The position:

The Humane League UK is looking for a Digital Marketing Coordinator to drive impactful change for animal welfare through strategic digital marketing efforts.

This role focuses on managing our digital marketing efforts to grow and engage our supporter base. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing paid social activities and ad campaigns across platforms such as Meta and Google. You will also oversee our website’s content management and SEO, contributing to our mission by driving impactful, data-informed decisions.

This role reports to the Digital Communications Manager and will play a key role in shaping and delivering our digital communications strategy.

Who you are:

Primary Responsibilities:

• Create, launch, and manage ad campaigns on Meta and other platforms including YouTube and LinkedIn to grow and engage our supporter base.

• Collaborate with our Digital Communications and Engagement Coordinator to ensure our action and acquisition driving pages on our CRM, Engaging Networks, are integrated into our website.

• Measure impact and performance of ad campaigns through detailed analytics, ensuring optimisations are made for maximum effectiveness.

• Manage and optimise our Google Grant account, ensuring compliance and performance.

• Oversee website content management, including writing and uploading blogs and creating or updating web pages.

• Measure and report on website traffic, audience behaviour, and engagement metrics.

• Develop and implement SEO strategies to improve website visibility and search rankings and optimise conversions.

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure our digital marketing efforts align with organisational goals.

In addition:

• Update the wider team on digital marketing progress and insights.

• Participate in team meetings including note-taking and facilitation.

• Attend in-person workshops several times a year.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Demonstrated experience in setting up and reporting on paid ads on Meta and Google.

• Proficiency with website analytics tools, particularly Google Analytics 4 (GA4).

• Solid knowledge of SEO and a good working knowledge of HTML.

• Familiarity with website user experience (UX) principles.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems.

• Experience with content management systems (CMS).

• Copywriting skills.

• Understanding of web content accessibility guidelines (WCAG).

• Experience working with Google Grants.

• Awareness of the evolving digital landscape and emerging digital trends.

• Familiarity with Looker Studio and Google Search Console.

Hours:
This is a part time position of 22.5 hours per week (0.6 FTE), worked between Monday and Friday over a minimum of three days, with the working pattern to be agreed.

From 1st July 2024 we are piloting a four day working week across the whole of the UK organisation. This pilot is planned to run for 12 months, at which point a decision will be made by our Board of Trustees as to whether this will become permanent. Success of the trial relies on the organisation being able to achieve the same or improved level of impact in four working days as five, with staff experiencing either the same or improved levels of wellbeing.

During the four-day week pilot, this position will remain at 22.5 hours per week, worked between Monday and Thursday over a minimum of three days, with the working pattern to be agreed. With the organisation's full-time hours changed to 30 from 37.5 during the four-day week pilot, this role will be 0.75 FTE during the trial, with the salary increased accordingly to £26,903.

This will constitute a temporary change to the successful candidate's contractual terms. If a return to a five-day week is decided, the FTE and salary will revert to 0.6 and the equivalent pro rata amount of £21,523. In the event that THL UK considers before the end of the trial period that the trial is having an adverse operational impact, we reserve the right to bring the trial to end on one month’s notice.

Location: Home based in the South West - Gloucestershire / Wiltshire / Dorset / Somerset / Cornwall / Devon / Bristol

Our passionate Regional Casework Coordinators are SSAFA’s front line of support for members of the armed forces community in need. They are the first point of contact for all beneficiaries into the Regional Office, assessing needs and allocating the case to one of our volunteer caseworkers. 

You will sometimes handle complex problems from individuals who may be distressed, identifying the presenting and potential underlying needs to determine the best way to support the beneficiary. You will have ownership of cases from beginning to end, coordinating the casework process in a timely manner and ensure that the beneficiary journey is at the centre of the Service. You will have the opportunity to shape processes and procedures within the office which will lead to improvements in the service offered to clients.

To help you establish yourself in this new post you will receive excellent training and induction to SSAFA. 

Whilst the post is homebased, to be eligible for this role you are required to live in the South West region in Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire or Somerset. There will be occasional travel around the South West Region, and you will be required to travel for quarterly face to face team meetings. 

About the team 

The team work remotely and pride themselves in maintaining a close working bond which ensures the smooth operation of the office. You will work closely with volunteers from the eight SSAFA branches in the South West, supporting them to administer casework for SSAFA beneficiaries. The successful candidate will work as part of a larger team of 10, which includes two Regional Casework Managers and a Regional Operations Manager. 

