About the role
We are now looking for an experienced and dynamic practitioner to lead on developing a comprehensive community development and outreach work for our West London Rape Crisis Service. This exciting role will develop relationships with local communities and professionals with an aim to raise awareness about sexual violence, improve communities and professionals’ responses as well as to improve access to services for survivors. This work will be carried out through a variety of activities such as briefings, workshops, trainings, and other means.
WGN’s Community Engagement Worker will also play a pivotal role in engaging with survivors as Experts by Experience, supporting them to shape and develop sexual violence policy and practice within the charity as well as externally.

Purpose of the Job:
This role is within our crisis alternative service – Safe Space - which is an out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. The service operates 365 days a year from 12:00pm(midday)-11:30pm across all of our boroughs. The shift pattern for this role is 4:30-11:30pm. This will be on a rota basis across support workers.
Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone on a one-to-one or group basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis. This will consist of 1:1 support; de-escalating and providing interventions, signposting for specialised or longer-term support, and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing. The aim of this service is to de-escalate and prevent further crises.
The objectives of the service include:
- To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health crisis in HFEH.
- To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation, planned wellbeing activities etc.
- To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
- To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
- To treat service users with respect, dignity and personalised support
- To raise awareness of mental health services available with the goal to improve long term mental health and reduce social isolation

An exciting opportunity for a Senior Practitioner to join our Telford STaRS service. Telford STaRS works with adults and young people over the age of 12 to enable them to make the changes they want to make, whether that is to reduce or completely stop their use of alcohol or drugs. Your challenge? To undertake a portfolio of cases, generally incorporating the more complex situations, and deputise for Service Managers as and when required. Supervising the work of Practitioners and Support Workers will be important too, as will prioritising activities and monitoring service delivery, outputs and outcomes and providing guidance, training and clinical supervision. · Promote and maintain a safe and healthy environment. Record and arrange for repairs and routine maintenance to the building and ensure work is carried out to an acceptable standard.
· Liaise with staff and multi-agencies to ensure that young peoples receive support to their changing needs.
· To assist in the recruitment, induction and monitoring through supervision and appraisals the performance of staff. This also includes any disciplinary action required.
· Draw the attention of the manager to any areas of concern.
· Liaise with the manager on staff grievances and disciplinary procedures when required.
· Assist in the formulation and/revision of policies and procedures as necessary

About the Role

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join our Bedford Mental Health Prevention service for adults which aims to improve people’s mental wellbeing, raise aspirations and enhance confidence.
As a Recovery Worker you will be at the heart of the service, delivering all aspects of the service, building positive relationships with those using the service and strong links into the wider community resources that Bedford provides.
Service Delivery
You will deliver topic focussed, group wellbeing sessions along with facilitating drop-in, activity sessions that provide a safe environment for service users to talk openly and develop practical tools, techniques and coping strategies in order to manage their own wellbeing. Sessions will enable people to have a better understanding of their own mental health, what is needed to keep them well, and to engage in wider community activities, be socially active and develop aspirations in expanding their skills and ambitions.
You will also offer informal 1-2-1 support where needed, to offer guidance and information that reduces the chance that people will fall through gaps, be isolated and ensuring the right support and the right time that manages a range of needs.
In addition, you will assess individuals’ suitability for the service and signpost where necessary. There will also be opportunity to support events in the community to raise awareness of our services and build links with local organisations
You will need to be empathetic and deliver a person-centred approach in a non-judgemental way, collaborating with people to empower and engage them.

The new post Women's post will be working across Camden substance misuse services to build safe spaces for women to access the treatment they need without fear from further harm or trauma. The new Hostel based post will be working with the Recovery in reach team to develop positive activities for Camden's hostel pathway clients to access treatment but also develop positive things in their lives to inspire their recovery.
