About the Role
As our Senior HR Business Partner, you will shape and deliver HR strategies that align with our mission and business objectives.
Working closely with leaders, key stakeholders and HR colleagues, you will ensure the development of people solutions that prioritise equality, diversity and inclusion while supporting the ongoing transformation of services.
In addition to providing expert advice and guidance on HR matters, you will lead complex casework, performance management, employee relations and key HR initiatives. These initiatives will span across various areas, including workforce planning, talent management, resourcing, restructuring, pay and reward, and employee engagement.
A key part of the role is ensuring that stakeholders are informed and consulted on organisational changes, as well as delivering bite-size training sessions for managers.
Additionally, you will:
- Use data from HRIS to identify process improvements, drive decision-making and develop business cases for change initiatives
- Deputise for the Deputy Director of People & Culture
About You
To be considered as our Senior HR Business Partner, you will need:
- Experience of managing and improving employee relations

You will have the ability to manage a busy workload and deadlines whilst taking ownership of problems to find a solution where possible, escalating to a manager where required.

Working closely with the grants and research team, the postholder be responsible for developing and delivering the charity’s multi-media activity in the area of grant making and impact communications.
You will support the demonstration of their impact through a steady stream of new and engaging content about the charity for dissemination to supporters, the media, patients, staff and other stakeholders. There will be a focus on increasing visibility of the charity (internal and external), staff and grant applicants (hospital and institute) engagement, along with inspiring potential donors, external partners.
Communicating impact in an engaging way will importantly inspire staff and researchers to put forward proposals for innovation, research and wider grant funding leading to further patient benefit.
This is a varied and highly collaborative role that is critical to the charity’s wider and exiting growth ambitions and success.
Key experience includes:
- Ability to convey scientific (health or medical) information in innovative, engaging and creative ways
- Contribute, as a member of the communications team, to the successful delivery of the charity’s communications strategy with a focus on crafting compelling content for grant applicants and the demonstration of impact and outcomes from charity funding.
- A passion for storytelling and persuasive writing across both on and offline channels
- Managing complex relationships with a breadth of partners and agencies to deliver projects
- Experience managing communications campaigns and projects
- Writing, editing and design commissioning experience across a range of media

As a Senior Policy Advisor (Access to Treatments), you will be essential in providing the Association with the vital information and analysis needed to influence health and care policymakers.
You will lead on issues related to access to treatments and healthcare, including the availability of medicines, genetic tests, and new care models. You'll monitor the policy landscape and regulatory environment, develop policy positions, and engage with external partners to maximise the availability and accessibility of treatments and clinical trials.
You will collaborate closely with our internal colleagues, particularly the Senior Policy Advisor for Research and Healthcare, to enhance the availability of clinical trials. Your work will involve analysing policy issues, identifying solutions, and preparing briefing documents for senior colleagues.
Engagement with a variety of stakeholders, including clinicians, researchers, and people with MND, is key. You will also liaise with organisations such as the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), and NHS England, communicating the MND Association's positions through policy papers, briefings, and reports.

Building relationships with other statutory and non-statutory agencies in local communities is vital to build referral pathways and provide a whole system approach to supporting individuals.
To carry out this work you will meet women in the community in your designated borough and co-locate with other agencies including the National Probation Service, as well as regularly attending Advance’s North London vibrant Women’s Centre/office space.
You will be a creative self-starter who will support the service and look for innovative solutions to support clients with complex needs. You are confident professional relationship builder and has good awareness of Safeguarding procedures. Strong Administration skills and understanding of compliant behaviours also experience of supporting. With good knowledge of the criminal justice system and awareness of other support provisions.