About you 

To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of providing welfare advice in key areas such as housing benefits, debt, disability, mobility or immigration issues. You will have knowledge of safeguarding and GDPR and experience in dealing with sensitive information and people in vulnerable situations. You will be able to provide excellent customer service by telephone, e-mail and face to face. You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.

 It would be advantageous if you have an understanding of the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families and if you have experience of recruiting and supporting volunteers. An understanding of the voluntary sector and preferably the military charity sector landscape across the South West would be valuable

General Function:

The Business Officer will work for the Europe & Eurasia Programme Management Unit (PMU) and will provide the highest standards of financial and administrative support to European funded Internews EE Programmes. We are looking for a responsible and professional individual to perform a variety of financial and administrative tasks. Duties of the Business Officer will include the financial administration of current projects, oversight of project budgets and partner spending, facilitation of payment requests, budgetary projections and other financial and administrative duties that may be required during this period.

The Business Officer will work closely with the Senior Programme Officer, the Senior Business Associate and the Programme Finance Business Partner to provide timely and quality support to programmes as required.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial administration of Internews’s projects:

• Review project expenditure and ensure accuracy of coding.
• Manage cash-flow to ensure the availability of project funds at Internews’ offices.
• Work with Programme Finance Business Partners (PFBPs) to prepare financial reports for donors, prepare notes for financial reports, and ensure that costs are reported in compliance with donor requirements.
• Monitor co-financing plans.
• Advise project teams on the correct application of HQ policies and processes, including on procurement, travel, etc.

Budget oversight:

• Review budget-versus-actuals and facilitate forecasting in line with project activities.
• Support partners with budget planning.
• Align internal templates to donor formats for effective monitoring and reporting.
• Sub-grants oversight and keeping SGA (Sub-Grant Agreements) tracker:
• Support Internews’ partners to prepare budgets under sub-grant agreements.
• Review financial reports from partners when required and coordinate corrections as required.

Payments and administration:

• Coordinate payment requests to London, including reviews, confirmations, and follow-ups.
• Monitor donor income and prepare requests for disbursements to donors.
• Review and verify suppliers’ invoices to London HQ and Internews’ accounting department in California.
• Support Accounting field teams in terms of induction and refreshment training regarding Internews and donors’ procedures and policies.
• Budget development: work closely with Senior Programme Officer, Senior Business Associate and country offices to develop budgets for new proposals. Coordinate on the development of co-financing approaches and plans for opportunities with the European Commission and other European donors.
• Help set up business processes for new projects, including the preparation of requests for Personal Service Contracts.
• Support the process of staff contracting for projects.
• Help project teams with staff charges to relevant projects.
• Other tasks: participate in project audits carried out at the HQ as required by the London finance controls team.
• Other financial and administrative tasks may be assigned as required.

Requirements:

• Relevant degree (preferable) in Accounting, Business Administration or Financial management.
• Qualification in Accounting (Knowledge of ERP (Agresso) will be a plus)
• At least three years of experience working in a similar capacity.
• Experience with European funders (European Commission, SIDA, FCDO, GIZ etc.)
• Proficiency in MS Office. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
• Fluency in English and Russian (both written and spoken).
• Creative and a good team player.
• Excellent multitasking skills.
• Good prioritization skills and the ability to solve immediate problems.

About the Accelerating Reform Fund

The Accelerating Reform Fund is a new initiative which aims to transform social care services, making them more responsive to the needs of the community. It is a national programme, with 42 regions allocated to have their own projects. Greater Manchester is one of the ARF regions. The ARF has a particular focus on unpaid carers and aims to boost short-term breaks for carers and improve hospital discharge processes. This work is made possible by Department for Health and Social Care grants. As an organisation, Gaddum has supported and collaborated with unpaid carers for many years, so we’re excited to bring our experience to the table. This role will be based in the Manchester team working to improve hospital discharge processes.

To develop and ensure safe discharge planning and information for patients and unpaid carers. To embed procedures to raise awareness of the needs of carers in a secondary care setting, working in partnership with the discharge, virtual and enablement teams. To empower carers to be involved in the discharge process.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to provide operational leadership and oversight of the Carers Hospital Discharge Pilot in Manchester. The role involves line-managing a team of three Hospital Discharge Workers across multiple hospital sites, ensuring effective collaboration with hospital staff and community services to support carers. The aim is to enhance the identification and referral of carers, ensuring timely and appropriate support to prevent carer breakdown and facilitate smoother, safer, and more efficient hospital discharges. By fostering strong relationships with health teams, discharge teams, and local services, this role bridges the gap between secondary care and community resources, contributing to improved outcomes for carers and patients alike.

