Role purpose
The Centre of Excellence is WorldSkills UK’s flagship programme, dedicated to transforming the quality of teaching, learning, and assessment across Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). This pioneering programme drives innovation and raises standards by delivering world-class training and development opportunities for educators, ultimately enhancing outcomes for learners and ensuring the UK’s global competitiveness in skills excellence. As Senior Workforce Development Manager, you will lead the programme management of the Centre of Excellence, playing a pivotal role in advancing its mission. You’ll oversee a growing network of member institutions committed to achieving excellence by integrating international expertise and best practices from around the globe. Your leadership will ensure the Centre of Excellence influences every aspect of teaching, learning, and assessment, setting new benchmarks that elevate the quality of education across the sector.
Key tasks and responsibilities
1. Programme management:
Provide effective programme management ensuring the Centre of Excellence operates at the highest standards, with strategic oversight of all workstreams, including stakeholder engagement, resource management, and performance monitoring.
• Leading the programme’s strategic planning and execution, ensuring that all workstreams—including budget management, timelines, and resource allocation—are closely aligned with overall objectives. Proactively address challenges to maintain programme momentum and achieve milestones effectively.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to support programme success. Facilitate effective communication and alignment across teams, partners, and member institutions, promoting active engagement and collaboration throughout all programme phases.
• Establishing and overseeing a robust framework for monitoring and evaluating programme performance, focusing on impact assessment and continuous improvement. Provide regular reports on outcomes and insights, manage risks to ensure programme goals are met, and utilise evaluation data to inform strategic adjustments that enhance programme effectiveness.
• Overseeing the marketing and communication activity to promote the programme, ensuring it is visible and well-positioned among key audiences and stakeholders. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns that highlight programme achievements, generate interest, and enhance engagement within the Centre of Excellence network and wider education and skills sector.
2. Network member Management:
Lead and execute a comprehensive member engagement strategy, driving value through targeted onboarding, recognition programmes, and an evolving account management framework to foster long-term member satisfaction and retention. Oversee tracking and analysis to inform strategic improvements and identify growth opportunities that align with the Centre of Excellence’s mission to expand impact.
• Developing and implementing a member engagement strategy, ensuring that institutions gain significant value from their involvement in the Centre of Excellence to include a recognition and awards programme to reward and celebrate members’ excellent practice and engagement with the Centre of Excellence.
• Providing strategic oversight to the enrolment and validation process for new members, ensuring that new institutions meet the Centre of Excellence’s standards, and work closely with the Network Member Manager to streamline onboarding, guaranteeing a positive initial experience that sets the stage for long-term involvement.
• Overseeing the tracking and evaluation of member engagement, using data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Provide regular updates on membership retention, engagement levels, and impact to leadership, and work with the Network Member Manager to develop strategies based on these insights.
• Identifying growth opportunities and enhancements to the programme offerings that can address emerging industry needs, supporting the Centre of Excellence’s mission and expanding its reach and impact.
3. Workforce Development:
The Senior Workforce Development Manager will lead a team of High Performance Skills Coaches to design, implement, and continuously improve a world-class teacher training programme. By incorporating global insights and innovative practices, this role ensures that the programme enhances teaching quality and raises educator capacity to deliver world-class education.
• Utilising insights from international benchmarking and emerging trends from global partners to incorporate cutting-edge methodologies and world-class standards into the teacher training programme.
• Leading a team of Skills Coaches to guide the development and delivery of high impact teacher training experiences, focusing on practical and solutions focussed strategies underpinned by international best practice that improve teaching, learning, and assessment.
• Overseeing the planning and scheduling of training activities to align with the academic calendar, ensuring that sessions are well-timed and accessible to educators throughout the year. Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications teams to promote training opportunities, generate demand, and expand programme reach, actively engaging member institutions and their teaching staff.
• Establishing robust tracking and evaluation systems to monitor programme outcomes, using data to measure the effectiveness of training content and delivery. Analyse engagement and impact metrics to inform ongoing improvements, ensuring alignment with Centre of Excellence goals and maintaining the programme’s reputation for excellence.
4. General responsibilities for a Senior Manager

This role is office based (as above) but with flexible hybrid working. It is expected the postholder will attend the office at least once or twice a week.

Major Responsibilities:
Leadership and Representation

• Work closely with the Head of Strategy and Impact to support the programme team with regarding tools and strategies to ensure that programming is based on input from communities, local partners and local/national stakeholders, a thorough understanding of the context, and technical best practices
• Work with Director of Programmes and colleagues in the country programme to identify funding opportunities and support the development of competitive, responsive proposals; meet with potential partners (and donors as appropriate) to discuss current and potential funding opportunities.
• Work with the Senior Management Team to develop programme budgets, which reflect a detailed understanding of situational parameters, beneficiary needs, available resources and technical possibilities including partnership capabilities.
• Working collaboratively with the Senior Management Team, support MEAL approaches to adapt and implement appropriate monitoring and evaluation systems that enhance programme quality, increase effectiveness and measure results.
Staff Performance Management and Development
• Supervise and mentor direct-report staff, including communicating clear expectations, setting performance objectives, establishing a supportive environment while emphasizing accountability, providing regular and timely constructive performance feedback, and leading documented semi-annual performance reviews.

Job Requirements:
· Educated to degree level, masters in a relevant subject would be desirable.

