Waverley Care is Scotland’s leading HIV and Hepatitis C charity, and we are looking for a Policy & Communications Officer for an initial six-month contract.  This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of policy development and advocacy, ensuring Scotland remains on track to achieve zero new HIV transmission by 2030.

As the Policy & Communications Officer, you’ll be instrumental in shaping and delivering policy initiatives that support the Scottish Government’s commitments to ending HIV stigma and improving the lives of those living with HIV.

You will work proactively across the charity to ensure consistent policy messages and to inform influencing activities by producing briefings, consultation responses, and other communications content.

You will:

· Build and maintain strong relationships with MSPs, civil servants, and key stakeholders to drive Scotland’s progress toward eliminating Hepatitis C and achieving zero new HIV transmission by 2030.

· Produce high-quality internal and external briefings, consultation responses, press releases, media statements, social media posts and online content that align with Waverley Care’s policy positions.

· Represent Waverley Care at events, meetings, and networks, actively advancing the organisation’s policy objectives and supporting the Fast-Track Cities Scotland initiative.

· Plan and coordinate National Consortium meetings, including setting agendas, securing speakers, and taking minutes.

· Maintain and update databases of contacts and activities, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of policy and public affairs work, including compliance with Scotland’s Lobbying Register.

· Support and engage Waverley Care’s Community Panel, ensuring communications are inclusive and reflective of lived experiences and elevate the voices of those affected by blood-borne viruses.

· Develop evidence-based policy positions and provide strategic advice to support Scottish Government targets.

· Stay informed and proactive in monitoring policy developments related to blood-borne viruses (BBVs) and key public health initiatives in Scotland.

· Produce high-quality, evidence-based research reports that support Waverley Care’s policy objectives, influencing decision-makers and contributing to meaningful change.

The Mental Health Foundation is recruiting for a Sessional Worker to support our Parent Champion Group Project in the England Programmes team, based in Nottingham.

This exciting role will be the key contact and organiser of the new Parent Champion Group setting up in Nottingham to support Young Parents, providing support to the Parent & Families Project Manager.

What does the role involve?

• Organise weekly in-person Parent Champion Group (PCG) meetings in Nottingham, facilitating discussions, and supporting parents to attend through regular contact during the week.
• Work alongside the Project Manager to run focus groups with young parents to co-design the PCG, and ensure their lived experience is reflected in MHF policy, programme and research.
• Provide feedback to the Project Manager regularly, escalating where they are any concerns, and ensuring relevant safeguarding policies & procedures are adhered to.

What skills, knowledge and experience are we looking for?

• Understanding of the needs of young parents.
• Strong understanding of the importance of confidentiality & safeguarding.
• Excellent verbal communication & interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of people through a person-centred approach.
• Experience of collaboration and building effective relationships.

About the Role

Sussex Emmaus is a 57 bed supported accommodation project. We offer low to medium support for those who have experienced or may be at risk of experiencing homelessness. Emmaus supports people to work their way out of homelessness, providing a home for as long as someone needs it. Emmaus works with people who may have faced multiple disadvantages. Job Summary:
To provide support to Companions using a person-centred approach, both emotionally and practically, so they can live and work in the Emmaus Community. The role will involve using a Strength Based Practice model to encourage Companions to become resilient and fulfilled. Assist Companions to become independent and maximise their skills, where necessary accessing outside support and services. Where appropriate, in accordance with Companion requests, provide a move-on pathway that enables them to be ready to live independently. 
Develop and maintain positive partnerships with other agencies locally to enhance the support available to Companions. Act as an advocate and accompany Companions to formal meetings and appointments.
As part of a team, support the Community Manager in the referral and admissions procedures including conducting risk and needs assessments. To ensure that all Companion records and information is maintained in compliance with policies, procedures and the data protection act. Ensure that all Companion Risk and Needs Assessments are thoroughly and accurately completed to ensure their safety and the safety of others, where necessary liaising with external services and agencies delivering support. 
Promote and embed a proactive approach to equality and diversity, by example and approach, with a commitment to treat all staff, volunteers, visitors and Companions equally and with respect.
To be part of the on-call rota providing out of hours provision to the service, where necessary attending on site to resolve critical accidents or incidents.

About the job

We have an exciting opportunity for a Chef de Partie in our Catering team at St Joseph’s Hospice. As a Chef de Partie, you will ideally be used to working in a busy catering location, as well as working with fresh food, and have some knowledge of palliative care catering needs or have worked within the healthcare sector. The post requires an enthusiastic and confident approach where, as a member of the team, you will ensure that both our patients and retail customers’ needs are exceeded.

• To be qualified to C&G 7051/2 or NVQ equivalent at Level 2 or higher
• Up-to-date knowledge of modern cooking procedures
• Experience of cooking food to meet the specific nutritional needs of patients

About the opportunity:

The Tutor Communications Officer will work closely with the Communications and Media Manager to support all aspects of stakeholder communications and engagement at Action Tutoring. The role will require you to develop engaging and motivational content when communicating with our volunteer tutor network, schools and other stakeholders.

The Tutor Communications Officer will develop their data management and analytical skills, when evaluating the impact of communications and maintaining subscriber data. They will also develop detailed knowledge of our e-communications software (Campaign Monitor) to create precise and engaging email campaigns with accurate segmentation of recipients. 

