About the role:
As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will:
- Implement effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm.
- Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
- Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse.
You will need:
- Have a knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships).
- Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
- Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
- Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
- Direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people.
- Have excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals. Understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.
- Have strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.

The Opportunity
Centre 33 is looking to recruit an Engagement and & Support Project Worker, with significant practical experience of working with young people. A track record of providing practical and emotional support and guidance is a must as this is an integral part of the Centre 33 'Someone To Talk To' service. Your role will be to deliver excellent, safe, impactful and responsive information and support services to young people while developing good local links with other organisations supporting young people and the community.
Purpose of your job
You will be part of a team providing an open access 'one stop shop' at our Drop ins, offering information and on-going support to young people (aged 13-25), about how to make informed choices about their emotional wellbeing, work, education & finances, housing and sexual health. You will have wide-ranging and demonstrable experience of working with a complex case-load, assessing risk and need, and also of partnership working.
You will work to Centre 33’s values of being young person-led, collaborative, inclusive and striving for excellence. You will also be an exemplar of our relevant policies, compliance, standards and values and to help build a team culture.

About the role
We’re looking for an experienced social worker to join our Central Support & Social Care Team. This is a fully home-based team providing tailored support to children and young people with cancer across the UK, over the phone and via digital channels. The team works alongside our social work teams in hospitals across the UK.
A key remit of the team is to provide support to our hospital-based social work teams during periods of reduced capacity or a spike in referrals. So as well as 17.5 core hours each week, this postholder will be expected to undertake additional hours as and when required. Support carried out for hospital-based teams will also be over the phone or via digital channels - you won't be expected to travel to the hospital site.

This role is subject to a criminal record check. In the event of a successful application an enhanced criminal record check will be completed. This role is also subject to a Social Worker Registration.

You will have:
- A recognised Social Work qualification and current registration with Social Work England/ Scottish Social Services Council/Social Care Wales/Northern Ireland Social Care Council
- Experience working with children, young people and their families/carers in a social care setting.
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment, ideally in an NHS setting.
- Experience of delivering support to young people and families via different mediums including including over the phone and/or digital channels
- An understanding of the impact of serious illness for children, young people and their families.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.

- Provide one to one support to children and young people put in, and on occasions you may need to support with group work to children and young people.
- Proactively promote the service, raise awareness of services & work collaboratively with professionals to improve the access to and quality of services for children & young people.

The Role:
• Based at our Hainault Forest Visitor Centre,. this role is an important part of a small, friendly team delivering a welcoming and memorable experience for visitors to Hainault Forest.
• Working in the Woodland Trust’s visitor centre, the role will assist with retail operations, provide excellent customer service, help with visitor engagement activities, deal with enquiries and promote ways that visitors can support our cause - including Woodland Trust membership. It includes providing an important meet & greet function to visitors as well as signposting, dealing with enquiries, promoting membership and undertaking retail transactions.
• You’ll work collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers, and external partners to enhance the overall visitor experience at the forest; making a positive contribution to achieving our vision for the site.

About the role
As the Child and Youth Participation Advisor, you will be part of the Child and Youth Participation team, which supports children and young people—particularly those from refugee and diaspora communities—in driving change across our campaigning, fundraising, communications, and governance efforts.
In this role, the Advisor will work on a variety of projects involving children and young people, including managing the Young Peacemakers' Assembly, leading key external partnerships, and developing new participation opportunities for schools and young campaigner networks. A key focus will be ensuring that engagement is sensitive and appropriate, particularly when working with children and young people who may have direct experience of conflict or displacement.
The Advisor will deliver projects both within the Child and Youth Participation team and in collaboration with colleagues across the organisation. This includes contributing expertise in child and youth participation within our cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams (known as squads), ensuring best practices are followed and that participation is safe, ethical, and meaningful.
In this role, you will:
• Lead engagement with the Young Peacemakers' Assembly, a group of young people from refugee and diaspora communities who work together to create campaigns. You may also work with other groups of children and young people, such as the Youth Advisory Board, Scouts, schools, young campaigner networks, and external partners, working closely with colleagues across teams.
• Plan and run projects that enable children and young people to actively participate in Save the Children's work.
• Design and deliver engaging activities, workshops, training, and events tailored for children and young people.
• Support and advise colleagues on best practices in child participation, including developing and delivering internal training and resources.
• Ensure all projects follow safeguarding policies and risk assessment processes to keep children safe.
• Manage communication with children involved in projects, including handling inboxes, obtaining consent, and gathering feedback to improve participation.
About you
To be successful, it is important that you have:
• Experience working with diverse groups of young people in a professional or voluntary role, engaging them in campaigning, fundraising, programs, governance, or education to drive change. Ideally you will have direct experience of working with young people from refugee and diaspora communities.
• Proven ability to develop and design projects, campaigns, and activities specifically for children and young people.
• Strong facilitation skills, with knowledge of inclusive techniques to ensure meaningful participation, particularly when discussing difficult or emotionally sensitive subjects.

Job Purpose
Carers Manchester Contact Point (CMCP) is the first point of contact for unpaid carers seeking information, advice and support to help them with their caring role.
The service delivers a free confidential helpline for carers weekdays (Monday – Friday, 10am – 4pm). These times are subject to change, based on the needs and requirements of carers using the service.
The aim of this role is to be part of a team providing a comprehensive information, advice and support to carers in Manchester. The post holder will work alongside colleagues from Gaddum and potentially other organisations to be the first contact in a busy service providing advice via a telephone advice line and managing referrals made through digital sources. They will provide information and advice and refer more complex issues to the appropriate agencies delivering the Manchester Carers Pathway.
Key responsibilities
Advice giving
- Answering telephone calls into a central helpline offering support and guidance to unpaid carers in Manchester.
- Provide relevant and meaningful support and information to unpaid carers utilising internal and external resources.
- Inform carers about carers assessments and refer where necessary.
- Inform carers about emergency grants available and refer where necessary.
- Ensure all advice and support given is delivered in a timely manner to suit the needs of carers calling the helpline whilst balancing waiting callers.
Follow-up support
- Refer unpaid carers to local services to access local and culturally appropriate support in their area.
- Refer carers to Adult Social Care for Carers Assessments to discuss and improve their caring situation.
- Signpost carers to relevant services in Manchester suited to their individual need.
- Complete relevant grant applications for carers using the service where needed.
- Use Carers Manchester Contact Point and other reliable and accurate resources to find, interpret and communicate relevant information to carers
- Research and explore options and implications so that carers can make informed decisions.
- Write and maintain detailed case records for all casework completed.
- Collect required data for statistical monitoring and report preparation.
- Complete the required training to comply with quality assurance processes.
The post-holder will be required to undertake other tasks as reasonably directed by the CMCP Coordinator, which will usually be commensurate with the skills and experience of the post-holder.
