Specialist Behaviour Support Workers are responsible for supporting people with learning disabilities and behavioural needs to live full lives, develop skills and maintain their wellbeing.

We are looking for a specialist behavioural support worker of skilled, creative and experienced support workers to support one customer in her own home in Welwyn Garden City. Specialist Support Workers within Look Ahead are required to have either an extra dimension of experience or a higher qualification level as determined relevant for the particular post. Specialist Support Workers provide information, social inclusion and vocational opportunities to support people to recover and stay well; exercise choice and control in their care and lives; and participate on an equal footing in the community. Support is also provided to develop a model of re-enablement towards self-advocacy, self-management and empowerment, incorporating the principles and practice of recovery, co-production and peer support. This role must have an excellent value base to support the customer to build their life and develop their skills and passions as an independent person.

A full manual driving licence is required for this position.

What you'll do:
Supporting the customer to lead a full and active life and do things they enjoy, sensitively and persistently trying to new things to open new opportunities for the customer.
Developing the customer's independent living skills and involving them in aspects of maintaining and developing their home, including cooking, shopping, cleaning, and decorating.
Supporting the customer in their sensory routine, trialling and testing new sensory experiences.
Supporting the customer to communicate their wants and needs and develop new ways of doing this, communicating with them in a person-centred way.
Supporting the customer to manage their anxieties, using Positive Behaviour Support and Autism-specific approaches.
Collating a range of behavioural data and essential paperwork to be analysed within our local management structure.
Driving the customer's (manual) vehicle to support them to go about their daily life.
Communicating with a range of other key stakeholders including social work, psychology, and commissioning teams.
Acting in accordance with the policies and procedures of Look Ahead Care & Support plus those specific to the service including any statutory requirements.
Consistently reviewing the customer's life goals and their progress towards achieving them, in partnership with them and those important to them.
Supporting the customer with personal care.
Reporting any observations relating to customer welfare.
Maintaining records as required at the project.

What you'll bring:
NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
Minimum 2 years of experience working with customers with Autism/Challenging Behaviour/learning disabilities

Experience of engaging vulnerable people with complex needs in meaningful activities.

RJ4All is looking for an innovative UK Operations Director who will drive impactful social justice projects and community initiatives while fostering strategic growth and income generation. You will oversee our dynamic UK-based operations out of the Rotherhithe Community Centre, work closely with the Director, and lead our Centre-based team. 

Restorative Justice for All (RJ4All) is a charitable, user-led international institute with expertise in preventing and addressing harm at the individual, community and inter-state levels. We are one of the world’s leading experts in transferring complex criminological and social justice concepts into practice through real-life pilots and community projects. 

The UK Operations Director will lead on the delivery, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of RJ4All’s UK-based services, and especially those run from the RJ4All Rotherhithe Community Centre. It is expected that they will generate income for the UK operations and contribute to new ideas for UK-based projects that fall within RJ4All’s agreed strategy. Finally, the post holder will act in place of the Director when they are unavailable or for any other agreed reason.

This post requires leadership and strong ethical commitment to RJ4All’s core values and vision, independence balanced against organisational priorities and focus. To this end, the postholder is expected to have excellent communication with the Director, and be able to participate in complex, high level discussions with the non-executive directors and other stakeholders about the future of RJ4All. Initiative, loyalty, and innovation are attributes that are highly valued at RJ4All. 

Key Tasks 

• Lead on the management of RJ4All’s UK Operations especially those run from the Rotherhithe Community Centre, ensuring its facilities meet government regulations and environmental, health and security standards. 

• To line manage the Community Project Coordinators and Officers, the Fitness team, administrators, finance support staff, interns and volunteers. 

• To lead on drafting applications for funding from government, trusts and foundations, donors and sponsors for UK programmes and services. 

• To lead on managing and delivering of all services running out of the Community Centre including the RJ4All Sports branch, Community Gym, YouthClubs+, Foodbank, and Community Library 

• To lead on creating and monitoring the UK Operations’ Theory of Change on annual basis, and review it against available data and individual projects’ Theory of Change. 

Qualifications 

Essential 

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences or related

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in a relevant field such as equalities or crime prevention 

• Experience in non-profit, CIC, or small business environment

• Experience in managing paid and volunteering personnel

• Demonstrated experience in fundraising 

• Experience in writing and monitoring budgets 

• Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to contribute to decision-making and planning 

• Willingness to learn and develop as a leader, inspire others and self, motivate and set own priorities 

Desirable 

• Master's Degree in Social Sciences or related 

• Certified trainings in restorative justice and other relevant areas 

• Knowledge of the HMRC and UK tax regulations and best practices 

Customer Service and Administration Officer

Hours: 28 to 35 hours per week

What is the role?

This a 12 Month Maternity contract.

Working within our values and behavioural framework, the role involves closely managing the relationships of our partner organisations (known as Licensed Organisations – LOs) and ensuring those within your portfolio offer quality and inclusive DofE programmes to young people.

While managing these relationships across your portfolio area in Newcastle, Northumberland and South Tyneside, you will also identify and develop new relationships with appropriate educational and community organisations to widen the access of the DofE to young people, particularly those who experience marginalisation.

You will be undertaking regular meetings, in person and virtually, engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders at different levels within different organisations across your portfolio area. When not out at meetings, you will be working from home.

About the role:
This hybrid role is based in Brighton & Hove, which includes a combination of home and office-based working. You will meet regularly with young clients throughout Brighton & Hove at safe locations of their choosing.

