The Role: In this pivotal position, you'll design and execute a fundraising strategy for Pennyhooks Farm Trust to secure and meet ongoing revenue targets. In addition, you will work on an urgent and vital capital project to secure essential funding to develop residential accommodation on the farm, to sustain the purposeful working of these young people as they grow older, providing them with a home and a job for life. This will be through the management of a portfolio of major donor, foundation and corporate projects, high-level volunteers and other influential individuals and organisations, working with Trustees and other farm team members.

Their main role is to provide one to one advice to clients referred through the charity’s Warm and Safe Homes helpline and to deliver energy advice presentations to groups. They also get involved in a range of tasks to support these activities. Energy Advisers sit within the Communities Directorate and are part of a dynamic and caring team of professionals who go the extra mile to support their clients, some of whom may be in difficult circumstances.

What you will need to succeed
Working within our Communities Directorate you will have demonstrable experience of delivering Energy Advice and helping others. Therefore, it is vital that you have empathy, confidence and knowledge of the issues facing vulnerable low-income households.
You will have knowledge and understanding of the environmental, social and economic problems of deprived areas and the roles of the public, private and voluntary sectors in tackling them.
You will also have knowledge of assistance available for energy efficiency improvements to low-income households.
You will be an excellent communicator, with proven experience and understanding of how to effectively address the energy needs of low income, vulnerable or disadvantaged householders – with the desire to make a positive difference to people’s lives.

- Ensure that the impact of SDC work is demonstrated and articulated to internal and external audiences, including contributions to fundraising and advocacy campaigns and materials and representing the service to external audiences.
- Look for opportunities to innovate and work with internal and external colleagues to develop new programmes of work to meet community need; implementing and evaluating pilot projects and, if successful, embedding them within the central service.
- Analyse performance data to evaluate service design, developing new or improved processes and procedures to ensure we are effective, efficient and focused on community outcomes.

- Take responsibility for collating reports internally for the Senior Leadership Team and Trustees and externally for funders as required.

- Manage SDC’s day-to-day operations and its resources in accordance with CCS policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and good practice in all aspects of the charity’s work.

As Grants Administrator you will process all applications for Grants; assessing initial proposals, liaising with grant applicants at all stages of the process and presenting full, completed applications to the Trustees three times a year. You will also monitor the use of grants by successful applicants by requesting written reports, reviewing information received and, when necessary visiting recipients to review and assess progress against expectations and the conditions imposed on the use of grant awards.
The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding and proven working knowledge of a Grants Management function, and duties involved and will have previously worked with a grants management system. Previous experience working within a grant making environment with administrative experience in the same or a related field is key, as is the ability to work to deadlines, be highly organised able to prioritise workloads.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join the BFYC team to support young carers in West Oxfordshire.
Working closely with the youth work team, you will help to provide support and advice to young carers by devising, developing, implementing and managing a programme of social activities for young carers (this could include trips, training, emotional 121 support and other activities).
Job Description - Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support for Young Carers, liaising with other agencies to help ensure the best outcomes for Young Carers;
- Establish relationships with schools across West Oxfordshire offering them support in how they identify and respond to the needs of young carers in their classrooms.
- Assist schools in launching Young Carers Groups and introducing Young Carer Leads in their settings.
- Contribute towards awareness raising events and activities to increase the identification and support of Young Carers, including liaison with Schools and community group;
- Liaise and work with colleagues to empower Young Carers and their families;
- Play a role in the assessment of Young Carers as part of the Common Assessment Framework (CAF), Team around the Child (TAC), Young Carers assessments, and assessments carried out by other professionals;
- Develop the active participation of Young Carers, enabling their voice to be heard;
- Support Young Carers and their families to access appropriate support services;
- Record all casework contact information and ensure that all appropriate consent forms, assessments, Baseline Forms, and other required information and administration is completed and recorded for all Young Carers;

Key Responsibilities:
1. Management and Delivery
• Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of training in woodwork, metalwork and other Arts.
• Ensure the training meets the educational and personal development needs of vulnerable young people.
• Monitor student progress, providing support to overcome barriers and ensuring high-quality, impactful learning experiences.
• Develop new initiatives and adapt the existing training programme to meet the evolving needs of students, schools and the community.
• Develop a long term strategy for Skillway

2. Leadership and Staff Management

• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all participants and staff including responsibility for risk assessments.

3. Strategic Planning and Development
• Work with the Board of Trustees to develop and execute the charity's strategic goals.
• Develop and manage the charity’s budget and resources to ensure financial sustainability and impact.
• Identify and pursue new opportunities for growth, including partnerships, new funding streams, and collaborations with local schools, businesses, and other community organisations.
• Develop an IT Strategy for the charity for the storage of key data and management reporting
• Support the other arm of our charity “The Camino Cafe” as and when required.
4. Fundraising and Financial Oversight
• Lead fundraising efforts to secure funding from diverse sources, including grants, donations, corporate sponsorships, and fundraising events.
• Oversee the preparation of funding applications and reports for donors and grant-making bodies.
• Maintain financial oversight, ensuring effective use of resources, monitoring expenses, and reporting financial performance to the Board, using “Quickbooks” as the primary accounting and reporting tool.
• Increase the charity’s social media presence.
• Improve branding and awareness of Skillway’s and it’s aims and purpose.
5. Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, schools, community groups, donors, and business partners.
• Represent the charity in public and at events, advocating for the charity's mission and the importance of vocational education for vulnerable young people.
• Ensure the charity’s work is widely known and respected in the community.
6. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
• Implement systems for monitoring and evaluating the success of the training programmes
• Gather feedback from participants, staff, and stakeholders to assess programme effectiveness and make improvements.
• Provide regular updates and reports to the Board of Trustees, funders, and other stakeholders on the charity’s impact and outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
• Proven experience in a management role, ideally within the charity or education sector.
• Background in vocational education, youth work, or a related field, with a focus on supporting vulnerable young people.
• Experience in leading and managing a diverse team, with the ability to inspire, support, and develop staff.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
• Demonstrated ability in fundraising, securing grants, and building donor relationships.
• Knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and reporting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
• A commitment to the mission and values of the charity.
Desirable:
• Experience in working with metalwork or woodworking, or a related technical skill.
