This role is a core part of Pecan’s senior leadership team (SLT), working to develop strategic direction and playing a play a key role in the organisation’s aim to transform the lives of the most disadvantaged people in our community.

You will enable Pecan’s frontline team to deliver the highest possible standards of service.  You will have responsibility for Employment Support, Southwark & Lewisham Women’s Service and Together community projects. This role also oversees Marketing & Communications and Partnerships. It will work closely with the Fundraising Manager and is the Safeguarding Lead and the Equalities Lead

Main Responsibilities:

• To play a significant role in the pastoral care and wellbeing of staff and volunteers ensuring they feel supported and safe at work and have access to wellbeing support
• To develop and deliver services supporting women affected by the criminal justice system and for local women seeking support, information and community.
• To develop and deliver contracted services to enable people to gain employment.
• Expand the offer to reduce isolation and increase community cohesion as well as tackle some of the barriers facing people.

About the Role

As our Senior HR Business Partner, you will shape and deliver HR strategies that align with our mission and business objectives.

About the Role 

We are now recruiting for an experienced Policy and Public Affairs Specialist to lead on planning and delivering Hibiscus’ work on racial and intersectional inequalities in the Criminal Justice and Immigration systems. 

Development, research and report writing will be a key aspect of this role; the successful candidate will be responsible for drafting policy recommendations, reports, and consultation responses on issues related to Black and minoritised migrant women in contact with the Criminal Justice and Immigration systems. Supporting the Head of Policy and Public Affairs, they will engage and develop relationships with key political and parliamentary stakeholders, developing and delivering a variety of public affairs initiatives to inform decision-makers and influence policy in Criminal Justice, Immigration and Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) sectors. The post holder will prepare press releases and statements to address prison and immigration reforms, identifying the gaps of adequate support for women, and will analyse external and internal quantitative and qualitative data relevant to our work.

As part of the role, the Policy and Public Affairs Specialist will be responsible for raising awareness and creating content on the treatment of Black and minoritised migrant women within the Criminal Justice System. The post holder will identify opportunities for influence, monitor trends and developments, and prepare communications, reports and policy briefings to help ensure our work has an impact.

The post holder will also be responsible for leading Hibiscus’ partnership work on the Women’s Justice Reimagined project, advocating for the reimagination of the Criminal Justic System. They will build on Hibiscus’ policy work to raise our profile within advisory and working groups, creating alliances with other organisations in the sector and collaborating with other specialist and third-sector organisations to campaign for policy change and increase policy and decision-makers awareness of the issues Hibiscus works on.

About You

The successful candidate will have experience working in the UK political context to influence change, with demonstrable experience in developing and implementing public affairs strategies and building relationships with policy makers to inform decision making in government and across the Criminal Justice and Immigration sectors. 

The candidate will have knowledge and experience in collecting quantitative and qualitative research methods to produce evidence-based reports, press statements, and legislative policy briefings. The Science Communications Manager leads an expert team that inspires and informs the public, donors and researchers about dementia research, the progress being made, wider developments in the field and the impact of Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) funding.

The postholder plays a vital role in helping tell the story and scientific narrative of ARUK to a variety of audiences, cementing the charity’s role as a leading authority on dementia research in the UK and globally. They also help to create a clear, creative, and compelling case for the need for research and the progress being made towards finding a cure.

Key responsibilities include finding and developing stories around ARUK research, managing our news and views website, and commissioning multi-media content that tells the story of ARUK and progress in dementia research. 

With much of the charity’s fundraising propositions centring around our research portfolio, this role and the team it leads are the keystone that unites our research output and fundraising approaches.  This means working closely with our Philanthropy and Gifts in Wills teams to create impactful research content, as well as supporting engagement activities.

This means you will be an effective and inspiring communicator, creating and landing content covering ARUK research, impact and commentary across multiple communications channels and audiences. · Supporting the Philanthropy and Gifts in Wills teams by ensuring progress reports are delivered on time and have met the required brief, producing other engaging research content when needed, managing a series of lab visits, and identifying and briefing scientific speakers for events or VIP visits.

· Oversee the charity’s work to engage researchers, growing the field, sharing best practice, and coordinating events and development opportunities to ensure the UK remains a world-class place to conduct dementia research.

· Develop and maintain high-level narrative documents that make the case for research and the work of ARUK, and devise and develop innovative and creative communications products and campaigns based on this narrative.

