Your new role

The Corporate Fundraising Manager role is instrumental in driving the charities' mission forward by creating, managing and expanding their portfolio of corporate partnerships. The main responsibility is to produce business proposals using knowledge of fundraising strategies, donor development and grant writing. Other duties include:

• Research, approach and secure new corporate partnerships
• Fostering strategic relationships with corporate sponsors and donors
• Create and present compelling business proposals and pitches that are tailored to stakeholders to secure funding
• Evaluate the progress of fundraising campaigns, reporting key metrics to stakeholders
• Clearly communicate fundraising goals to stakeholders and corporate partners
• Act as an ambassador for the organisation, representing the charity at external events and other networking opportunities
• Undertake public speaking engagements and present to potential donors/ partners
• Maximise fundraising opportunities by collaborating with colleagues across the organisation to maximise income.

Due to expanding projects and workloads, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Administrator and Personal Assistant to the Senior Development Manager within our Transforming Churches and Communities (TCC) team.

You will have excellent organisational skills and be able to support the team in developing missional plans, project work and operational support for charities, communities and religious societies. We work predominantly with the Methodist Church of Great Britain, although not exclusively. 

You will have outstanding administrative skills and be able to self-motivate and prioritise your workload. You will normally be working without direct supervision, so being able to work independently is essential. 

We are a small team, with big ambitions to enable and support those communities who need us. We support projects of all shapes and sizes including helping churches decide their future, providing funding searches, advice and training, managing all sorts of projects from starting a playgroup to merging societies, governance advice and much more.  We are currently bidding for several large-scale projects which will excite and motivate the right individual.

The post is full-time (35 hours/week) and the annual salary is £25,485. We are based in Manchester and work on projects throughout the Northwest and sometimes further afield. This is a hybrid position with up to one day a week working in our office in Hulme. There may be an occasional need for you to be flexible where possible with some weekend and evening work. 

About the Organisation

Together We Learn is a small international development charity with a vision to break the cycle of poverty in Ethiopia by enabling disadvantaged children to access quality education.

We have been working closely with our Ethiopian partner organisation for over 25 years to achieve this. Our UK team is a small, close- knit team that supports the fundraising, international communications, and project delivery of the Ethiopian team.

Our approach is to work alongside state education infrastructure, addressing a range of needs related to access to and quality of education, as well as children’s wellbeing.

Our work with schools includes school infrastructure projects - providing safe, local schools - and supporting teachers with training and resources to inspire children to flourish in the classroom. We also work closely with the children, their families and communities to understand and address the issues they face at home and how these impact their ability to attend and concentrate in school.

We are at the start of a new strategic phase with a focus on building the capacity of our Ethiopian partner organisation to shift the power and be more locally-led in our work.

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with a connection to Ethiopia, or from the African diaspora.

Project Coordinator

The Role: The Project Coordinator supports our Ethiopian Projects team deliver, monitor, evaluate and report on our various project activities. The role involves regular communication with both our regional project teams and management, supporting the team to meet project deadlines, driving continual programme improvement through monitoring, evaluation and learning, and supporting the UK Chief Executive with project reporting and funding proposals.

Reports to: Chief Executive
Hours: 15 hours per week (part-time role 40%)
Salary: £8,620 per annum (21,550 pro rata)
Location: London office, preference for hybrid working, remote applications considered, employee must be living in the UK.

Responsibilities

Supporting project delivery (70%)

• Regularly liaising with our project teams in Ethiopia to support them to monitor project deliverables alongside project plans in a timely manner and ensure changes are communicated to relevant parties
• Support with monitoring, evaluation and learning processes by ensuring monitoring and evaluation deadlines are met, collating, analysing and formatting data for review, leading discussions on impact review and supporting discussions for continuous programme development. Including managing office volunteers to support our work in these areas.
• Support the Ethiopian team to track and understand markers of good quality, sustainable projects and to continuously improve upon these.
• Supporting the Ethiopia team to develop projects, applying learning from evaluations and developing new project concepts.
• Supporting the team to include and prioritise beneficiary perspective to lead project design, implementation and monitoring procedures 
• Support the Ethiopian team to develop, include and adhere to all organisational policies and procedures, with special attention to safeguarding.

Fundraising (20%)

• Reporting to donors and funders on project delivery, ensuring deadlines for reporting are met, collating data and Ethiopian team feedback, and writing up funder reports in a timely manner.
• Supporting the Chief Executive to research potential funders and prepare and evidence funding proposals.
• Drafting template funder proposals.
• Occasionally attending funder events
• Support the UK team to communicate with supporters via monitoring the fundraising inbox, liaising with international volunteers, tour guests or other queries.

Other (10%)

• Support with building the capacity of the Ethiopian team through working practices and training in relevant areas.
• Communicate about our work with stakeholders via writing blogs, newsletter and Annual Report chapters.

• We support law centres and other legal advice agencies in London and the South East by providing them with grant funding alongside other forms of support.

