The Role 

You will be one of the first points of contact for the Seminary and responsible for providing multifunctional administrative and practical support to the Principal, Senior Leadership Team, and staff. 

You will take a proactive approach to the role, supporting the smooth admission of students into the Seminary. You will also undertake a wide range of other duties including supporting the senior leadership team, ensuring the smooth running of the library, liaising with the site manager over accommodation and facilities and general administration as required. Below is an outline of duties. 

Student support

• Book interested parties into Visit and Open Days 

• Send out applications as requested.  Chase up near deadlines. 

• Deal with written correspondence, forwarding/scanning items as necessary

Course Support 

• Produce and issue timetables as directed by teaching staff 

• Assign students and staff to Morning Worship slots 

• Book lecturers where requested 

• Set seminar, assignment, essay and visit/open dates 

• Allocate seminar presentation slots to students 

• Produce lecturer agreements 

Facilities 

• Book residential rooms for students, lecturers, and visitors 

• Student Flats: provide information about flats, licence agreements etc. 

• Report faults/maintenance issues

• Ensure safe standards are maintained across the site, reporting issues and rectifying problems

• Oversee cataloguing, stock-checking, filing and maintenance of books 

• Maintain journal subscriptions 

• Process book donations, adding to the library, selling to students, or disposing of as appropriate 

• Order and sell set texts to students 

• Order book donations for students, and biblical texts in the original languages 

• Maintain library software, running maintenance and error reports 

• Provide student details to Evangelical Library 

Other items 

• Maintain licences, ensuring they are operated correctly and renewed promptly:

• Plan and deliver a continuous program of process upgrades and development under the direction of the Systems Development Manager - continue to automate individual and bulk processes within UPM2 and any other applications, as prioritised.

Terms and Conditions

• Location: This role can be based at the MAF UK Offices in Folkstone, Kent or optionally could be in the Oxford, Cambridge arc as we seek to launch a new hub in the Milton Keynes area, maximising our engagement with a thriving local aerospace and charity sector region.  Up to two days a week in our Folkstone Office might be initially required.We welcome hybrid working in line with our flexible working policy, the needs of the business, the requirements of the role and your location. Yeldall Manor is a Christian recovery centre for men wanting to overcome their addiction problems. We have created this new part-time position to provide consistent and professional HR support to the organisation, bringing together various roles currently undertaken by a few different staff members.

The role will suit someone who can work under their own initiative (after training in our charity practices), experienced in overseeing the employee journey from recruitment and retention to departure. You will act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries, and ensure that the charity is compliant with all relevant legislation. This will involve dealing with all employment matters, building robust policies & procedures, and implementation across the organisation. You would also be responsible for preparing the staff rota and all related administration. We do not currently have HR software, so reviewing our requirements in this area would be one of your responsibilities. As a small charity (c. 35 staff including part-time and casual workers), the role will require balancing practical and administrative tasks with management responsibilities. We anticipate that you'll be based in the office for at least two days out of the three days/24 hours worked per week. The Supporter Development Fundraising Lead will play a crucial role. We are looking for a high energy, passionate fundraiser who is highly relational. Spear Programme

• Develop excellent strategic and operational working relationships with each of the delivery partners who will be delivering the programme
• Work collaboratively to support the shaping, planning, scheduling and implementation of the programme across the different delivery partners in line with the overarching programme framework; its aims and objectives and intended outcomes.
• Support the approach to and continual evolution of the incumbent development programme (CYF focus) in line with best professional / ministerial / leadership development practice.
• Lead on the co-creation and implementation of an overarching evaluation framework for the programme to include collation of data and subsequent reporting in line with governance requirements.
• Collate trends and data from the evaluations and participants to inform future design, and to demonstrate the impact of the programme.
• Present at governance meetings and any other relevant project boards, to consult with and influence senior leaders across the Church.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive central database in relation to the programme. (For example; include participant numbers (starters /completers), participants name/ current role /nominating Diocese, programme structure / indicative content, delivery schedules and evaluation points for each cohort in each provider.)
• Lead on the establishment and co-ordination of a learning community drawn from the relevant delivery partner faculty, to meet not less than three times a year; ensuring programme insights and learning are captured, cross referenced with evaluation data and fed into future programme planning and on-going quality improvement.
• Manage administrative support which is provided by a Project Co-Ordinator.
• Coach senior leaders from any of the leadership programmes as the opportunities arise.
• Contribute to writing reports for key bodies when required, including the House of Bishops, the College of Bishops and General Synod if required.
• Deputise for the Head of Senior Leadership Development in internal and external meetings if required
• Contribute to the 'knowledge capital' on leadership in the Church and to the organisational learning that arises from the programmes.
• Participate in discernment panels for the Strategic Leadership Development Programme (SLDP) as required
• Any other duties as required and commensurate with the post.

• Ongoing development of the new 'Learning Practicum' virtual learning system.
• Developing partnerships with theologians, TEIs, business schools and other leadership development providers and coaches.
• Playing a full part within the Ministry Development Team and wider Church.
• Wise investment of the available budget and good financial controls.
• Sharing good practice and learning with/from other parts of the Church and other partners.

• A salary of £66,186 plus age-related pension contributions between 8-15% of salary. We will also match any pension contributions you make up to an additional 3% of salary.
