We are currently seeking a highly motivated, confident individual with excellent organisational skills to take on maternity cover for the role of head of marketing, advertising and events.
Reporting to the executive director, you will be responsible for the sale of advertising space on our website, through email blasts to our mailing lists, via our weekly emails and within our quarterly print publication. You will also be responsible for the line management of event support, while managing our event programme which consists of up to 19 digital and in-person events per year. You will also be responsible for line management of the subscriptions manager, overseeing concurrent marketing projects, targeting key subscription areas, and ensuring a high level of renewals amongst our subscribers. Alongside this, there will be opportunities to represent Alliance at external events both in the UK and abroad.
The successful candidate will have strong, persuasive oral and written communication skills, enjoy working in a small team, and have excellent organisation and time-management. The candidate will be a willing participant in all APT discussions and play an active part in driving the organisation forward.

Marketing & sales
- Lead responsibility for the marketing strategy to grow the circulation of Alliance

About the role
The Communication and Marketing Officer is key to delivering a range of marketing communications for Help Musicians and Music Minds Matter, ensuring our website, stories, print and digital content is clear, up-to-date and on-brand.
With a proven track record in strong copywriting, the person in this role creates and develops content (written, video and graphic) in-line with annual plans, bringing to life our charities’ impact, stories and support. This will include writing, evolving and maintaining interesting copy on our webpages and developing the storytelling in our digital content, long form and social copy to drive engagement.
Working collaboratively with teams across the organisation, the post holder is able to deliver on content goals and repurpose content to create a stream of engaging outputs for a breadth of audiences (e.g. donors and those seeking our support).
Through impactful copywriting and storytelling, they bring to life our brands and amplify the wider communications of the organisation.
About you
You will have excellent copy writing skills, understanding how to use language to connect with an audience. You will have a natural curiosity for human interest stories with some interviewing experience. A keen eye for detail is very important but the ideal candidate will also have a willingness to ask questions and continuously learn.
Soft skills are key to this role so being personable, emotionally intelligent and able to conduct discussions around sensitive issues with compassion and discretion are vital.
A creative thinker who is able to turn ideas into content to bring our stories, research and key messages to life.
It is desirable for you to have experience using Canva or Adobe suite (including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, InDesign) helping to support on the breadth of communications and marketing delivery.

The Direct Marketing Manager, Retention, is a newly developed role at the DEC, responsible for shaping and delivering new and existing supporter journeys for DEC individual, community and legacy donors, and leading a programme of improvement across all major contact points between the DEC and the public.
The Direct Marketing Manager, Retention will:
- Contribute to and develop DEC direct marketing strategies, including the refreshing, implementation and analysis of the DEC’s segmentation, to maximise future income and continually improve the retention of individual supporters for future emergency appeals,
- Lead on the production of retention and reporting back materials for individual and community supporters,
- Manage the development and maintenance of specific supporter journeys,

Strategy and Planning

About the role
This is an important role within our legacy and journeys team, part of an established and successful individual giving operation. This role is responsible for the delivery of campaigns to promote legacy giving and to raise awareness of gifts in wills to both existing charity supporters and new audiences.
There’s huge potential to grow the charity’s income from legacy gifts. In this role, you’ll get the chance to work across an exciting and varied range of activity, including DRTV and our supporter newsletter. You’ll have the opportunity to hone your skills to grow and strengthen our supporter base and inspire more people to consider how they can support future generations with a gift in their will.
With individual giving income growing strongly at over £21 million per annum, this is the perfect time to join an experienced and effective team.
About you
You’ll have worked in a similar environment such as fundraising. You will have gained experience in running direct marketing activity to generate response, working with suppliers and in-house teams to reach target audiences.
You’re super organised with excellent communication skills, comfortable managing external suppliers and in-house stakeholders to deliver campaigns to plan and against budget.
Working across a range of channels, including direct mail, telemarketing, DRTV, legacy events and digital, you will understand the importance of good stewardship in developing loyalty to a cause.

Purpose of Role
The Membership Marketing Officer plays a critical role in supporting the Membership and Supporter Experience Team by providing administrative support as well as a bit of creative marketing flair. This is the perfect role for someone looking for their first step in recruiting and retaining supporters.

This role involves handling administrative tasks, data management, and providing support for various multi-channel membership campaigns to help the Ramblers grow our supporter base and income.

Key responsibilities
- Support our key marketing projects including gift membership, private site, telemarketing, our annual member survey and renewal journey.
- Support the distribution and creation of promotional resources, regularly checking stock levels, and re-ordering or refreshing materials as needed, liaising with external suppliers such as print or mailing houses and delivering to budgets and deadline.
- Support the creation of e-communications, including emails to prospective members. This may include proofing content, sourcing images, checking data, building emails and reviewing content requests with support from the team.
- Provide regular impact communications and surprise and delight moments to our suppliers and fundraisers acting on our behalf
- Source inspirational stories from our walking groups and volunteers, to help support growth of our membership community.
- Check data from our Data Team and from our suppliers to ensure it is accurate and in the right format. Provide data as needed to suppliers.
- Co-ordinate across teams to ensure data is provided in a timely fashion
- Check data is lasered correctly on printed materials, raising any concerns appropriately with suppliers
- Coordinate call listening for our core calling programmes, liaising with our volunteers and providing summary of feedback to our suppliers.
- Handle inbound enquiries coming into the team, take simple actions from these enquiries, or escalate as appropriate
- Save relevant reports, track performance and report to the Head of Membership and Supporter Experience anything notable

As a key member of our small, dedicated team, you will be instrumental in developing and marketing Icon membership while delivering exceptional customer service. Your role involves proactively engaging with members by processing their applications, managing renewals, addressing inquiries, and performing various administrative tasks.

Content and communications
- Working collaboratively with the wider Icon Team to develop the annual communications plan in line with the annual operational plan.
- Developing, commissioning and delivering the production of content for Icon’s website and Social Media channels in line with communications plan.

IKWRO –Women’s Rights Organisation (IKWRO) is an award-winning charity founded (as the Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation) in 2002. IKWRO is a registered charity which provides advice and support to Middle Eastern, North African and Afghan women and girls living in the UK, who have experienced, or are at risk of all forms of “honour” based abuse, including; forced marriage, child marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM), or domestic abuse.
We work with women and girls of all ages, including lesbian women, bisexual women and trans women. We offer services in Kurdish, Farsi, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Turkish and English. IKWRO offers free advice, advocacy and counselling services and operates a refuge which provides safe accommodation and specialist support to single women at risk of “honour” based abuse, forced marriage and domestic abuse.
IKWRO also provides training for women and girls to help them understand their rights in the UK. In partnership with other organisations, we assist survivors of abuse with accessing English language classes and education, training and employment opportunities. As well as supporting women and girls directly, we offer advice and training for professionals from the statutory and voluntary sectors, to better understand the needs of the women and girls we represent, the types of abuse they experience and to provide best practice prevention and support services.
We campaign to increase awareness and improve laws and policies to tackle all forms of “honour” based abuse and harmful practices including; forced marriage, child marriage, marital captivity, female genital mutilation, virginity testing and hymenoplasty, discrimination by sharia courts and to push for better laws and policies toprotect women’s and girl’s rights.