· Strong diplomatic and coordination skills.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Director to join RedR and its Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to oversee the efficient and effective functioning of our organisation's key operational areas, including Operations, People Management, Finance, Security and Compliance. The Associate Director will play a pivotal role as part of the SLT in ensuring the smooth implementation of our humanitarian programmes while upholding the highest standards of excellence, accountability, integrity, collaboration and lifelong learning.
You will have a deep understanding of how to deliver programmes in a humanitarian context in a safe, secure and compliant manner. You will enhance delivery through standard operating procedures across the organisation and lead by doing.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Management
You will lead a finance team of 2 (both part-time), responsible for excellent financial management, controls, reporting, budgeting, and auditing (both internal and external) including:
- Maintaining up-to-date financial records, including processing invoices, payments, and managing accounts payable and receivable.
- Month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, managing cashflow.
- Oversee payroll processing and reimbursement procedures.
- Analysis of financial data and preparation of reports for leadership review.
- Set standards for programme staff on financial budgeting and reporting
- Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and best practices.
- Lead the improvement of finance and accounting processes and systems.
- Prepare consolidated Financial Statements in accordance with Charity SORP FRS 102.
- Lead on external audits to ensure that all external audit requirements are met in the UK and Jordan and associated statutory reporting (e.g. to HMRC).
- Lead on regular internal audits and apply learnings in improving systems.
- Lead on fraud and corruption prevention and response, and cyber security.
- Work with SLT and business teams to prepare UK and overseas regulatory annual reporting.

You will systematically enhance, streamline and optimise operational processes and systems to enhance delivery and security of people. Oak National Academy is an independent public body, funded by the Department for Education. We help improve the quality of curriculum teachers teach and pupils access, and lower teacher workload from lesson planning. We achieve this by providing free access to thousands of teacher-made, fully-sequenced teaching resources, aligned to the national curriculum, and inspiration and advice for schools on how to design their own curriculum.
We are looking for new members to join our Board as Non-Executive Directors. The role will require a commitment of up to 20 days per year (with some in-person meetings in London). Remuneration at the rate of £316 per day.

Green Corridor requires the skills of an enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistant, who can work effectively with our learners who each have their own additional needs. The candidate we require should ideally have experience and/or affinity for working with young adults with Special Educational Needs. The role would involve supporting learners within their subject area, and functional skills, encouraging them to reach their full potential.
Specific duties and responsibilities of the role
Supporting Young People
- To work with the tutor to establish an appropriate learning environment.
- To work with the tutor on lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lesson/work plans as appropriate.
- To monitor and evaluate learners’ responses to learning activities through observations and planned recording of achievement against learning objectives.
- To use specialist skills to support learners’ learning such as PECS, Makaton, symbols and iPads.
- To assist with the development, implementation and evaluation of learning programmes and individual work plans.
- To prepare and assist in the preparation of the classroom, resources and equipment.
- To establish productive working relationships with learners acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
- Communicating with learners with varying degrees of speech and language difficulties, using communicative system/equipment where necessary.
- To promote inclusion and acceptance of all learners within the classroom and across Green Corridor.
- To support learners consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs
- To encourage individual learners to interact and work co-operatively with others whilst engaging in activities.
- To promote independence and employ strategies to recognise and acknowledge achievement and self-reliance.
- To provide feedback to learners in relation to progress and achievement and to provide accurate, evidenced and objective feedback and reports to the tutor.
- To be responsible for keeping and updating records with the tutor and other staff, contributing to reviews as requested.
- To liaise with specialists (such as SALT, OT and Physio) and follow their advice for safety, learning and therapy programmes, as appropriate.
Wellbeing and Safeguarding
- Meet with parents and carers as part of maintaining positive relationships and the full implementation of the Green Corridor’s values and ethos.
- To promote Green Corridor’s values, positive attitudes and good learner behaviour, dealing promptly with conflicts and incidents in line with established policies and procedures, encouraging learners to take responsibility for their own behaviour.
- To supervise learners on visits, trips and out-of-school activities as required
- To support breaktime/lunches and lunchtime supervision within employed hours
- Administer first aid as appropriate
- To carry out Team Teach/MAPA if required
Professional Development
- To participate in 30 hours CPD per year specific to the needs of learners and Green Corridor, including working towards appropriate qualifications needed to perform your role.
- To keep your own individual Professional Development Plan up to date.
Other duties
- Undertake any other task identified as being necessary to fulfil contract requirements or the requirements of an individual support.
- The post holder will be required to undertake other appropriate activities related to achieving the organisations objectives, as determined by the CEO or your line manager.
Essential person specification
- Level 2 Award in Education and Training or willingness to work towards.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Enhanced DBS clearance

Senior Policy Advisor - Childrens Social Care
Salary: £38,000 to £42,000 per annum pro rata plus Inner London allowance pro rata.
Location: London or Homebased (with frequent travel to our London Office)
Contract: Fixed Term Contract -12 months, Full-time - 35 hours per week.

- Function as Action for Children's expert in key policy priority areas leading on the development of strategic influencing priorities.
- Establish collaborative working with colleagues to develop effective campaign design and activity.
- Ensure all Action for Children's evidence gathering, research and policy work across the UK has the child at the centre.
- Provide expert advice on key policy priorities across Action for Children, ensuring that the Chief Executive and senior colleagues are informed and resourced with the relevant information.
- Manage a diverse and challenging workload progressing policy and research projects from design to delivery, including commissioned work through external researchers, networks and academic institutions. Undertake research activities using a range of approaches, including qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with senior civil servants, politicians, academics and opinion formers, working proactively.
- Work proactively with colleagues in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland to share policy and research expertise.
