthening controls, financial accounting, management accounting & reporting, forecasting/modelling and offering financial advisory support to the senior leadership team and board of trustees.
• Experience in managing a complex multi-currency, muti-year, multi-country grants portfolio and in fund accounting for charities.
• Experience of leading the finance function of a charity working internationally.
• Advanced MSExcel skills, including a high proficiency in financial modelling.
• Wiling to be hands on, working effectively with staff based in overseas and offering guidance and mentoring as required.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written) catering to a range of finance and non-finance audiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of the SGN Safe and Warm programme at Sue Ryder working collaboratively across the charity with colleagues in Healthcare, Retail, Marcomms and Fundraising.

The Role
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer you will project manager this new programme that aims to raise awareness of fuel poverty and its impact on people who are critically ill or grieving and provide over 5000 people in the Southeast of England with information and support relating to fuel poverty, CO safety and the Priorities Services Register.
You will provide inspirational leadership to the project group and key staff, driving the delivery of this new partnership according to the contract with SGN, achieving the outcomes set out by SGN, and ensuring monthly reporting is accurate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project manage and drive delivery of the SGN Safe and Warm programme to ensure delivery is on track, highlight issues and work with colleagues to find solutions
• Willing and able to travel within the project’s footprint area to visit retail stores and service locations.
• Attend SGN partnership meetings to strengthen relationships
• Network with partner organisations involved in the programme
• Explore opportunities for cross-referral and collaboration to enhance the programme’s impact
• Facilitate and administrate (where needed) steering group and programme meetings
• Prepare monthly outcome reports in accordance with the funders format and qualitative and case study material
• Keep all relevant documentation and reports up to date and accessible to stakeholders including managing access and content
• Work closely with the Corporate Partnerships team to help develop the relationship with SGN
• Line manages the Programme Coordinator

• Highly developed project management skills, ideally gained within the not-for-profit or energy sectors

In this role, you will oversee the performance of Personal Support Services across England, ensuring high standards of care, compliance with regulatory and quality requirements, and continuous service improvement.

You'll lead financial management and forecasting to ensure sustainability, negotiate with commissioners to secure funding, and implement cost-efficiency measures. You'll also develop commercial plans to align service performance with financial targets and drive sustainable growth.

Innovation and digital transformation will be key, as you lead the integration of new technologies to enhance service delivery and efficiency. Additionally, you'll manage data strategy, governance, and oversee a Data Analyst to provide actionable insights.

• Proven senior leadership experience in the heath and social care sector, ideally within learning disability or personal support services.

• A track record of driving performance improvement and efficiency initiatives while maintaining service quality.
• Expertise in data strategy, analytics, and governance, with experience in preparing and presenting reports to senior stakeholders.
• Knowledge of digital transformation and assistive technology, with experience leading technology-driven service improvements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working with external partners and regulators.
• A deep understanding of the needs and challenges faced by individuals with learning disabilities, with a commitment to person-centred support.

Job Title: Deputy Service Manager

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Deputy Service Manager, supporting a high performing team to provide high quality, trauma informed support to victim/survivors of Domestic Abuse and their children, living in our safe accommodation. The deputy manager will contribute to the management of our dispersed accommodation service, in line with Refuge’s policies and procedures and quality management system.

The post holder will provide line management and support to staff, mainly Floating Support Workers. This will include providing supervision on complex casework issues such as child protection, overseeing operational emergencies and ensuring high standards of housing management. 

Working closely with the Service Manager to ensure that contractual and other funding requirements are met fully, and that Refuge’s high-quality standards are maintained, the role may involve visiting potential sites and contributing to the establishment of new services in conjunction with the development team. The job involves working closely with staff that supports victim/survivors of Domestic Abuse in crisis using our services.

As a member of the management team, the post holder will be required to participate in an out-of-hours rota management service.

There is also a requirement to have access to a vehicle, as regular travel across Warwickshire between properties will be required.

This post is restricted to women due to the nature of the role. The Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.

THE ROLE

This is an exciting time to join The Girls’ Network as we seek to expand our work inspiring and empowering girls from the least advantaged communities. As an experienced HR professional, you will be key in ensuring that we recruit and retain great people whilst attaining best practice in our HR policies and procedures.

The People and Culture Manager will provide professional HR strength to The Girls’ Network and be responsible for training and development plans for our team. You will lead on recruitment, retention and policies and oversee and enhance the full employee lifecycle. As a small charity the role will necessarily include some basic administration activities as well as taking a strategic view.

Key roles and responsibilities

Recruitment

You will oversee the recruitment and selection process for all new hires.

• Ensure consistent and appropriate Job Descriptions for all roles (working with the hiring managers)
• Draft job advert and advertise roles in the relevant places, with a regular review of which sites are working
• Review and respond to CVs and all recruitment related enquiries, producing a short list of suitable candidates with the hiring manager
• Coordinate interviews including assisting with interview panel selection and interview questions
• Provide or organise interview training and support where necessary, with a particular focus on ensuring diverse recruitment and being aware of unconscious bias during the interview
• Feedback to candidates as required

• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of anti-discriminatory legislation and best practice, keeping Senior Leadership Team informed
• Ensure a continued focus in this area in respect of staff recruitment and retention
• Enhance good relations and practices towards different minority groups by researching, applying and promoting diversity initiatives and sharing best practice across The Girls’ Network
• Work with all staff to ensure that EDI is considered in all aspects of our work

Performance management and development

• Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that promotes The Girls’ Network’s values, drives high performance and encourages good quality staff retention
• Ensure staff performance is in place and documented consistently for all staff
• Help colleagues identify and undertake training needs, helping to build a culture of continuous improvement
• Ensure a continued focus on well-being and support

Well-being

• Take the lead on employee Well-being, providing direction and support, as well as coordinating the team's activities
• Ensure compliance with working time directives, raising any workload issues appropriately with line managers
• Introduce appropriate initiatives periodically such as a focus on Mental Health awareness

General HR management

You are responsible for overseeing all general administration around the HR function including, but not limited to:

• Ensuring the HR database and software are up to date with employee records
• Processing staff changes appropriately
• Keeping Payroll aware of changes affecting employee pay on a timely basis
• Tracking and maintenance of staff leave records
• Managing absences (eg, sick leave, maternity leave) in accordance with TGN policy and legal requirements
• Handling employee relations including grievances, reporting to Senior Management and supporting decision making
• Managing provision of staff benefits, including recommendations to Senior Management for improvements
• Maintaining pay structure and leading salary banding review when required

Other duties

As a small charity with limited resources, all staff are expected to be flexible with their work and as such you may be required to undertake other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

Essential

• Proven, demonstrable experience in a similar role
• Experience of leading the recruitment process, in particular attracting diverse candidates
• Good working knowledge of UK HR laws and regulations, taking appropriate advice as required
• Skilled in supporting employees with performance management, in particular within a small charity where staff are based from home
• Knowledge of HR systems and databases
• Excellent written skills, including the production of policy and guidance documents
• Comfortable working with high degree of autonomy, often with limited budgets and to deadline
