As the deputy to the Director of Finance, the Financial Controller is a key finance leadership role responsible for the financial integrity of the organisations finances. Leading on the financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting for the DBF, Coventry Cathedral and Together for Change, this role will ensure compliance with Charity, Company and Ecclesiastical legislation. Leading and guiding a team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Main Activities and Duties
1. Reporting, Budgeting, Financial Management, Accounting processes and systems
- Overall responsibility for the production of the DBF monthly management accounts to budget holders by working day 8. Ensure that monthly reviews with budget holders take place; to monitor financial performance & recommend corrective action to budget holders when needed. Provide training & development opportunities to budget holders.
- Working with the Director of Finance to prepare financial reports and commentary for the various diocesan committees.
- Preparation of the annual report and financial statements for the DBF. Ensuring compliance with accounting standards & regulations. Liaise with auditors during the external audit ensuring all reports and supporting documentation are available.
- Develop & manage the annual budget for the DBF; in collaboration with budget holders. Provide financial forecasts & analysis to support strategic decision making.
- Maintain accurate records of all funds, ensuring proper allocation & usage. Preparation & submission of timely & accurate financial reports to donors & budget holders of these funds. Monitor & report on restricted & unrestricted funds.
- Lead change management initiatives to improve financial processes & systems. Identify opportunities for process improvement & implement best practices throughout all three organisations. Engage with stakeholders to ensure successful adoption of changes. Monitor & evaluate the impact of changes on financial operations.
- Implement & maintain robust internal controls. Ensure compliance with financial policies & procedures. Conduct regular reviews and audits of financial processes.
- Oversee the calculation, collection & reporting of Parish Share contributions. Ensure accurate & transparent reporting for the Deanery Share allocations. Communicate with parishes to provide guidance & support on Parish Share matters.
2. Leadership
- To provide leadership and clear direction to the team ensuring appraisals with SMART objectives that form the basis of regular monthly meetings reviewing individual and team performance.
- Working closely with the Director of Finance providing regular updates on the finances of each of organisations that the finance team supports.
- To attend training courses and events to maintain the professional accountancy qualification and competency to ensure that the post holder is aware of best practice and upcoming developments affecting the DBF, Cathedral and TFC.
- Developing relationships with budget holders to understand the drivers for expenditure, proactively providing advice and guidance to build commercial awareness.
- Providing advice and support to parishes on basic queries relating to finance and charity reporting matters. Using the data available in the department from Parish Finance returns and accounts to understand the impact of the financial health of the parishes on the DBF.

1. Policy research and analysis including:

- Explore new advocacy opportunities through expanded stakeholder engagement across private sector, youth and other networks.
3. Thought leadership for water security, water governance and climate finance
- Provide subject matter expertise on climate finance to support integration of water security and WASH and understanding of applicable pathways to influence climate finance policy towards increasing investment.
- Participate in knowledge exchange with fellow WaterAid staff in Canada and globally as part of internal working groups and communities of practice.
Requirements
To be successful, you’ll need:
- A postgraduate degree in environmental studies, climate change, or water governance.
- 5+ years’ experience in international assistance, policy analysis, and advocacy.
- Proven ability to engage with civil society, government agencies, and donors.
- Strong expertise in WASH, climate finance, and governance.
- Excellent research and analytical skills, with experience in policy brief development.
- Willingness and ability to travel in Canada and internationally, sometimes in difficult environments (when travel is permitted).
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across global teams.
- Demonstrated ability to write high quality briefing notes, policy briefs, and influencing plans in English.
Desirable:
- Experience working in low- and middle-income countries.
- Proficiency in French or other WaterAid working languages.
- Knowledge of Canada’s reconciliation policies and Indigenous water rights.
- Fundraising and grant proposal development experience is an asset.
- Experience within a global federation and Canadian civil society a strong asset

About the Role
This new role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR within Mind BLMK. The role will join the CEO and Head of Finance and Head of Operations as part of the Executive team. We require a strategic thinker who can align HR practices with our objectives, foster a positive culture, drive talent management and foster employee development.
Mind BLMK has a workforce of around 90 people and a small infrastructure to support us to deliver our valuable services to the community. About You

Key Duties

We have a fantastic opportunity for a governance professional to join the Society as a Senior Governance Officer. Reporting to the Head of Legal & Governance & Company Secretary, you will be part of the Finance and Assurance directorate.
The role focuses on delivering the best governance service primarily to our Executive Leadership Team, providing dedicated support to their meetings, and providing support to selected Trustee committee meetings. About the role

About the role
Christian Aid is seeking a Digital Acquisition Specialist to lead our paid search (Google and Microsoft) and paid social media campaigns (particularly on Meta platforms). You will play a key role in advancing our mission by acquiring new supporters and generating income through targeted, data-driven campaigns.
Working closely with the Digital Marketing Manager, you will design, execute, and optimise digital campaigns, ensuring they align with organisational goals and deliver measurable results. You'll manage 80% of campaigns in-house while collaborating with external partners for the remaining 20%. Your expertise in campaign strategy, budget management, and performance analysis will be crucial in maximising Return on Investment (ROI).
This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to Christian Aid's mission while working in a dynamic, agile environment. Occasional travel may be required, particularly during humanitarian emergencies.
About you
You are an experienced digital marketing professional with a strong background in both paid search and paid social campaigns. With at least three years of experience (in-house or agency), you are confident in managing Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, and Meta platforms. You have a solid understanding of audience targeting, keyword strategies, and performance optimisation.
Your skills in data analysis (using tools like Google Analytics 4) allow you to identify performance trends and generate actionable insights. You are proficient in creating compelling ads using tools such as Canva and Photoshop, and you can collaborate effectively with creative teams.
Strong communication and copywriting skills are essential, as you will present campaign strategies, deliver performance reports, and provide clear recommendations to stakeholders.
