JOB PURPOSE:

CVS Brent is looking to recruit its next Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation and manage the implementation of programmes that enhance the capacity of voluntary and community organisations in the borough of Brent.

The incoming CEO will play a crucial role in leading CVS Brent through a pivotal transition period with a focus on stabilising the organisation and laying the groundwork for meaningful organisational change. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of community engagement and impact in Brent.

CVS Brent is a dynamic and independent charity dedicated to supporting the diverse and vibrant voluntary sector in Brent. Through a range of services, including expert advice, professional training, and effective advocacy, we enable individuals and organisations in Brent to build the capacity necessary to meet the needs and aspirations of their communities through voluntary action. Located in an inner-city borough with a rich tradition of voluntary activity, we actively promote innovative approaches to working and foster relationships and partnerships between communities, local government, and health services.

This position is available on a pro-rata basis for 4-5 days.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Strategic Leadership and Execution: In collaboration with the Board, the CEO will define CVS Brent's strategic direction, goals, monitor progress, and set targets..
• Provide Visionary Leadership: Lead and support staff to enhance their contributions and ensure effective programme development and delivery.
• Manage Foundation Building and Change: Establish a strong foundation for future service growth. Navigate the organisation through transitions, ensuring stability and resilience.
• Engage with Stakeholders: Align CVS Brent's objectives with those of its stakeholders by collaborating with voluntary and community organisations, local authorities, and other partners to foster meaningful relationships.

• Represent CVS Brent publicly: Represent CVS Brent and nurture effective relationships across local, regional, and national networks. Actively seek opportunities to expand and promote CVS Brent's role and impact.

• Lead Policy and Advocacy Efforts: Including engagement with Brent Council, NHS regulators, and other decision-makers.

• Report to the Board of Trustees: Attend Board meetings and keep the Board informed about CVS Brent's progress, relevant matters, and the charity's mission. Provide timely and relevant information to aid the Board in fulfilling its duties. Alert the Board to any significant risks facing the charity.
• Ensure Robust Oversight: Uphold and implement CVS Brent's policies, procedures, and systems. Strive for operational excellence by adhering to established guidelines and continuously improving processes.
• Stay Informed and Proactive: Continuously monitor and stay updated on current social, economic, political, environmental, and other relevant trends. Use this knowledge to identify strategic development opportunities for CVS Brent and proactively adapt to changing circumstances.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

While no specific qualification is required, evidence of recent continuing professional development in areas such as management, leadership, or organisational culture is desired. Alternatively, equivalent work experience in a related field will be considered.

A leading cultural, social change organisation is looking for two Fellowship Growth and Partnerships Officers.

Location: London. Hybrid working (3 days office-based)

Salary: £30,000 – £32,000

As Fellowship Growth and Partnerships Officer you will be responsible for delivering the growth and development of the organisations network of over 31,000 Fellows in line with the overarching operational strategy. This involves promoting Fellowship internally and externally through events, presentations, responding to enquiries effectively, generating leads, and delivering digital recruitment campaigns.

One Fellowship Officer will focus on recruitment through internal and external events. The other will focus on communications and recruitment campaigns.

Key responsibilities include:

• Achieving individual and team recruitment targets by recruiting on a rolling basis suitable individuals for Fellowship.
• Leading on specific recruitment sources to bring in new Fellows, particularly through internal and external events, other engagement opportunities, and digital recruitment campaigns.

• Managing and delivering webinars and events for those interested in hearing more about the Fellowship, to convince them to join.
• Using the CRM system (Salesforce) and reporting software (Power-Bi) to track and monitor Fellowship recruitment, drawing on data to measure success of different approaches and make decisions about priorities.
• Working across multiple platforms (Salesforce, Eventbrite, Pardot, SharePoint) to coordinate Fellows and team administration, including keeping records up to date, running reports and ensuring a positive Fellowship.

The successful candidate will have experience in persuading others to take an action through one-to-one conversations and public speaking, whether in sales, marketing, campaigns or another capacity and will be comfortable working to targets, particularly relating to growth or income. Excellent networking skills and the ability to engage new people effectively at events is crucial, as is the ability to think creatively and be able to spot and take advantage of opportunities. Finally, you must have strong data inputting skills and confidence with a  broad range of IT systems/the ability to quickly pick up new systems and technology.