HAMRAH seeks to equip Afghan civil society in exile to protect and strengthen the rights of vulnerable groups in Afghanistan, especially women and girls. We do this through core funding, capacity strengthening, network building and collaborative advocacy.

HAMRAH is hosted by Global Dialogue, an international philanthropy support organisation partnering with funders to advance rights, equity and diversity. Independent in status and global in reach, Global Dialogue provides funder networks, collaboratives and their partners with practical support and technical expertise to create lasting change.  

We seek a Senior Programme Officer – Development & Advocacy to ensure timely and effective implementation of project deliverables through day-to-day management of activities and processes.  

Hours This role is full-time (35 hours/week). We are open to negotiating a working pattern that works for the successful candidate and for Global Dialogue.

The HAMRAH Initiative is designed to address the significant challenges faced by Afghan civil society organisations (CSOs) forced into exile, particularly women-led organisations, as they continue to provide protection for vulnerable groups within Afghanistan. The initiative focuses on fostering collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and advocacy to safeguard the rights of vulnerable populations, including women and girls.

Through sustained technical support and resources, HAMRAH aims to build a stronger Afghan civil society equipped with essential organisational infrastructure, leadership skills, and collaborative networks to preserve hard-won gains and advance rights and protections for vulnerable groups.

Currently, we are supporting 10 Afghan CSOs in exile, located around the world, that continue working partially or fully inside Afghanistan to protect vulnerable populations, including women and girls, LGBTQ+ communities, and individuals with disabilities.

Overview    

The Senior Programme Officer - Development & Advocacy will play a vital role in advancing the HAMRAH initiative and strengthening the resilience of cohort organisations through fundraising, research, joint policy advocacy, communication, and capacity development. This position requires a dynamic and caring professional with experience working with Global South CSOs, as well as the passion and empathy to drive strategic initiatives, build partnerships, and amplify programmatic impact. In this role, you will collaborate closely with HAMRAH's partner cohort organisations (10 CSOs in exile), mentors, the advisory board, and other key stakeholders. The right post holder will be comfortable responding to the needs of a cohort of organisations whose priorities may change, which can lead to working in ways that require flexibility. There will be opportunities to explore, discuss and debate new ideas and consider how the latest research could benefit the cohort of organisations.

The Senior Programme Officer - Development & Advocacy will report to Programme Director.

Job Description 

Fundraising and Grant Writing: Work with the Programme Director to identify funding opportunities, lead the drafting and reviewing of proposals, concept notes, and grant applications for the HAMRAH initiative and its cohort organisations. Monitor funding trends and donor priorities to develop tailored and compelling proposals.

Policy and Joint Advocacy: Support HAMRAH and cohort organisations in designing and implementing targeted joint advocacy campaigns, including strategy and messaging development.  Help facilitate policy dialogue and engagement with relevant stakeholders, including government officials, donors, and civil society networks, to advance the priorities of HAMRAH and its cohort organisations.

Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis to inform programme strategies, advocacy efforts, and policy development. This includes helping produce briefing papers, reports, and articles with clear recommendations based on HAMRAH’s work and evidence.  Also monitor emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities in Afghanistan and other exiled communities across Global South to ensure programming remains responsive, relevant and impactful. 

Communication and Reporting:  Lead the development of newsletters and other digital communication materials to showcase HAMRAH’s achievements and cohort organisations’ work.  If needed and approved by cohort, coordinate digital engagement strategies, including website updates and social media campaigns, to enhance HAMRAH visibility and outreach. Lead the drafting of narrative and financial reports to donors.

Capacity Development: support assessment of capacity-building needs of cohort organisations and develop tailored training plans to address identified gaps. When needed, provide technical support to cohort organisations to strengthen their operational and programmatic capacities.

Learning and Exchange: Support the planning and execution of online and in-person cross-learning exchange workshops with partner organisations in the Global South. Facilitate opportunities for collaboration and collective learning, and help establish global solidarity networks, platforms, and resources to enhance knowledge-sharing among cohort organisations.

Person specification 

Required 

• At least 5 years of experience in programme support across fundraising, joint advocacy, partnership, research and capacity development, particularly in the non-profit or international development sectors.

• Degree in a relevant field, or equivalent knowledge that could have been gained through lived experiences or informal learning. 

