We are looking for a proactive and analytical thinker to join us as our Media Officer, taking on responsibility for leading our media engagement activity. In the Media Officer role, you will shape our approach to external communications, working with colleagues to identify opportunities to further the College’s objectives through media activity, refine communications plans and provide a responsive press office function.
In order to be successful in the role you will work as an integral part of our dynamic External Affairs team, utilising your extensive experience of press campaigns and responsive media handling in order to drive impactful change. As the RCR’s Media Officer you will have the opportunity to develop a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare environment and advocate for the growth of our specialities in order to improve patient care. You will achieve this by working closely with RCR spokespeople and other internal stakeholders to develop a media strategy that establishes the College as go-to experts in radiology and clinical oncology.
What you’ll do:
- Provide a highly responsive press office function to boost the RCR’s influence, build its profile and support its reputation.
- Create and deliver on external communications plans for key activities to achieve high profile press coverage and impact – e.g. RCR reports, events and policy statements.
- Develop a high level of knowledge of RCR’s external-facing policies, projects and initiatives.
- Undertake media and social media monitoring to identify proactive and reactive opportunities, as well as emerging stories with relevance to the RCR, keeping team members briefed as necessary.
- Monitor the political and policy environment in England and the devolved nations to identify threats and opportunities to the College’s objectives, disseminating and briefing senior RCR leaders and managers as necessary.
What you’ll need:
- Extensive experience of delivering press campaigns and responsive press work.
- Experience of delivering corporate communications strategies.
- Experience of working closely with policy and public affairs colleagues.
- Ability to translate complex policy content into succinct and clear messages.
- High level oral and written communication skills.
- Self-starter, confident to initiate and progress work, knowing when to consult or involve others.

Key responsibilities include:

· A degree-level qualification or equivalent in youth work, community development or a related field.

· Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
· Knowledge of safeguarding practices and experience working with young people in challenging environments.
· A track record of developing and implementing strategic plans in partnership with stakeholders.

Job Purpose
The postholder will be responsible for two key organisational areas:
- Practice Education to an allocation of student social workers: 80% of workload
- Support with induction planning and administrative tasks relevant to the student placement programme: 20% of workload
The postholder will be responsible for providing student social workers with effective, high-quality supervision and support throughout their practice placements and maintaining accurate records of student work undertaken to inform holistic assessments of students’ practice. Key responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Management
- Develop and implement the charity’s financial strategy to align it to the charity’s main strategy and support long-term goals.
- Provide financial insights to the leadership team to guide decision-making and resource allocation.

Person Specification
Essential:
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CIPFA) or equivalent financial experience.
- Proven experience in financial management, ideally within a charity or non-profit organisation.
- Strong knowledge of UK charity accounting standards (SORP) and regulatory requirements as they apply to charities.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement financial strategies.

Responsibilities:
- Perform month-end and year-end closings, including journal preparation, accruals, and finalising accounts in Sage.
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly, including agreeing on inter-charity balances within the group.
- Conduct profit and loss (P&L) reviews, ensuring the accuracy and understanding of monthly financial results.
- Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports to managers across the organisation, while assisting in the development of new reporting processes as needed.

Since 1447 they have offered almshouses, and currently there are two: the Elis David Almshouses, a modern purpose-built block of 55 flats in central Croydon, and the Mary Tate Almshouses, which comprise seven cottages overlooking Cricket Green in Mitcham. For the last 40 years, they have also awarded grants to community groups and individuals of all ages across Croydon who are in need, or facing distress or hardship, and to local and national organisations which help them.

The role
The Finance Coordinator is responsible for supporting in the smooth delivery of day-to-day financial operations at ISD with particular attention to ISD US. In close partnership with the Global Finance Manager, the Director of Finance, the Director of US Operations, and other members of the broader global finance team, this individual will contribute to successful financial management of the organization as well as supporting with general operations tasks.
Key responsibilities include:
Financial Management

Manage accounts payable and receivable through QuickBooks Online

Handle banking transactions/payments, including routine bank reconciliation

Process ISD US payroll system in conjunction with external payroll provider

Liaise with State and Federal departments and our CPA where necessary

Prepare monthly financials and forecasts for the Executive Director and global team

A little bit about the role
The Finance Officer will play a vital role within the Finance team being a trusted partner to our colleagues who are creating social change for children who do not have a safe or stable home.
You will take ownership of the purchase ledger and manage documents from receipts in ExpenseIn through to supplier payment. You will resolve issues with suppliers as they arise and maintain effective communications with suppliers. You will be responsible for accurately processing other transactions and inputting them into the accounting system (XERO), such as bank, petty cash and sales invoices. You will support the Finance team with other administrative tasks including month end closing.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Preparing accurate weekly payment runs using online banking software
- Managing the purchase ledger, including invoices, supplier setup, account coding, and purchase order matching, while resolving supplier issues.
- Managing the finance team inbox
- Supporting delivery team with credit control
- Adhering to the organisation’s financial policies and assist other departments in doing the same

A little bit about you
This role will suit someone with strong experience in purchase ledger management within a medium-sized organisation, ideally within a charity but not essential. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, proactive, and confident in handling online approval workflows and purchase order systems.
They should have a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles and a track record of improving finance or administrative processes. While an AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable, practical experience is key. The panel is looking for someone detail-orientated, efficient, and capable of working independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