About the role

We are recruiting a Programmes Manager to work across projects in our Sector Support programme. Working closely with the Head of Sector Support and Grants, they will manage relationships with beneficiaries and partners, coordinating monitoring and evaluation, and ongoing development of grants programmes. Lambourne End Centre are looking to recruit a Fundraising and Marketing Coordinator.  The post holder will be responsible for raising revenue and capital funds primarily from trusts, companies and through organising fundraising events to support the work of the Centre. They will also be required to promote the Centre to potential funders, user groups and the public, especially via the Centre’s website and social media channels.  Candidates will need to demonstrate that they can think creatively, use initiative and work productively with colleagues.  They need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to enthuse others.

We incubate and support other charities and social businesses to thrive. Each week we work with 30+ charities and community groups supporting more than 1,000 people.

Role Purpose

Provide strategic leadership for KLS’ Refugee Family Programme, ensuring that programme direction and delivery is strategically aligned, responds to learning and changes in context, and maximises our impact in the community.

Key Responsibilities 

• Providing clear and steady leadership and management to all aspects of our newly formed Refugee Family programme, which has grown out of previous separate projects to better meet the holistic needs of people we support.
• Managing and developing the budget and finances; whilst supporting the fundraising lead to secure its financial viability.
• Directly lead the scoping and planning of the Refugee Family Programme Strategy to:
  • Develop and expand existing programmes.
  • Identify opportunities to create, innovate and improve projects within the Refugee Family Programme - such as community outreach workshops, advocacy support, Educational Classes, and Groups, Mentoring and Clubs - to meet the needs of the people we support and those who may need our support in the future.
  • Undertake regular horizon scanning and environmental analysis to ensure KLS has a full understanding of the potential for growth and programme development associated with the current, future and changing demand and need. 
  • Build and maintain effective networks and partnerships that will ultimately support people to realise their potential.
  • Work with the Chief Operating Officer to develop appropriate processes, systems and working practices that create a continuous improvement approach and ensure insights-based impact reporting, evaluation and decision making.
  • Through effective networking and building of positive relationships, act as an ambassador for the organisation to effectively promote and raise awareness of both the organisation and its work.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Extensive experience of working with people from vulnerable groups, especially children and young people, ensuring that clients’ needs are at the forefront of service planning and delivery.

About us 

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. We know that homelessness is not inevitable. We know that together we can end it. 

We are now recruiting for a new role in the Resources Team, Crisis at Christmas to support with coordinating the material donations needed to set up and run Crisis at Christmas centres and services. Every year, Crisis at Christmas opens its doors to people who need our support, offering warmth, accommodation, healthcare, food, and specialist advice. Last Christmas we worked with over 6,600 people facing homelessness through our day centres and hotels in London, and Crisis Skylight centres across Britain.

Contract: Fixed term contract from 10 September 2024 to 28 February 2025 

Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week. Core working hours are 9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday, but due to the nature of the project some weekend and evening work may be required. 

Location: Canning Town Warehouse, Unit 4 SEGRO Park, London E16 4ES  - three days per week onsite

About the role 

As a Project Coordinator – Resources your role will involve building relationships with current and new corporate donors to ensure we can resource all the required material donations we need to run the Crisis at Christmas centres in London.  Gift in kind donations we require range from food and beverages to clothing, hairdressing equipment and minibuses. This is a varied role that involves researching donors, communicating with large corporate companies, managing volunteers, and running community donations. 

About you 

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Experience of customer service and ability to deal with working with partner organisations and donors via phone and email in a professional and friendly manner. 

• Strong organisational skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities

Hours:

2wish has been established since 2012 and has grown from strength to strength. During this time, we have worked tirelessly to embed our service and ensure that the offer of support is made at the point of death.

We offer an immediate, consistent, high-quality and compassionate service to all individuals affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under in Wales. We work in partnership with professionals who refer into the charity on behalf of the families, so they don't have to trawl through the internet for an organisation who may, or may not, be able to support. We provide immediate, and ongoing, support and are here for as long as our families need us.

However, we know that gaps in support for those suddenly bereaved still exist outside of Wales. And so we are expanding into England and are on the lookout for passionate and committed individuals who want to help push the charity to the next level.

Context of role:

2wish support anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under. We provide immediate, and longer-term support to families, individuals, professionals and witnesses. Since we were established in 2012, we have grown to deliver our service across the whole of Wales.

In January 2024, we expanded the geographical area and recruited a brand-new team to deliver the service in the border counties of England and Wales, namely Cheshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Somerset. This will be the first of several phases of expansion and the aim is to deliver our service throughout England and Wales in the coming years.

The post holder will lead an effective and cohesive management team across England and Wales overseeing the development and delivery of specialist services for individuals affected by sudden and unexpected death in children and young people aged 25 and under. They will ensure the team provide the highest standards of support, and that services are shaped by the needs of those who access them.

