What will the position involve?

The Senior Communications Officer at The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) will 

play a vital role in driving forward strategic communications and engagement at an exciting and ambitious time for the charity. 

You’ll play a key role in planning and delivering effective communications and engagement that bring key strategic projects to life and ensure their success. 

You’ll be a confident communicator with excellent organisational and project management skills, sound judgement, excellent writing skills and a passion for making a difference to young people’s lives from the moment you start.

The Role in Brief

To support this growth, we are seeking a proactive and organised Development and Communications Coordinator to join our team. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is an exciting opportunity for someone to hone their craft in both business development and communications while playing a key role in supporting Koreo’s expansion. This role is vital in managing the operational aspects of business development and communications, supporting the growth of Koreo’s brand visibility and narrative and expanding our network of prospective clients.

As Development and Communications Coordinator, you will:

• Business Development:

  • Identify and research funding opportunities, tenders, and potential new clients.

  • Manage Koreo’s tender and proposal database, ensuring submissions are tracked and outcomes recorded.

  • Assist in preparing proposals and tender responses, including drafting sections and coordinating inputs.

  • Conduct market and horizon scanning to identify trends and opportunities.

• Client Engagement and Campaigns:

  • Manage data on prospective clients using HubSpot (or similar CRM platforms).

  • Coordinate campaigns to engage clients and build Koreo’s client base.

  • Support the delivery of integrated campaigns promoting Koreo’s offers across portfolios.

• Brand and Communications:

  • Update and manage Koreo’s website, ensuring content is engaging and accurate.

  • Manage Koreo’s LinkedIn presence, including posting updates, engaging with followers, and monitoring performance.

  • Contribute to thought leadership content, such as blogs, articles, and reports, to support campaigns.

• Administrative and Operational Support:

  • Manage systems and processes related to business development and communications, including CRM updates and reporting.

  • Provide administrative support for tender responses, ensuring all documentation is complete and submitted on time.

  • Monitor and report on business development and communications activity, supporting the Managing Director with dashboards and data.

Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Legacy Manager with demonstrated experience, preferably within the charity sector or comparable commercial environment. The role will involve primarily working from home and must be situated in or near London to attend regular in person meetings with key staff.

Key responsibilities

Take responsibility for a portfolio of around 300 legacy pledgers in order to deepen relationships and offer excellent stewardship to ensure that legacy pledgers feel valued by STUK and their pledge is retained.
Act as the first point of contact for legacy enquiries, both internal and external, responding with authority, sensitivity and diplomacy, so that legacy enquirers and intenders choose to leave STUK a gift in their Will.
Plan and deliver a programme of marketing and advertising to promote legacy giving and grow our pipeline of legacy supporters. This will include contributing to campaign strategy development; producing marketing materials including newsletters; and consulting with the Head of Individual Giving re legacy mailings.
Undertake general legacy communications including developing a tangible legacy vision, make phone calls, arrange one to one meetings and write personal notes/letters.
Organise at least 2 – 3 legacy events per year including post-event follow-up.
Organise legacy stewardship activities such as recognition mechanisms.
Liaise with and oversee the administrative work of Legacy Link, our legacy administrators.
Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all legacy activity on Salesforce and in shared files.
Provide useful data insight and analysis producing regular statistical, qualitative and financial reports of legacy activity.
Manage in memoriam marketing.

Travel

There is limited but regular travel into London for regular team meetings as well as periodic travel as needed around the UK for meetings with legacy pledgers and to organise legacy events.

Required Education and Experience

5+ years of relevant experience with exposure to legacy marketing and liaison with legacy enquirers, considerers and pledgers preferred.
A proven history of generating significant growth in key legacy metrics such as numbers of legacy enquirers and pledgers.
Demonstrated success in developing substantive donor relationships and in supporting senior management and programme staff, to execute donor and engagement strategies.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with both management and donors.
Extremely detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management skills.
Able to take ownership of a process and to use problem solving skills to resolve issues.
Able to make sound decisions based on analysis, experience and judgment.
Able to function both independently and as part of a global team.
Familiar with the MS Office and donor management systems. Knowledge of Salesforce and First Class preferred.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, although an equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for this required level of education.

Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Philanthropy Manager with demonstrated experience, preferably within the charity sector or comparable commercial environment. The role will involve primarily working from home and must be situated in or near London to attend regular in person meetings with key staff.

Key responsibilities

Maintain a portfolio of 50 – 70 major donors and prospects by creating and implementing strategies for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors with the capacity to make 5 and low 6-figure annual gifts (bigger gifts would fall to the Vice President, International Development and UK Fundraising Director)
Conduct 75 to 100 meetings with donors and prospects annually through one-on-one meetings, site visits, and other types of meaningful contact.
Provide recommendations and assist in executing effective strategies to practice moves management and increase fundraising results.
Write and create customised proposals and presentations for major donors.
In coordination with the UK Fundraising Director, assist with developing projects that will enhance the major giving operations of the Development Department and support them by developing strategy briefs and leading preparation meetings.
Help produce cultivation and stewardship programs for prospects and major donors.
Organise at least two major donor events each year.
Organising research on major donors as well as conducting supplemental research.
Ensure all key administrative tasks for the philanthropy programme are taken care of.
Other duties as are appropriate for this role.

Travel

There is limited but regular travel into London for regular team meetings as well as travel as needed around the UK for meetings with major donors.

