About the Role  

You will be joining at an exciting time for Ataxia UK as we celebrate our 60th anniversary year.

This brand-new role is an important part of our new strategy to sustainably grow our unrestricted income. Working closely with the Director of Fundraising & Communications and the wider team, the Senior Philanthropy Manager will lead the work to build a pipeline of major donors and family trusts and foundations.

You will be responsible for developing an excellent stewardship programme which nurtures income-generating relationships with Ataxia UK’s major donors. You will initially work with a fixed-term Philanthropy Consultant to lead the development of a researched and actionable pipeline of prospective new donors, and you will then work to successfully engage this pipeline. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a brand-new function as a senior member of an experienced team of fundraisers.

Ataxia UK operates a hybrid- working policy, with part time staff working 3 or 4 days a week expected to work from our offices in Highgate a minimum of 1 day a week. The role will require some occasional travel within the UK and, more rarely, internationally.

The right candidate will be a natural relationship builder with a proven track record of securing high value, long term partnerships with major donors; personally securing 5 and 6-figure gifts.

You will use excellent communication skills to write compelling and tailored cases for support. As a key member of the Fundraising & Communications department, you will bring creativity, insight and experience to the team, and you will be a confident ambassador and representative internally and externally.

As an experienced major donor fundraiser, you will be comfortable and confident engaging with High-Net-Worth Individuals and their offices, celebrities, politicians and c-suite professionals. The Role:
The UK Policy and Advocacy Manager will lead Kaleidoscope Trust’s UK-focused policy and public affairs activities, in line with the organisation’s strategic objectives, and support, where appropriate, the wider work of the Policy and Public Affairs Team, including with external relations, communications, campaigns and events.

This role aims to:
▪ Provide the Secretariat function to support the co-chairs of the APPG for Global LGBT+ Rights to deliver the APPG’s strategy and work plan.
▪ Build and maintain relationships with government officials and the wider policy community across the UK, strategically deploying senior organisational staff or representing Kaleidoscope Trust and the APPG in external meetings and civil society forums as directed, and support delivery of events where such stakeholders are to be engaged.

About the Youth Endowment Fund 

We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.

In recent years violent crime has risen significantly. Homicides, assaults, robberies and offences involving weapons have all seen sustained growth. We have also seen large increases in violent crime involving children and young people. This is a tragedy. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment and a mission that matters. We exist to prevent children becoming involved in violence. Our mission is to find what works and build a movement to put it into practice. A big part of the movement that we need to build is in the world of education. We need to inspire and connect with education leaders across England and Wales to spread what works and make our country safer for some of our most vulnerable children. We are looking for someone to lead on making this happen.

Key Responsibilities

We are making good progress building the evidence of what works within and around education to reduce violence, including launching our new Education, Children and Violence Guidance in May 2024 which provides school, college and alternative provision leaders with five evidence-based recommendations to help prevent children’s involvement in violence. We also have our Toolkit, annual Children, Violence and Vulnerability Report and new implementation resources due next year. But the big risk is that we publish these resources and nothing changes. That’s where you come in.

Your role is to help us ensure more senior education leaders within schools, colleges and alternative provision settings use our Guidance, toolkit, research and implementation tools to inform day to day operations and strategic decision making. This will involve:

• Developing great relationships and partnerships with executive and senior leaders in education, making connections and building credibility and trust with the sector.   
• Managing our new online digital self-assessment tool for sector leaders, driving awareness and engagement with education leaders and refining and optimising the system in collaboration with the software developers. 
• Synthesizing and analysing data from the self-assessment tool, using findings to produce value insights reports for YEF and the sector. 
• Creating implementation resources which respond to need and support education leaders to put evidence into practice. 
• Continuing to develop a strong understanding of education practice and policy across England and Wales. 
• Working out other effective ways to connect people with the evidence, then making those things happen, from regular virtual learning events to presentations.

Who we are looking for 

We’re looking for a strategic and creative Content & Communications Manager to lead the development and delivery of our multi-channel content. You will curate, create, and commission dynamic, multi-channel content that supports our mission to accelerate access to new technologies and treatments, advance research toward cures, and provide trusted resources to support people with T1D. 

Collaboration is key. You’ll work closely with people living with T1D, researchers, and advocates to amplify authentic voices and create well-evidenced content that informs and inspires. You'll also manage media relations, securing coverage to raise awareness of T1D and our work. 

Experience required 

You’ll have previous experience of: 

• Using your excellent written and oral communication skills to create engaging content 

• Planning content with multiple internal stakeholders from brief to delivery, ensuring a regular feed of content that meets organisational goals 

• Managing and motivating a team of content specialists 

• Working within a proactive press office, creating media plans, responding to enquiries and stewarding journalists. 

• Managing external agencies and freelancers, keeping work within scope and budget 

• Using tone of voice and brand guidelines to ensure consistency of content output 

• Building trust and good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders 

• Training others to create audience-focussed content 

• Using brand insight, UX, audience segmentation and design processes to deliver integrated multi-channel campaigns to increase engagement 

• Using analytical data to examine existing content and inform future content creation 

• Telling personal stories in a sensitive, creative and engaging way. 

• Flexing language to suit the intended audience

• Developing, coaching and motivating line reports

• Managing team resources, working out the most efficient ways to deliver high-impact content

Job Title: Campaign Manager - Better Business Act

Why this role?

In this role you would be responsible for driving forward the Better Business Act campaign, building relationships with stakeholders who could help us achieve this critical change and using learning from the campaign to contribute to the strategic design and development of B Lab UK’s policy and public affairs work.

In this role you will:

• Campaign Development & Management: Lead and execute the Better Business Act (BBA) campaign, set KPIs, track progress, and ensure alignment with B Lab UK’s policy strategy. Oversee BBA communications, manage relationships with spokespeople, and ensure Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (JEDI) principles are embedded.

• Technical Specialist & Relationship Management: Advise senior stakeholders on the BBA, represent it at events, build support among business and policy groups, and manage an events program to advance advocacy.

• Team Management: Line manages the Campaign & Events Coordinator and Public Affairs Officer, providing coaching and ensuring alignment across teams for effective collaboration.

Our client is a Charity which specialisies in the provision of high-quality independent living accommodation for people of limited financial means.  They are searching for a qualified Finance Manger to work with their leadership team, based in the Hounslow area.

The position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and is accountable to the Charity Directors and Finance Committee. The post is responsible for running and maintaining the Charity’s financial matters and records, including production of the management accounts and preparation of the draft annual report and the development of budgets and forecasts for strategic projects and other initiatives.  This is a key role, working with a great team and one that contributes directly to the smooth running of the Charity.

This position is office based, in a great location for public transport connections and in offices with excellent amenities.

Job Purpose:

· Manage day to day book-keeping and key financial processes.

· Produce accurate and timely monthly accounts.

· Develop quarterly reports, annual budgets, accounts and cash flow forecasts.

· Produce the required documents and process for audit partners.

· Plan and organise data for payroll processing.

· Partner with the Charity’s Directors and Finance Committee to develop budgets and forecasts for strategic projects and initiatives.

· Work with the Charity’s key partners to ensure that all governance and compliance matters are fulfilled.

· Work effectively with the team, stakeholders and residents on a day-to-day basis.

Position Requirements:

· A track record of working in finance and teamwork.

· Excellent business acumen and commercial skills.

· Have a high level of interpersonal, communication skills with a can-do attitude.

· Be a self-starter with excellent time-management, and problem-solving skills.

· A solid educational background and be a fully qualified accountant.