• Demonstrated experience in grant writing and successfully developing funding proposals for institutional donors, foundations, or multilateral agencies.

• Previous experience in policy dialogue, joint advocacy and policy development, particularly engaging with government stakeholders, donors, and civil society networks.

• Experience in research, mapping, analysis, and writing skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports, proposals, and policy documents.

• Demonstrated communication and networking skills, including experience in digital engagement and social media strategy.

• Strong Empathy and care for activists and human rights defenders, with a strong commitment to enabling their work and safeguarding their well-being who are operating in a complex and challenging environment.

• Demonstrated cultural competency, with confidence in building relationships across different cultures, navigating power dynamics, and engaging with stakeholders from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.

• A “self-starter” able to work independently and collaboratively, with the ability and energy to multi-task and thrive in a small team and flat organisational structures.  

• Experience in designing and delivering capacity-building initiatives, including training and resource development.

• Willing to travel internationally for meetings and events (up to 4 weeks a year). 

Desirable

• Experience working with and collaborating with CSOs in the Global South, with a strong understanding of their dynamics and challenges.

• Demonstrate passion and commitment to HAMRAH’s mission, focusing on supporting strong female leaders and activists at the forefront, while ensuring HAMRAH’s role is to serve and empower them.

• Experience in policy engagement, research, and analysis within the humanitarian and development sectors, particularly in contexts similar to Afghanistan, with a focus on the impact of issues on small grassroots organisations.

• Experience in building partnerships, movements, and networks with Global South CSOs, fostering collaboration and solidarity.

• Experience in identifying and helping manage project risks, including implementing safeguarding measures and conducting due diligence.

The HR Advisor will support the Head of People and Culture and HR People Partners to deliver an effective HR ‘self-service’ in line with organisational strategy and the charity’s culture and values. Acting as the secondary point of contact for HR queries you will act as a trusted advisor for day-to-day people related queries. You will play a key role in managing the employee lifecycle, with a focus on onboarding, offboarding, and payroll processing. What we need

As our HR Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our team. Cleanup Champions work closely with Cleanup Hubs and other partner organisations to encourage more people to get involved in litter picking locally. 

We are keen to find cheerful people, with a sense of fun, who care about the environment and enjoy chatting to people of all backgrounds.   

Main Purpose of the Role:   

• To increase the number of people borrowing litter picking equipment from the Cleanup Hubs in your local area. 

• To represent CleanupUK at a local level by attending litter picking events and supporting the development of the Cleanup Hub network.   

• To develop strong relationships with partner organisations in the community: 

• Supporting existing Cleanup Hubs to increase levels of engagement in their area by contacting new groups. 

• Research and develop potential new partner organisations. 

Key Tasks include:   

• Liaising with Cleanup Hubs and local communities.  

• Hosting and attending events and reporting back to CleanpUK’s Operational Team.   

• Helping to keep active records of the litter picking that is taking place. This includes: ensuring litter picking statistics are being logged online by hubs, taking photos for our social media channels, and making notes on our shared database. 

• Promoting the project locally, both on the ground and online.   

• Online research to help us to identify new community partners, and attending online or face to face meetings with new prospective partners. 

• Attending monthly team meetings online.   

• Developing an awareness of local funding opportunities and communicating these to our fundraising team.

• Occasional support to CleanupUK’s corporate partnership team may also be required such as leading a litter picking for a company.

The Role

The Senior Individual Giving Officer will act as a source of fundraising expertise in the Direct Marketing and wider development team, as well as the global Development and Marketing teams. Lead on devising a digital strategy that will maximise supporter engagement and acquisition, and thus grow individual giving income, with the input of the Direct Marketing Manager

Mercy Corps Europe's fundraising team is in a growth phase and there are many opportunities to innovate. Creative freedom is very much encouraged and the diversity of the organisation's programmes makes our fundraising work truly varied. There is huge potential in this role to deliver initiatives that will have a significant impact in growing our donor base, including testing new ways of engaging with audiences, integrating marketing across new channels, expanding use of online advertising, SEO and AdWords, harnessing data to create more effective campaigns, engaging thought-leaders and influencers online, and investigating new innovative ways of reaching key audiences.

The ideal candidate will have experience of the latest trends in fundraising and will have both the creative and technical skills to deliver key elements of the direct marketing strategy. Supporter development

●Lead on integrating online and offline fundraising, offering supporters a cross-platform experience