Required Education and Experience

5+ years of relevant experience with exposure to major gift donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship processes preferred.
A proven history of generating income in the £100,000’s and securing gifts of £25,000 or more.
Demonstrated success in developing substantive donor relationships and in supporting senior management, program staff, to execute donor and engagement strategies.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with both management and donors.

The Role

Koreo is looking for a Senior Business Development and Partnerships Manager to drive growth across our programmes, particularly Charityworks and 2027. These programmes aim to create a more diverse social change sector by placing young people from across the UK in 12-month work placements with nonprofit organisations, also known as host organisations. Alongside their work placements, participants take part in a year-long, ILM-certified leadership and development programme designed to accelerate their impact and future potential. 

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive individual who thrives in a hands-on sales and relationship management role. This person will be responsible for securing work placements for our candidates by engaging with both new and existing host organisations across the nonprofit and grant-making sectors. They must be skilled at maintaining relationships with long-standing partners while also driving new business to support the overall growth and success of our programmes. Each year we aim to secure 150 work placements for diverse young talent from across the UK. 

Working closely with the Director of Programmes and Managing Director, and line managing the Programme Marketing and Communications Manager and  Recruitment Coordinator, the Senior Business Development and Partnerships Manager, will play a key role in executing Koreo’s programmatic growth strategy. They will identify and cultivate new leads to build a strong prospect pipeline of host organisations, pitch to secure new partners and manage relationships with existing partners, while also overseeing the recruitment of participants into our programmes. 

This role is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong sales, partnership management, recruitment and/or business development experience who is passionate about building a more inclusive and impactful social sector.

Key Responsibilities

As Senior Business Development and Partnerships Manager, you will hold responsibility for:

• Strategy Development & Implementation: Working with Directors to articulate and implement business development strategies that support the growth of Koreo’s Programmes.

• Business Development: Cultivating new business leads, pitching our programmes to prospective clients and securing work placements for programme participants, while growing the network of non-profit organisations engaged in our programmes.

• Operational Infrastructure: Ensuring our operational infrastructure effectively supports the entire sales pipeline, from identifying warm leads to tracking sales-qualified leads, converting prospects, contracting, and invoicing clients. This includes responsibility for our CRM (HubSpot) as well as overseeing data management and metrics tracking.

• Recruitment Campaigns: Supporting the implementation of campaigns that attract diverse applicants to our programmes and overseeing their assessment and selection, as well the process for matching successful candidates into roles with our partners. 

• Marketing & Communications: Support the Marketing Manager in developing marketing collateral and delivering email and social media campaigns that promote Koreo’s programme offers to prospective applicants and clients.

• Account Management: Facilitating high-quality account management for our existing partners, identifying opportunities to strengthen and deepen engagement with them, and prioritising retention. This will include regular engagement with partners through updates, meetings, and running events.

• Line Management: Contributing to a just, inclusive and regenerative work culture in which a diverse team can do its best work, this includes line management of a small team in a way that is aligned with Koreo’s values

• Representing Koreo: Championing Koreo and our wider work externally, inspiring others to join our vision for a more equitable and inclusive future for the social sector.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Fundraising Manager to join our small and dynamic team during an exciting period of growth for the organisation. This newly created role will be a crucial role in developing and implementing fundraising strategies to support our mission and ensure the financial sustainability of the Charity.

It will include identifying new funding opportunities as well as creating strategies to build our regular donors, discover and work with high-net-worth individuals, develop corporate partnerships and legacy campaigns. The Trusts and Grants Manager will develop and implement a strategy to grow income from trusts, foundations, and institutional funders. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of securing five- and six-figure grants, be confident in designing persuasive proposals, and can analyse financial and project data to ensure accurate reporting.

Do you believe everyone should have the opportunity to learn to read and develop numeracy skills? Can you help us spread the word to others, and get them on board too?

We’re looking for an experienced communications and marketing professional to help us spread the word about the levels of low literacy and numeracy experienced by people across the UK. Currently, over 70% of people in prisons either can’t read, or struggle to. Even more struggle with their numeracy. 

Shannon Trust supports people in the criminal justice system, and in the wider community, to learn to read and improve their numeracy skills. The work you will be promoting makes day to day life safer for the learner, their families, and the wider community. It provides more opportunities for work and education for the learner, helps break the intergenerational cycle of low literacy and numeracy, and reduces re-offending.

Working closely with colleagues across the charity, your responsibilities will include:

• Promoting the work of Shannon Trust, internally and externally, through a variety of communications platforms including print and digital media, video and radio
• Managing the day-to-day monitoring and development of our social media channels and website
• Developing strong relationships with press and staying on the lookout for opportunities to promote Shannon Trust
• Delivering a great experience to our supporters, helping us recruit new supporters and retain existing ones
• Creating content that converts people to action

Who are we looking for?

Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a communications role (or related field) along with excellent written skills and be social media Savvy. The Role

• Seek prospective partnerships and donors to secure new revenue and ways to maximise awareness of BBA

• Manage and strengthen existing relationships 

• Lead on creation and implementation of the BBA's first partnerships strategy 

• Track and report on fundraising and partnership performance, using data and feedback to update key stakeholders 

• Connect between baby banks and corporate partners with effective coordination and communication. Building relationships and representing the Baby Bank Alliance is key.

To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Proven track record of securing significant financial donations for a programme or initiative, and building long term donor relationships 

• Proven experience in developing new fundraising and partnership 

• Proven experience of  managing partnerships,  corporate fundraising, or a related field
