Having recently appointed a new Chair, the Fairtrade Foundation is now looking for its next CEO. This is a broad, varied role, bringing together elements of front-facing advocacy, transformational business partnerships, producer community empowerment, organisational leadership and big-picture systemic change. In brief, the role of our CEO will be to make sure we always know where we’re going and how to get there, ensuring that Fairtrade is grounded in achieving impact and justice for farmers, workers and communities around the world.

As a multidisciplinary organisation, we are looking for an adaptable, strategic CEO with keen commercial acumen. With partners and stakeholders from politicians to media, from retailers to farmers and workers, it will be important for our CEO to regularly adapt to new contexts while weaving common threads through all our work, relentlessly championing the vision and mission of Fairtrade.

Our CEO will be a key steward of our culture and will ensure that we remain cohesive and responsive to the needs of the communities with whom we are proud to partner. High degrees of emotional intelligence and influencing skills with clear decision-making ability will stand our CEO in good stead.

Perhaps most importantly, we are looking for a CEO who shares our passion for an equitable and sustainable trade system, who can bring commitment and vision to co-creating a future world fairer to people and planet.

We operate a hybrid working model, with staff spending roughly 1 to 3 days in our London office per week. As CEO, some international travel will be required, including ad hoc trips to Fairtrade origin countries.

This is a part-time position offering flexible hours (21 hours per week) to attract the best candidate. Reporting directly to the Board of Trustees, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to our dedicated team. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Deliver our Strategic plan: Collaborate with the Board and staff  to  implement  our compelling strategic vision for the project, ensuring alignment with our vision, mission and operational objectives.
• Financial Sustainability: Spearhead fundraising initiatives, secure diverse funding streams, and manage budgets effectively to ensure the charity’s  long-term financial health. This will include a strong focus on grants, bid  writing and cultivating relationships with funding partners.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee the effective delivery of all programmes and projects, ensuring high-quality standards and compliance with relevant statutory requirements, policies and procedures.
• Team Leadership: Foster a positive and supportive work environment that empowers staff, promotes professional development, and encourages creativity and innovation.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, community partners, parents, families, funders, and the public, effectively communicating the charity’s  impact.

About You:

The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of leadership skills, experience, and a genuine commitment to our mission. Essential criteria include:

• Proven Leadership: Minimum 2 years of experience in a senior leadership role, ideally within the charity sector, demonstrating successful organisational management, strategic planning, board  and team leadership.
• Financial Acumen: Extensive experience in financial planning, budgeting, bid writing  and securing funding for charitable organisations, with a proven track record in results and diversifying income streams.
• Collaborative Approach: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships, inspire teams, and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

At Refugee Action Kingston (RAK) we're dedicated to helping the successful integration of refugees and people seeking asylum into the local community. With over three decades of experience, we provide a comprehensive range of services including welfare support, immigration and legal advice, education, counselling, and career guidance.  

RAK employs 15 staff and currently has nearly 200 volunteers. In 2023/24 more than 2,000 people benefited from our services: 

• 1,171 clients accessed advice and advocacy services, including immigration advice 

• 305 clients attended our ESOL classes 

• 250 children, young people and families benefited from our after-school and family support services 

• 61 people were supported by our counselling team

Design in Mental Health Network is a registered charity, which aims to improve mental health outcomes by promoting knowledge exchange, co-production involving the voice of people with Lived Experience and challenging the status quo of mental health design.

We are a network of experts whose perspectives, thoughts, insights, opinions are grounded in research, professional qualification and/or lived experience.  The collective includes a wide range of stakeholders involved in planning for, designing, building, managing and using spaces that impact on our mental health.

We believe the better the design brief is in determining and matching the evidenced needs of all users, the better the goal of improving the actual design of settings to support better mental health care and patient outcomes will be. 

Good design facilitates human connection (therapeutic/supportive relationships) and to this end we advocate to engage and influence people with decision making capabilities and/or budget control, to understand how to use existing resources more effectively in leading to better mental health outcomes.

We want to actively challenge the status quo, using research and our design skills to reimagine radical new ways of approaching mental health care that improve the outcomes for patients and make these spaces better places to work for the staff on the front line.  We’ll always do this from the view of what is best for the person receiving care, using the built environment as a platform for lasting stabilisation or recovery from mental ill health.

About Animal Action Greece

Founded in 1959, we are Greece's oldest national animal welfare organisation. Our mission is to improve the lives of Greece's homeless and vulnerable animals. Leadership

· Strive to ensure that the charitable purposes of IPWSO are followed and that it delivers the public benefit set out in its governing document.