Comprehensive induction and training will be provided. Action Tutoring is committed to providing development opportunities for its staff and, as a growing charity, there are plenty of opportunities to take on new areas of responsibility. 

Key responsibilities of the role: 

• Work with Communications and Engagement teams to create impactful communications that recruit new tutors, re-engage lapsed volunteers, and convert former tutors into long-term charity supporters.
• Maintain and analyse data across our e-communications platforms (ValueText, Campaign Monitor) and our volunteer database (Salesforce) to optimize audience targeting and engagement, while ensuring GDPR compliance and data cleanliness.
• Respond to tutors’ enquiries and feedback complaints as part of managing the communications’ team inbox, whilst supporting the wider team to do the same.
• Work with the Communications and Media Manager and other communications officer to produce interesting and relevant pupil and tutor case studies throughout the year. Collaborate with our Programme Team and your MarComms colleagues to source appropriate case studies from our partner schools and volunteer network.

Contract and hours: Permanent, full-time. We offer flexible hours with 9.30-4 as core hours. A
full working week is 37.5 hours.

As Senior Volunteer Coordinator every day is different - from offering guidance and advice to volunteer managers, to developing new training opportunities and attending events to promote volunteering across Aquarius services - you will certainly be kept busy. Organisation and time management is key as you’ll manage all elements of volunteering and monitor and evaluate volunteering data across the organisation.

You will play an active role in someone’s volunteering journey, from recruitment and ongoing support, to matching them to the right role. You will be key in ensuring that individuals have the right skills and training to thrive as volunteers with Aquarius. It is a highly rewarding role which relies on consistent communication and the ability to motivate others.

Aquarius is a charity that helps people and communities overcome the harm caused by alcohol, drugs and gambling. Right now, we’re looking for a self-confident and energetic individual with a good understanding of these issues to play a key part in developing and supporting all volunteer programmes across Aquarius services. 

You will:

• Work with the Participation Development Officer, supporting the key aspects of the Group Volunteer Strategy
• Coordinate and support the development and delivery of volunteer programmes, and support local services with recruitment, support and management of volunteers – including establishing a pathway with local universities
• Develop and deliver volunteer training across the organisation, and also support engagement with the ANCHOR group and young people’s steering groups to help promote co-production and ensure that empowerment is implemented across the organisation.

Aquarius Action Projects is a long-established charity (since 1982) based in Birmingham with a national reach of contracts and Partnerships. Aquarius is a subsidiary of Waythrough – a large charity that specialises in mental health, alcohol, drugs and related areas.

The Society of Antiquaries of Scotland are looking to hire a new member of staff to help co-ordinate and deliver the Finding Futures for Scotland’s Churches Project.

Working closely with Scotland’s Churches Trust, this role will collate country-wide information on both heritage and community value of Scotland’s churches. This will include collating existing information and where knowledge gaps are identified, co-ordinating heritage surveys, and engaging community-representative groups to undertake community value assessment applying the University of Stirling’s Social Value Toolkit. It will also involve setting up and supporting a network of key stakeholders. 

Role: Research Officer– full-time, fixed term for two years.

Salary: £29,200 per annum, with an additional 10% pension contribution.

Contract: 24 months (2 years)

Hours: 37.5 hours (five days) per week with flexible daytime working hours on Monday–Friday, and an occasional requirement to assist at evening or weekend events with time of in lieu (TOIL) given for overtime provided.

Location: Hybrid working – all staff are expected to work from our office at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh at least twice per week (pro rata). Main Responsibilities

•  Support the Head of Research and respective Directors of Scotland’s Churches Trust and the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland in project delivery 
• Undertake a rapid needs assessment of Scotland’s church buildings, including both desk-based and proactive survey 
• Create and maintain a database to store and share information
• Commission the creation of and maintain the project microsite, including adding regular work updates and project database 
• Work with at least five community groups to undertake heritage survey using the Recording Churches Project 
• Commission at least five community-representative organisations to undertake community value survey using the University of Stirling’s Social Value Toolkit methodology 
• Support the work of the Finding Futures Action Group as secretariat 
• Organise a symposium, workshops, and other project events as required 
• Provide updated information to any relevant stakeholder (for example, to create updates to the Canmore database or Local Authority Historic Environment Record)
• Provide written reports and updates as required, and contribute to final project reporting

At Youth Action Alliance (YAA), our mission is to support the personal and social development (their values, beliefs, ideas and skills) of the young people living in Kensington and Chelsea, enabling them to increase their resilience and skills in the present and promote their ambitions for the future. We are ambitious to grow, to continue supporting more young people and influence positive change. To do this we are looking to appoint a Business Support Officer to provide a range of financial support duties and administer the organisation’s general ledger and finance system.

This post will provide high-quality support to the technology and operations of the organisation, to ensure the smooth running of the main site and enable YAA to meet and deliver on its core objectives and obligations. The post holder will provide administrative support to YAA, covering a wide range of tasks and activities including (but not limited to) procurement coordination, travel and logistics, department meetings and off-site activities, diary management, meeting coordination, and minute-taking for our board and meetings for staff, members and stakeholders.