Tender is an arts charity working with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. Our programmes are safe, enjoyable, age-appropriate spaces where young people can engage with sensitive topics and “rehearse” for real-life scenarios. Participants are encouraged to be both consumers and producers of learning through script-work, role-play and creative media such as films and art. Throughout, we enable young people to explore their choices, rights and expectations in relationships and to recognise the early warning signs of abuse. 

We have grown rapidly in recent years, and now have an exciting and varied programme of work which is funded from a wide range of sources. We have long-standing, high-value relationships with organisations such as the Mayor’s Office, Esmée Fairbairn and Clifford Chance, and continue to grow our income from a range of supporters from trusts, foundations, corporates, individuals and community fundraisers.

We now have a need for two Development Officers to work closely with the Development Director and Development Manager in developing our trusts and foundations and statutory income streams, managing the accounts of existing supporters and generating income through securing new funding relationships. This role will involve a diverse range of work, from identifying prospects, creating compelling funding proposals, through to successfully managing relationships with funders.

Job description 

Following a restructure, DMI is looking to recruit a Grants Management Officer. This new role will provide a critical link between DMI’s national teams, HQ staff, and donors. It is an ideal role for somebody wanting to work in international development / public health as you will be exposed to a broad range of tasks and will work across all of DMI’s projects. You will also have exposure to DMI’s Africa Leadership Group, a new committee that aims to exploit the knowledge and experience of our national leadership. To succeed, you will need to be well-organised and a highly proficient writer (in English). You will also need to have the confidence and interpersonal skills to liaise independently with senior staff in the UK and in DMI’s national offices. 

More specifically, the Grant Management Officer role will include the following responsibilities: 

1. Under the direction of the Head of Operations, collating, revising, and submitting project reports to donors and other stakeholders. This will require regular collaboration with DMI’s national teams (who will typically draft the reports) and other staff at DMI HQ 

1. Assisting with the effective and efficient implementation of procurement processes across the organisation, ensuring that goods and services are acquired in accordance with DMI’s and donor’s requirements

We are seeking a Research Funding Officer (Research Impact) to work mainly on our Research Grant Programme. As part of our Research Funding team, you will support high quality and innovative research on the effects of diet, nutrition, physical activity, and body size on cancer prevention and survival, managing an international portfolio of projects and working closely with leading researchers around the world.

In addition to the Research Grant programme, you will have the opportunity to contribute to other Research Funding activities such as our Academy programme and work closely with colleagues across the Science department and with other departments such as PR & Editorial and Fundraising.

The Research Funding Officer (Research Impact) will work mainly on the post award phase (e.g. active monitoring of funded projects, liaison with our grant holders, supporting our Academy programme initiative and evaluation of the impact of our funded research).

You will have experience working in a fast-paced research environment, whether in academia or research administration/management. Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills are essential for engaging a diverse range of audiences. Additionally, you should possess a solid understanding of statistical analysis. A Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences or Nutrition is required, while a Master’s degree is preferred but not essential. An interest in science communication and social media is also desirable.

Please note, this is role is available on a permanent contract and available on a part-time basis (21.75 hours).  This role is remote with travel to the office in Cardiff, Wales for meetings. The salary for this role is £32,000-£37,000 FTE, plus Office at Home Allowance £312 per annum.

In this position, you will support the Senior Policy and Public Affairs Lead with the development and implementation of the organisation’s national influencing plan with a view to raising the profile and influence amongst policy stakeholders and decision-makers. You will conduct primary and secondary research to develop and be in support of policy priorities. You will produce reports on research findings and support with the delivery of events. You will co-ordinate influencing and campaigning activity. You will draft policy documents which include consultation responses, parliamentary debate briefings and summaries.
 
To be considered for this role you will have at least two years’ experience in a policy/research environment. You will have experience of public affairs campaigning. You will have experience of implementing public affairs plans and stakeholder mapping. You will be IT literate, with experience of using Microsoft Office and document management systems. You will have an understanding of parliamentary and legislative processes and knowledge of current social policy which relates to children and social policy.
 
You will have excellent communication skills and experience conversing with various stakeholders. You will have experience of preparing briefings, summaries and organising meetings/events/conferences. You will have strong time management skills and be able to work on your own initiative.
