Charity Fundraiser Jobs in Camden, Greater London
With 1 in 5 children struggling with their mental health, our surf therapy intervention is needed now more than ever. We transform the lives of children struggling with depression and anxiety. Through our 6 week course we help them to feel calm, confident, to have positive thoughts about themselves, to have higher self esteem and trust in others. We work with over 2000 children and young people across the UK every year and have reached over 14,000 over the past 14 years.
It is an exciting time to join the charity - we have a new CEO in post who has plans to take this charity to new heights - reaching even more children than ever before and we need an experienced fundraiser who can help us achieve that vision. Working as part of a small fundraising team you will have the ability to really make a substantial difference.
The role is advertised as 15 hours however there is the hope that this will end up being increased in the not too distant future. We will consider candidiates working remotely but for those based near HQ (Newquay, Cornwall) you will be able to join in with our pre work swims/paddles/coffee on the beach and our Bring and Share lunches! Please do not feel like you need to be a seasoned surfer for this role - the majority of the non delivery team are also not surfers!

You will be highly experienced in initiating and developing mutually beneficial relationships with individuals to achieve fundraising targets, with a proven track record of securing significant unrestricted funds.
They value passion, respect, trust, integrity, pragmatic activism and strength in diversity. Whilst they are passionate in promoting their aims, they are not judgmental and are inclusive. They particularly encourage applications from people who are underrepresented within their sector, including people from minority backgrounds and people with disabilities. They are committed to creating a movement that recognises and truly values individual differences and identities

About the Brent Centre for Young People (BCYP)
The Brent Centre for Young People is the leading mental health charity for young people in Northwest London, helping over 700 young people a year with a wide range of issues. We offer specialised treatment in the areas of depression, suicide prevention, tackling self-harm, eating disorders, exam anxiety and more. Our approach is rooted in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. We aim to reach significantly more young people in the years ahead, drawing on our heritage that combines specialist treatment in-house and outreach into communities. The Brent Centre is also an important Research Centre on Adolescent Breakdown and Adolescent Psychotherapy.
Fundraising at BCYP
BCYP has historically been very successful in raising funds from non-statutory sources, particularly trusts and foundations, and is grateful to hold a number of established relationships with grant- makers. We work hard to ensure that we submit excellent, data-driven applications and evaluations. Until now, applications have largely been submitted by our Fundraising Manager- Trusts & Foundations, with occasional support from a freelance bid-writer. We now want to recruit a new member of the team, to help us to grow our income stream in this area and help us to steward these key relationships.
In this exciting newly created role, you will be responsible for helping to grow our income from grant- makers to design and promote funding opportunities, and to steward relationships with supporters through the giving cycle. We are looking for a fundraiser with at least three to four years of experience in identifying prospects and grant-writing, and who has experienced success in securing funds. Vitally, we want to recruit an individual who is as committed to Brent’s vision, and who will work with us to help us be there for young people in the coming years.
We do appreciate that fundraising across radio is very niche and so are welcoming applications from candidates who have fundraising experience which has crossed over into media. Perhaps running large campaigns which have involved media interviews, PR projects etc.
We believe your skills in this areas are transferable to a radio environment and so are keen to hear from you as we recruit for this role.
