The Finance and Operations Officer will provide general support to the Head of Finance and Operations across the following areas: 

Office Management

• Managing day-to-day relationship with landlord

• Ensuring office meets all health & safety requirements

• Managing purchases of stationery and office equipment 

• Booking meeting rooms

• Organising catering for internal meetings 

• Supporting with new office search and move to new premises

• Liaising with utility, cleaning and security providers in new premises if required

Human Resources

• Liaising with the external HR providers regarding employee documents

• Maintaining  employee personnel records ensuring that all annual leave and sick leave is recorded correctly

• Assisting in the recruitment of new posts

• Onboarding and welcoming new employees, including ensuring newcomers have the necessary IT and office equipment and access to the required IT systems 

• Coordinate annual staff surveys and collate responses

Operations

• Assisting the CEO and the wider team with administrative tasks

• Liaising with our external IT providers to ensuring all IT equipment is functioning and replaced when required

• Organising away days and other large meetings 

• Reviewing/renewing supplier contracts annually (including insurance provider)

Governance

• Organising Trustee meetings 

• Attending and taking notes at specific meetings (e.g. Trustee, Advisory Board, team away days)

• Updating the Charity Commission for changes in Trustees and submission of annual returns 

• Ensuring all policy documents are up to date and reviewed within the correct time frame 

Finance

• Processing invoices and expenses and coordinating twice monthly payment runs

• Reconciliation of the monthly corporate card bills

• Keeping the fixed asset register up-to-date

• Bank account administration 

• Collation of information for the auditors

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following skills and experiences: 

Essential

• Reliable, trustworthy and discreet

• Excellent organisational skills

• Confident user of Microsoft or Google packages, in particular excel spreadsheets or google sheets, Word or google docs

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Good numeracy skills 

Desirable

• Previous experience as personal assistant or office manager

• Demonstrable interest in mental health and other key issues on which the charity works

• Previous bookkeeping experience including use of accounting software 

• Comfortable using IT systems generally (e.g. online banking, web-based platforms)

Terms and Conditions

• Location: Money and Mental Health’s central London office for at least 2 days per week with option for home working the rest of the time. The office is wheelchair accessible.

• Hours: 3 to 4 days (22.5 to 30 hours) a week. The charity has a flexible working policy with core hours of 10am - 3pm and remaining contracted hours distributed throughout the week flexibly. We are open to discussing other flexible arrangements, such as accommodating school runs.

• Holidays: 28 days p.a. (including 3 days of annual leave between Christmas and New Year when the office is closed) plus bank holidays, adjusted for the part-time nature of this post and therefore calculated on a pro rata basis.

What we are looking for:

· Achievement of a recognised, fully qualified professional Accountancy qualification (for example, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) 

· A dynamic and experienced individual, with proven experience in a senior financial management role, ideally within the charity sector

· Proficient in preparing, analysing and presenting financial statements (income statement, balance sheet and cashflow statement).

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain financial processes to non-financial staff.

· Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making

· Proven IT skills, including a high-level proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, with a strong knowledge of Excel’s functions and formulas

Role Requirements

Reporting to the Senior Engineer, the Plumber will use their vast experience, skill, and knowledge from previous roles to deliver exceptional plumbing services to the estate, ensuring the efficient operation and safety of all electrical systems and associated items in compliance with current standards and regulations.

Ensuring requirements of Children, young people, parents, staff and visitors are met at all times the role will be responsible for carrying out planned maintenance tasks in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule and also for installation, investigation, diagnosis and fault finding on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment, including, but not limited to heating and hot water systems, hot and cold-water services, air conditioning, air handling and ventilation equipment, drainage and rainwater system and control systems. To add variety to your day, you'll also be assigned other duties through the help desk. These tasks will diversify your workload and ensure your role remains dynamic and engaging.

Provide and receive routine and complex information to inform colleagues and other personnel. Be knowledgeable and conversant with technical issues and communicate and explain those to colleagues.

The role holder will assist in the supervision and monitoring of maintenance work carried out by contracts ensuring at all times their own work and that is contractors is within the statutory guidelines the role will ensure a quality customer service and delivery of outcomes within expected SLAs.

About the role

We are excited to be advertising this newly created role as part of WGN’s growth. This role will be the lead on the finance function. Reporting into the Director of Finance and Resources, the role works closely with stakeholders across the organisation including executive leadership, with a specific focus on working closely with the Director and external auditors. The role will have two direct reports – Finance Business Partner and Finance Officer. This is a hands-on role and will have full responsibility for the finance function on a day to day and medium-term basis. The Financial Controller is to lead on all financial systems set up and upgrades.

The Brent Centre for Young People is the leading mental health charity for young people in Northwest London, helping over 700 young people a year with a wide range of issues. Fundraising at BCYP

BCYP has historically been very successful in raising funds from non-statutory sources, particularly trusts and foundations, and is grateful to hold a number of established relationships with grant- makers. We work hard to ensure that we submit excellent, data-driven applications and evaluations.  This is a new role at the DEC and developed as a key part of the DEC’s 2024-2029 strategy. The DEC has a wide range of established relationships with trusts and foundations, many of which give 6- and 7-figure sums to DEC appeals. The Trusts & Foundations Manager will be responsible for providing excellent stewardship to our portfolio of trusts and foundations. In addition, the role will also be responsible for cultivating new relationships for the DEC through thorough research, and through the prospect development cycle, to raise money for DEC appeals. In addition to appeal fundraising, the Trusts & Foundations Manager will be responsible for delivering on a new core cost fundraising strategy, in close partnership with the Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships.