· Manage the ‘Our Research’ and ‘News and Views’ sections of the ARUK website, ensuring engaging and up-to-date content, video and graphics, and monitoring the performance of digital content.

· Lead the development of public-facing communications for our major research initiatives such as the Drug Discovery Alliance, Clinical Accelerator programme and UK Dementia Research Institute.

· Represent ARUK to a high level within key relationships and partnership projects including, but not restricted to, Join Dementia Research, Brains for Dementia Research, Blood Biomarker Challenge, the Science Media Centre and other shorter-term partnerships.

· Manage multiple short and long term projects, working with teams within the charity and key external stakeholders.

· Ensure activities comply with ARUK’s branding and style guide.

As the Head of Operations, you will have oversight and management responsibility for all operational aspects of service delivery. You will understand the needs of women who have experienced abuse and will ensure the services are delivered through a trauma-informed lens, including trauma stabilisation and support. Key responsibilities: 

• To line manage and supervise operational managers including Refuge Manager, Community Services Manager, Counselling Services Manager and the Volunteer Coordinator

• To participate in the recruitment, induction and training of staff and volunteers. 

• To support the emotional welfare of staff and volunteers, with an awareness of vicarious trauma and appropriate interventions

• To support line managers to develop and embed organisation-wide cultural competency

• To lead on quality assurance and case management across the organisation for the delivery of support services

• To work with line managers, supported by the CEO, to annually review services, with an emphasis on accessibility and reaching minoritised women and communities. 

• Plan and deliver internal and external training

• To review and monitor organisational strategy achievements alongside the Chief Executive on a quarterly basis

• To organise and chair meetings
• To develop creative ideas and engaging ways to showcase and actively promote WCWAid services and outcomes, including creation of promotional content
• To work with the Development Manager to develop, write and submit proposals, bids, fundraising applications to support operations

• To coordinate, with the support of relevant managers, monthly, quarterly and annual internal and external reporting ensuring that all funder requirements are met 

• To liaise with, develop and maintain good working relationships with all appropriate agencies in both the voluntary and statutory sectors at local, regional and national level

• To attend all appropriate multi-agency meetings and forums

• To ensure strong, effective and coordinated working across all service areas within the organisation

• To ensure that services comply with all statutory, legal and contractual requirements with the support of the Services Coordinator 

• To ensure all staff work within the policies, procedures and ethos of WCWAid

• Undertake all the duties of Safeguarding Lead including reporting, reviewing cases and learning, ensuring staff are trained and confident to deal with a wide range of safeguarding issues

• To support the development of a communications strategy and plan and ensure this is effectively delivered

• Support line managers to effectively manage and monitor outcomes, quality and performance to enable the highest standard of service delivery

• Reviewing, updating and managing operational risks on the organisational Risk Register

• Responsibility for the organisations Business Continuity Plan including organising the annual walk through and ensuring all key personal have access to current and accurate plan

• To work closely with the relevant operational managers to ensure that all contract compliance requirements are fully met

• To ensure that all service developments and improvements are informed by women’s voices

• To produce and support tendering and grant requirements including bidding and reporting activities

• To deputise for the Chief Executive Officer in her absence

We’re really excited to be working with the Royal Hospital for Neuro-Disability on their Community Fundraising Executive role. The Royal Hospital for Neuro-Disability does amazing work caring for adults with a range of neurological conditions and brain injuries, from research and clinical care, to their young adults residential centre, Haberdasher’s House. The Community Fundraising Executive will play a key role in in the development and growth of the charity, maximising income and raising awareness of the RHN.

Rainbow Mind (Northern Hub - Salford) is looking for a full time Therapeutic Services Manager to oversee our one-to-one therapy service.

We have recently received a large grant from the Lottery Community Fund to expand our service and further develop our bespoke therapeutic model.

Overall Purpose of the Role:

• To effectively manage and provide strategic and operational oversight of the Rainbow Mind counselling service and development of service provision.
• To ensure delivery of consistent, high-quality counselling across the client cohorts, supporting and empowering our service users, whilst ensuring clinical work is carried out in accordance with BACP ethical guidelines and Rainbow Mind protocols.
• As part of the Senior Leadership Team, to contribute to Mind in Salford / Rainbow Mind’s vision, mission and objectives.

Main focus of the role:

• To lead, develop, coordinate, and represent Rainbow Mind’s counselling service internally and externally at Senior Management level.
• To conduct some clinical assessments and carry a caseload of counselling clients.
