As part of our advising mission, we deliver the Sutton Trust Fulbright US programme. Working in partnership with the Sutton Trust, one of the UK’s leading social mobility charities, the ambitious programme gives talented state school students a taster of US culture and higher education through an annual programme of support, including UK-based residentials and a week-long summer programme at a US university campus. Those students interested in pursuing a full undergraduate degree in the US receive one-to-one guidance and application support from the team throughout the admissions and financial aid process in the autumn.
This role supports three programme managers and the director to work with the students, by helping to administrate the programme – including supporting programme selection, residential coordination, US admissions advice, through to pre-departure programming before students enrol at a US institution. The programme is administered by the Fulbright Commission, and the assistant sits in the Advising team within the Commission.
You will offer a passion for higher education and a willingness to learn. You’ll have a great eye for detail, be organised and be efficient. You’ll be able to spot problems before they arise and excel at ensuring processes are followed – all while being sympathetic to our students. Essential for the role will be experience of working with young people either in a professional or volunteering capacity. Given the mission of our organisation and the nature of the Sutton Trust Fulbright US Programme, candidates with personal experience with the US higher education system will be at an advantage.

About the role
Are you passionate and knowledgeable about delivering training in AI and keen to apply your skills to lead a purpose-driven project?
Media Trust is looking for an experienced programme manager to lead on the delivery of a pioneering new programme. You will be empowering charities and under-represented creative talent, helping them gain AI skills to bridge the growing AI divide and prevent marginalised communities from being further excluded or disadvantaged.
The programme will provide AI essentials training to two of Media Trust’s key beneficiary stakeholder groups: (i) small charities advocating for and supporting marginalised communities, and (ii) talent from under-represented backgrounds working, or aspiring to work, in the media and creative industries.
Media Trust will be partnering with one of the world’s leading tech companies who will deliver the training for the programme – we expect a formal announcement of the partnership in late November.
You will be responsible for designing the delivery calendar and managing the launch and delivery of this ambitious programme, which will run from January to December 2025. You will also manage the MEL (measurement, evaluation and learning) processes for the programme and produce a quarterly progress report for the programme funder.
You will provide insights and learning from the programme to help Media Trust design new AI-related and other digital skills training programmes for charities and/or creative talent from under-represented backgrounds.

Job Title: Finance Assistant

Part 1: Role Purpose:
This role is a great introduction to the world of charity finance as a key member of the busy HQ finance function. The role is primarily focused on HQ finances and will also work with colleagues across our global finance team. The role focuses on accounts payable and as the finance assistant develops in the role will offer the chance to work across a number of finance functions, including: treasury, accounts receivable, month end close, management accounting, supporting year end audit. This role provides a great opportunity to experience the full breadth of finance work in a charity across all functions in a varied and interesting role, learning quickly and making a real difference from day one.
Part 2: Key Responsibilities:
1) (60%) Accounts Payable
- Recording all approved supplier invoices, requisitions, staff expenses and other expenditure in the accounting system ensuring that they are all appropriately coded including the correct cost centre, GL code, projects and donor codes.
- Ensure that all supporting documentation for all transactions are uploaded into the finance system.
- Ensuring that all invoices for payment are appropriately approved by budget holder.
- Running short term cash flow forecasting and recommending bank account transfers including moving cash held in reserve into current access accounts. Looking for value for money in Foreign Currency transfers by choosing the best means of payment from available payment platforms.
- Ensure timely payment of all invoices by managing at least two payment runs a week and additional runs as required; setting up payments on online banking platforms and sending out requests for payment approvals to payment authorisers and verifying that all payments are fully approved by the deadline set.
- Once the payment is made, allocating the payment against the invoices in the Finance system and reviewing to ensure that all payments are allocated correctly.
- Reviewing staff expense claims to ensure that all supporting documentation is provided before payment.
- Supporting monthly staff credit card reconciliations to run the monthly statements.
- Monthly creditor account reconciliations to ensure correct allocation of payments to supplier accounts and validating any open account balances.
- Any other responsibilities relating to Accounts Payable.
2) (20%) Month end support and general support
- Complete bank reconciliations each month for all group bank accounts.
- Uploading monthly exchange rates to the Finance System
- Ensuring supporting information for transactions is correctly stored in electronic format on Teams such as bank statements, remittance advices, credit statements.
- Assist in preparation of internal reports.
- Assisting with compilation of information for Gift Aid returns.
- General support and assistance to the team including administrative duties and managing the office post.
- Other ad hoc support to the wider operations team as may be required.
3) (20%) Accounts Receivable
- Supporting with work on accounts receivable including accessing, downloading and saving in a systematic manner reports from donor portals, bank account and other sources.
- Analysing and coding income reports in Excel and uploading it to the Finance system on a timely basis, at least weekly.
- Maintaining details of cheques received and paying into the bank account.
- Issuing donor receipts.
- Raising donor invoices and requests for payments.

About the role

The Assistant Head of Inshore Boating is instrumental in facilitating these experiences as part of a team working to support volunteers and colleagues across the UK, with a focus on our five activities of dinghy sailing, paddlesport, powerboating, rowing and windsurfing. The post will require experience of dealing with people of all ages/backgrounds, in the management of delivering activities, equipment/facilities and supporting the development of instructors.
We are looking for a passionate practitioner, with a background in delivering both on and off the water, and in-depth experience of operating procedures and governing documentation. Experience of working with young people is essential.
Responsibilities
· Lead on developing our boating/watersports framework
· Support volunteer led activity across the UK in delivering life affirming on the water experiences to young people.
· Support the Head of Inshore in the development and delivery of assurance and safety of Boating.

Our Chief Executives’ Office co-ordinates the work of the two charities to ensure appropriate organisational strategies and plans are both developed and delivered to meet the objectives of Rethink Mental Illness and MHUK to ensure everyone severely affected by mental illness has a better quality of life. As an Executive Assistant you will provide ongoing support to the Chief Executives’ Office to ensure the smooth-running function of the office. You will be responsible for co-ordination and minuting of meetings including quarterly MHUK Board meetings and other cross directorate management meetings as required.
The role will also involve providing diary management for the Chief Executives’ Office, including organising travel and accommodation; working closely with the Head of the Private Office to ensure the CEOs have appropriate briefings for meetings, speeches, conferences and events as well as coordinating the high level and sensitive correspondence of the Private Office (including email, letters and relevant social media).

As a Retail Operations Administration Assistant your role will be to proactively assist the retail team in ensuring the 130+ Marie Curie high street shops across the country trade efficiently, effectively, and compliantly. JOB PURPOSE
About the role
Start Network is seeking an experienced individual or consultant on a 12 month fixed-term contract to manage the first phase of our digital transformation journey. We are looking to build an innovative digital function and are offering a dedicated position to focus on key technology priorities identified. This 12-month position will lay the foundations required to ensure that Start Network is prepared for continued, sustainable technology growth.
This is a cross-cutting senior role that will oversee the delivery of the organisational digital transformation project, leading the implementation and adoption of Start Network’s 3-year digital transformation strategy and business plan. The Senior Digital Transformation Lead needs to be continuously scanning an evolving landscape: implementing a framework for opportunity identification to prioritise areas for transformation; managing staff for continuous scanning of latest technology developments and assessing relevance to the organisation’s needs.
