The ideal candidate will be engaged and willing to learn with a proven track record of delivering support services within the charity sector. They will be an excellent communicator who is good at self-motivating in a remote role and has experience in building meaningful relationships with a range of stakeholders. They will also be able to multi-task on a daily basis by supporting our service users through a range of platforms.
Experience of supporting service users face to face, being able to extract data for reporting, grow existing services and the ability to deliver presentations would also to desirable.

About the Role
Legal Advisors at Freedom from Torture deliver expert, detailed, advice to treatment clients and their clinicians on all areas of asylum and immigration law. There is a particular focus on complex, appeals rights exhausted cases where there is a risk of detention, and on supporting clients who are unrepresented. Legal Advisors review evidence produced by clinicians for use in clients’ asylum and immigration cases, ensuring that it complies with the standards required of a professional witness. Legal Advisors are also responsible for delivering internal and external training on a range of legal issues affecting torture survivors within the immigration and asylum system in the UK.
We are seeking to recruit Locum Legal Advisors to provide additional capacity to the team when needed. The Locum Legal Advisors may be asked to undertake any tasks covered by the Legal Advisor Job Description accompanying this advertisement. Although we are unable to offer guaranteed hours, we may be able to offer up to three days per week in early 2025. The role will be hybrid and attendance at either of our Manchester or London centres may be required.

About You
You will be a qualified legal professional: a solicitor, barrister, or OISC accredited at Level Three, with expertise in immigration and asylum law, particularly in relation to the legal protections available to survivors of torture. You will have experience of advising and representing clients in the Tribunals and Courts, including in judicial review claims. You will be able to communicate effectively and sensitively with people who have experienced trauma and will be able to build professional relationships with a variety of colleagues both internally and externally. You will share our commitment to working with and empowering people who have experienced torture.

The Role:
As a Regional Implementation Advisor, you'll ensure that projects and training streams are informed by the latest policy and research. Your work will focus on integrated, preventative, and early intervention support for families, with a particular emphasis on the early years and perinatal mental health.
Responsibilities:
- Leading research activities and contributing specialist knowledge of research methods.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with regional stakeholders, including local authorities and the voluntary and community sectors.
- Facilitating events, such as Communities of Practice and Action Learning Sets, to share best practice and insights.

Requirements
- Knowledge of local authority and voluntary sector landscapes in early years and family hub policy.

- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills.

- Provide professional person centred, in depth support to clients by a range of means, ensuring the most efficient and effective use of resources.
- Provide support on a variety of health and social care issues, including appropriate emotional, employment and welfare benefits support and advocating with and on behalf of clients.
- Work flexibly across the service responding to enquiries through a range of channels.
- Work closely with clinicians, specialist nurses and other professional colleagues to raise the profile of the service, increase depth of support and achieve improved outcomes for people with Parkinson’s.
What you'll bring:
- Experience of managing and delivering individual case work, including advocating for clients and supporting people to navigate the health and social care system
- Experience and understanding of safeguarding and your role in keeping clients safe and implementing organisational policies and procedure
- Ability to be calm and use emotional intelligence in challenging casework
- Demonstrable digital competence, with experience of effective use of a range of tools including online case management systems

Our client is a leading mental-health charity who has been supporting children, young people and families for the past 70 years. We are pleased to be assisting them in their search for a temporary Evidence & Implementation Lead. The role is running for 3-months and is full time (35 hours per week). This role is fully remote.
Key Responsibilities for this role include:
- Leading and managing the distribution and implementation of evidence for the National Centre for Family Hubs (NCFH) programme, ensuring the production of good quality resources produced in a timely manner.
- Managing the design and implementation of the NCFH programme in local areas, identifying support needs, ensuring particular attention to equity, diversity and inclusion, and safeguarding.
- Line managing the NCFH regional implementation advisors and policy and practice advisor.
- Working with the Deputy Head to lead and manage the NCFH programme including overseeing budgets, staffing and delivery plans, problem solving and risk mitigation and reporting requirements to the Clinical Leadership Team, Executive and funders.
- Establishing and maintaining positive and strong relationships with relevant departments and stakeholders.
- Programme management of the NCFH programme, including creating and delivering work plans, identifying resources and assigning responsibilities to meet changing needs.
- Supporting the Deputy Head in organising both internal and external meetings.
- Compiling reports and guidance for both internal and external communications.
To be considered for this position, you should possess:
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a charity setting.
- Knowledge of relevant Local Authority and Voluntary Community Sector practices.
- Awareness of UK policies and issues affecting the provision of health and social care services for families with young children.
- Experience with line management and engaging with colleagues.
- Ability to prioritise varying workloads and project requirements.
- Strong communication skills including verbal and written communication, specifically in translating policy, academic and clinical research into accessible resources.
- Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