Demonstrable, transferable trusts and foundations experience and knowledge, (preferably within the humanitarian & charity sector), will hold you in good stead for this exciting new role.

Key responsibilities include:

Strategic Development: Develop and manage the trusts and foundations portfolio and create compelling proposals for future appeals and core costs income. Showcase new ideas and innovative approaches for growing and developing a pipeline of new prospects. Develop engaging stewardship plans.  

Administrative Compliance: Lead and manage, robust and professional grant management, ensuring systems and processes are fit for purpose, streamlined and accessible. Position Overview

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a key member of our leadership team responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organisation. The COO will work closely with the CEO and SMT to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the charity by playing a pivotal role in overseeing various aspects of our operations, including compliance, safeguarding, operations and team management, finance, human resources, IT, and administrative functions.

The ideal candidate will be a results-driven, strategic thinker with a strong background in non-profit management and a passion for our cause.

We are looking for candidates that have a positive outlook, strong resilience and the ability to adapt easily to changing responsibilities and challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Programme Management:

- Supervise staff and ensure the effective delivery of our programs and services.

- Develop and implement program evaluation mechanisms to measure the impact of our initiatives.

2. Human Resources:

- Lead the HR function, including talent acquisition, staff development, and performance management.

- Foster a positive and inclusive organisational culture that aligns with our mission and values.

- They will provide leadership across the organisation and ensure that each team member is well supported and professionally managed

3. Technology and Infrastructure:

- Ensure the charity has the necessary technology and infrastructure to support its operations.

- Identify and implement IT solutions to enhance efficiency and data security.

4. Compliance and Reporting:

- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.

- Prepare and present regular reports to the Board of  Trustees and stakeholders on organisational performance.

5. Stakeholder and Partnership Engagement

- Represent the charity at public events and engage with key stakeholders to promote our mission.

Qualifications & Experience

· Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Master's degree preferred).

· 5+ years proven experience in senior operational roles within the non-profit sector

· Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams 

· Exceptional organisational and project management abilities.

· Demonstrable experience in budgeting, financial management, and people leadership 

· Excellent line management skills with the ability to work across a multi-disciplinary team of virtual working staff.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

· Commitment to the charity's mission and values.

· Knowledge of mental health and wellbeing with experience working with individuals in mental health preferable

· An appreciation of how to handle sensitive and confidential issues.

· Knowledge of  compliance, risk management, charity regulations, policies and government guidelines.

· Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and inclusive environment.

· Excellent strategic planning and execution capabilities 

· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills 

· Proficiency in using technology and data to drive operational improvements

Our small, ambitious team works in a collaborative and supportive way. A big focus of the role is prioritisation and planning, so you’ll support the Director of Programmes, Head of Impact & Effectiveness and wider team to prioritise, forward plan, manage diaries and prepare for meetings. This is a great role for someone wanting to develop their administrative experience and exposure to board and executive level working. You will have responsibility for supporting a Trustee level grant making committee. You’ll get exposure to the strategic overview of the Charity and insight into managing teams, grant-making and charity operations. You’ll quickly see the impact you can make within the team to improve our effectiveness and ways of working; and what we’re working to achieve as a charity. 

Maudsley Charity works primarily with South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London, as well as a range of voluntary and community organisations to fund ideas, big and small, that drive service improvement and support people who experience mental illness. 

The Charity operates primarily within the four boroughs served by South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark), but the work we fund has the potential for wider impact at both national and international levels, through the sharing of the outcomes with the wider mental health community. The Charity is committed to ongoing development and learning about how to make an impact. Finance and Resources Manager (Full Time)

Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse (AAFDA) was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003.  

Each year, around 150 families lose a loved one to domestic homicide. The actual number of suicides as a result of domestic abuse remains unknown. AAFDA’s prime function is to provide families in England and Wales with specialist peer support and expert and specialist advocacy for the range of statutory reviews that will take place after domestic homicide.

As a growing charity, AAFDA is looking for an exceptional candidate to join our supportive team and lead our finance and resource management functions. The role will provide and manage the HR, administration and finance activities of the charity and sit within the Senior Leadership Team.

We are seeking a skilled, dedicated and experienced financial lead to ensure careful financial management of our organisations, and to oversee our work with a number of partner organisations to which we outsource operational services. 

The Movement for Reform Judaism and Liberal Judaism are separate organisations, which are currently working towards coming together as one charity. The successful candidate will initially be employed by the Movement for Reform Judaism, working closely with Liberal Judaism as a partner organisation. 

A qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA), who is a strong multi-tasker, you will have a proven track record of leading a team and working in partnership with colleagues.  This senior role will be responsible for finance and risk for MRJ and LJ, as well as providing accounts, budgets, overseeing audits for 3 other related charities, with an overall combined turnover of £10m.

Using your wealth of experience, excellent financial analysis and management expertise, you be responsible for the timely delivery of management and financial accounts together with the identification and mitigation of risk. You will be both hands-on and will oversee the finance department. 

You will be a key member of the senior team working to bring MRJ and LJ together, responsible for ensuring a smooth and seamless financial transition.  Working closely with colleagues and lay leaders, you will develop and implement key strategies within your area for the newly formed organisation.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop long-lasting working relationships with colleagues, trustees and stakeholders.  You must be confident to participate and present at Board meetings.