As a Children and Young Person's Housing IDVA you will:

Empower young survivors and support them to identify features and dynamics of domestic abuse
Work with young survivors aged 16-25 years, with a particular focus on cases where housing, homelessness and risk of tenancy breakdown is a factor
Hold a caseload of varying complexity, prioritising high risk cases
Conduct comprehensive needs and risk assessments
Participate in the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC), acting as the voice of the young person and delivering on actions agreed
Attend multi-disciplinary meetings, including child protection, child in need and others
Use a person-centred, survivor-focused approach, being mindful of the effects of trauma and additional barriers to accessing safe accommodation that children and young people may experience
Take the lead on the development of responses to the needs of at-risk young survivors with a housing need, and the development of relationships and referral pathways with partner agencies in this area
Assist in delivering training, and provide workshops, consultancy and advice to other agencies as required

You will need:

An understanding of the issues faced by young survivors experiencing domestic abuse
A good understanding of housing legislation and accommodation options for young people experiencing housing insecurity, including social housing, private rented, and emergency placement
A good understanding of risk assessment, safety planning & risk management for children and young people at risk of domestic abuse
An understanding of safeguarding issues & the legal responsibilities surrounding these
Experience of working within a multi-agency and legislative framework
Experience of managing a complex caseload, prioritising work and dealing with competing demands demonstrating an organised and methodical approach to work
Ability to deliver indvidualised safety and support plans, demonstrating sufficient knowledge of risk reduction regarding harmful practices and modern slavery
Ability to deliver training sessions to professional agencies
Understanding and knowledge of and active commitment to promoting equal opportunities and diversity

The Financial Transactions Supervisor provides support to the finance team and is responsible for ensuring all financial transactions are processed in an efficient and effective way, and bad debt is kepy to a minimum. 

Proven exprience in a similar role is essential along with practical experience of working on both purchase and sales ledgers. Good communication skills with the ability to explain finanical processes to non-finance managers is required. 

This is a fixed term contracted expected to last approximately 12 months to cover a period of maternity leave. 

Main duties include

1. Timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices
2. Raise customer invoices (including event settlements) and ensure debt is collected and recovered
3. Supervise and support the weekly paymet run
4. Line management responsibility for Accounts Payable Assistant
5. Ensure sub-ledger reconciliations are completely 
6. Review all Aged Creditor listings on a bi-monthly basis and take appropriate action
7. Review Aged Debtors monthly and apply credit control procedures for outstanding debt collection

Role purpose:

This role is focused on managing the content strategy for ShelterBox’s international websites. Putting the user at the heart of every decision, the role will produce high-performing web copy, develop and optimise user journeys, and share insights across the Fundraising and Communications department.

Our vision for this role is to create best in class website content that other charities look up to. In addition to maintaining our relationships with existing supporters, we want to use our network of websites to acquire new supporters of ShelterBox, earn more engagement from younger audiences, achieve more frequent donations and get supporters to talk positively about supporting ShelterBox without prompting.

The successful candidate will join a friendly and ambitious team and play a key role in helping to make ShelterBox a global name. The role is full of variety, working with other teams within the organisation to deliver a range of strategic projects.

Who are we looking for?

ShelterBox is seeking a bright, motivated and proactive individual with a minimum of 2 years' experience working in a copywriting or website content producer role.

You will be plugged into the digital world and should have a focus on innovation, helping us to spot trends to engage audiences and test new approaches.

Excellent writing skills, grammar and knowledge of the English language are essential, as is an understanding of different audience needs. You should be able to adopt different tones and styles of writing when supporting projects from both our international programmes around the world and fundraising campaigns – from explaining the latest developments in the Syrian war to persuading people to take part in our latest fundraising campaign. You will be able to clearly convey ideas in a compelling and concise manner and bring passion and excitement when it is needed. Attention to detail is crucial.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

Best in class content

· Produce best-in-class website copy and content that speaks to our different audiences

· Create high performing website pages with powerful and engaging copy and content to support fundraising and communications campaigns and appeals, helping to increase engagement and donations

· Ensure all webpages are visually optimised in line with our brand guidelines and look as beautiful as possible

· Plan and deliver the ShelterBox blog, increasing engagement and organic traffic

· Update and maintain existing website content, including case studies, country pages, and evergreen content, to ensure information is always up to date and performing well

· Provide training for fundraising teams to develop web copywriting skills

Planning, testing and auditing

· Create a website content plan that answers user needs, attracts new traffic to the website and improves SEO rankings

· Perform SEO audits, keyword research and monitor search rankings across the website

· Perform contents audits, identifying areas for improvement across current website and identify areas for improvement or the introduction of new content to the site.  

· Build tests and implement learnings into content plans, using split testing and optimisation tools.

· Ensure website content is meeting user needs, running web surveys, putting the user at the heart of our content

· Analyse web content using tools like Google Analytics (GA4) and insight tools like Hotjar

· Define, develop and building reporting to help optimise supporter journeys

· Share insights, findings and best practice to ensure wider teams know and understand what is working well and how this can improve their areas of work

· Have an innovation focus with a willingness to fail, identifying and testing new products and trends with a view to increasing audience reach and engagement

International support

· Support our smaller affiliate websites by monitoring their content, prompting and helping those teams to update their pages

· Share our high-quality web content to all affiliate networks

· Support teams to improve quality of content with SEO training and recommendations.

· Share best practice insights, advice and training to all affiliate teams