The key objectives of the post are:

• To lead upon delivery of support services across England and Wales, ensuring services are delivered consistently to a high quality and are embedded across a growing geographical area. To embed a growing team and develop relevant strategic priorities.
• To motivate, lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic services to families, friends, professionals, witnesses and individuals affected by sudden death.
• To establish pan-phase partnerships with key stakeholders to embed and develop referral pathways and raise awareness of the charity and its services.
• To work closely with the CEO, Director of Operations, Director of Transformation and Strategy and the wider Leadership Team promoting effective cross-team working that contributes to the overall objectives of 2wish and 2wish Cymru.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

1.0. Support services:

• To oversee outstanding service delivery across England and Wales that responds flexibly to emerging need in line with the business plan, key deliverables, budget and policies and procedures
• To leading on effective delivery and scaling up of services throughout the expansion phases
• To work closely with the Director of Transformation and Strategy to ensure a consistent approach to service delivery that aims to embed the service within existing child death procedures
• To oversee and monitor financial performance, ensuring effective deployment of resources and compliance against agreed targets/budgets
• To be responsible for Safeguarding and work with designated Safeguarding Officers to ensure services are safe for supported persons, staff, counsellors and therapists, volunteers, external partners and other key stakeholders
• To carry out regular risk assessments for services. Ensuring safeguarding concerns are followed up systematically, including making referrals to statutory services
• To oversee high-quality assurance of the service through monitoring of quality assurance systems, audits, management of complaints and learning from disruption
• To work with managers and Senior Leaders in the development and definition of new services, ensuring that operational procedures which support service delivery are fit for purpose
• To taking a hands-on approach to dealing with complex or difficult cases, particularly in new areas as we expand
• To oversee and further develop monitoring and evaluation processes to clearly demonstrate the impact the service has on individuals supported
• To contribute towards applications and reports for funders/ grants etc. in line with milestones /objectives and funding agreements
• To attend formal and informal meetings with the 2wish Senior Management Team and as required with the Trustee Board to review and report on progress

2.0. Leadership:

• To provide clear and visible leadership for a growing support team, with a specific focus upon leading and developing the support managers, taking overall responsibility and accountability for their management, performance, quality of their outputs, including recruitment/retention, induction, training and development, performance management and succession planning
• To lead and motivate staff in the performance of their duties in a way which encourages loyalty, dedication and high professional standards, in line with 2wish Cymru and 2wish ethos, values and determined by the Leadership team and Trustee Board in our strategic plan
• To further develop a positive approach to change and growth in line with expansion plans and the subsequent changes to staffing and areas of service delivery
• To establish and maintain effective working relationships on a local and national with referral partners and key stakeholders including police, health and professionals involved in child death procedures
• To oversee the development of training packages to encourage education and awareness around the experiences of those affected by sudden death
• To work closely with the CEO and Leadership team to support the work of 2wish nationally
• To ensure that the voices and needs of those affected by sudden death in children and young people are at the centre of decision making in Wales and England
• To work to the policies and procedures of the organisation, to promote these with staff and to ensure that they are maintained and developed appropriately. Keeping up to date with regulation, guidance, standards, government policy and research relating to sudden child death

3.0. General:

Role Summary

The Operations Executive will join a small but rapidly growing team working at GH50/50. Within this role, and in close collaboration with the Head of Operations you will ensure high quality administrative support across GH50/50, setting the entire team up for success. This is a crucial role that will ensure that things run effectively and efficiently in support of our mission.

This is a brand new role for GH50/50, therefore we are looking for a bright, self-starter who can work with the Head of Operations to shape the role; providing recommendations to the organisation on administrative processes and own their projects from conception to delivery.  You will play a pivotal role in supporting the charity's administrative and strategic initiatives as we enter a new phase of growth. Job Responsibilities:

o Support the Head of Operations in the smooth and efficient running of the GH50/50 office.

o Collaborate with the Head of Operations to source and roll out a new organisation-wide management system for GH50/50, ensuring thoughtful integration into our current working practices.

o Organise the Co-CEOs calendars, including scheduling meetings and appointments.

o Support the Head of Operations to prepare and manage correspondence, reports, and documents as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

● Experience in working with or for academic institutes for research organisations would be beneficial, as would experience working with a remote team with globally based stakeholders

Cancer52 is a national organisation, created in 2007 by Professor Sir Mike Richards, CBE, then National Clinical Director for Cancer, and registered as a charity in England and Wales in September 2017.

We are an exceptional organisation, providing one voice for all those affected by rare and less common cancers.  Historically, these cancers have been underrepresented and under-funded.  Today, they represent 47% of people diagnosed with cancer, but 55% of all cancer deaths – a hidden majority.  Cancer52’s aim is to change this by taking the collective voice of our members to those who influence cancer policy, research, services and treatment.

Cancer52 is recognised for its strong convening role, bringing together our 115 member charities with organisations in industry, government, the NHS and other stakeholders to address the inequalities faced by patients with rare and less common cancers.  Our reputation is strong and we are in a unique position to provide a common voice for these underrepresented cancers.  The figures for people with these cancers are challenging and there is much work to do.
