We are looking for a dynamic and detail orientated leader to cover our Head of Learning and Development role to ensure that our people learn the skills and gain the knowledge that they need to do their best work with our clients.
About the role:
We're looking for someone with the values, skills and knowledge to lead our learning and development function for a fixed period that will include project, budget, team and people management, developing new programmes of learning, commissioning training, developing an annual training plan and developing current systems and processes.
Particular projects and workstreams that you would pick up in this role would include developing and rolling out a new programme of learning for our night staff, increasing our benefit from apprenticeships and building on our existing training for future, new and established managers.
Hybrid working is the norm for us at the moment, so a mix of home and office working is what you'll get, as well as our other benefits. We are looking for an organised and proactive person who will lead the delivery team for our Grant Management portfolio and Process Hosting services. This involves ‘account management’, which means supporting groups as they scale, as well as oversight of the services. You will manage at least two Partnerships Managers, each with their own portfolio of groups, and be responsible for continuing to shape and refine the delivery of the service.
Many of our groups are at the beginning of their journey in impact or size. Our Grant Management service supports our groups through this journey, ensuring we understand their needs, finding practical solutions to support them to achieve their goals, ensuring contracts are delivered in line with agreements, supporting them with budgeting and advising where financial decisions need to be made. Our Process Hosting service is new but growing, and provides groups, coalitions and networks with crucial admin, governance and secretarial support suited to non-hierarchical structures. As the Senior Account Manager, you will be responsible for supporting groups and leaders facing complex dynamics and testing creative solutions to address their challenges.
This role combines customer service, impact-scaling support, account management, deep facilitation and team leadership. This role will be an integral part of the business, and your understanding of the service and what is important for our groups will support the growth of our business. You will report to the Head of Programmes and work closely with the rest of the Delivery team as well as other functions across SCN.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Account management (60%):
You will manage several partner accounts, specifically those that are high profile or complex. For Grant Management, this involves:
- Working directly with groups and movements to understand their needs and help them navigate challenges in their journey of scaling, e.g. governance, budget management, recruitment etc.
- Facilitating monthly meetings with partners to build relationships, discuss emerging needs, and track progress on contracts with funders.
- Liaising with funders on behalf of partners where needed.
- Track grant budgets and support partners with risk management.

Our Pro Bono division delivers projects free-of-charge to charities and not-for-profit organisations within the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors, with the aim of making a real difference to causes that our staff care about. We are recruiting four Workforce Leads to support hands-on recruitment, attraction and the onboarding and training of IPS Employment Specialists and Team Leaders across the country. IPS Grow is a national programme designed to support the expansion of Individual Placement and Support (IPS) services in mental health, primary care, and drug and alcohol teams across England. The programme is led by Social Finance in partnership with the Centre for Mental Health. It is funded by NHS England and Improvement (NHSE/I), the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), and the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID).
The Workforce Lead will provide specialist support to services embarking on recruitment campaigns, monitor their effectiveness and share learning. They will also provide hands-on support for recruitment efforts and training. This will vary according to the service need, but could include headhunting, sifting CVs, preparing for interviews, shortlisting and training.

The role will manage the statutory and non-statutory income generation team including tenders, grants and fundraising staff to achieve a net target of approximately £2m per annum. This team plays a pivotal role in the financial wellbeing of the charity enabling us to support the thousands of women and children who come to us each year as a result of violence against women and girls (VAWG).
