Do you have the passion and skills to tackle some of the biggest challenges facing nature and climate? Many of these challenges are complex and long-term, and our systems change campaigning function works with colleagues across the RSPB to tackle them head on. We are recruiting for a Senior Campaigner in our Campaigning & Mobilisation department.
What’s the role about
Our systems change campaigns work tackles big, complex problems facing nature and climate over the long-term. The current focus is to drive systemic change that creates the right conditions for nature-friendly farming to prosper. You will focus campaigning pressure wherever it can be exerted to best effect – and not always at governments, but also at other key actors. Through the campaigns you develop you will help us realise large-scale positive change for nature and climate that builds and builds.
The campaigns you help develop will have multiple elements, offering our phenomenal supporters a range of ways to get involved. Their supporter journey will deepen engagement and empowerment of individual campaigners over time, equipping them to tackle these complex problems in their own way.
As part of a dispersed team, you could be based anywhere in the UK, so long as you’re able to travel to central locations to get together with colleagues, and on occasion to meet with colleagues in Cardiff, Belfast, Edinburgh and Birmingham.
In this role, key activities will include:
- Co-creating and delivering systems change campaigns on behalf of the RSPB, working collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation.
- Responsibility to roll out systems change campaigns in two of the four countries of the UK (with another Senior Campaigner covering the other two).
- Recruiting and line managing professional volunteers to provide expert guidance or deliver campaigns.
- Building key internal and external relationships to support development and delivery of systems change campaigns.
- Maintaining technical expertise and analysis of external context relating to the current campaign and challenges facing nature.
- Ensuring compliance with legal, Charity Commission, and internal policy on campaigning standards.

- A passion for nature, addressing climate change and campaigning!
- Relevant experience to effectively deliver the responsibilities and tasks of this role, including demonstrable campaigning experience.
- Ability to see the big picture, understand and simplify complex systems affecting nature.
- Ability to understand where, when and how to apply campaigning pressure for maximum impact.
- Ability to drive forward work in a complex, large organization and through a four-country operating model.
- Excellent time management skills to focus own time on the highest priorities.
General information
- From time-to-time, and particularly at the start of a new campaign, you will be expected to come together with others working on that campaign, and co-locate face-to-face for a few days. There will be some meetings together, and also the opportunity to work side by side on the project for a short period. The RSPB will subsidise any required accommodation or travel as per our Expenses Policy. This will help build relationships, break down silos, and make working together online easier and more enjoyable. This co-location will usually be at an RSPB office and will be agreed in advance. Outside of these co-location moments you will be based in your contracted place of work as usual. Reasonable adjustment to the above can be discussed with the Line Manager.

The Evaluation Officer role is a specialist post created to support the management, development and implementation of evaluation programmes across Alzheimer’s Society. The role is pivotal to promoting a culture of continuous improvement across all directorates. The post holder will support the Evaluation and Impact Team in the development and implementation of evaluation and impact measurement programmes for support services, influencing and research activities across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

The successful candidate will benefit from working as part of a small and supportive team, whilst also taking responsibility for a number of their own evaluation projects. They will connect with colleagues across the Society to understand areas of work and develop appropriate evaluation approaches, provide evaluation support and recommendations, report on and share findings.

- Proficient in Qualitative and Quantitative research approaches in social research
- Able to lead on 2/3 projects simultaneously, using project management approaches.
- Able to apply research methodologyinto practice from scoping projects, to producing reports and making recommendations, aligned to an evidence base and with the Help and Hope strategy

- Work alongside the Content team to research and develop acquisition products, journeys and communications, gathering information, case studies and photos for use in all direct marketing campaigns.
- Manage relationships with external agencies including media houses, designers and printers; to negotiate costs and monitor performance
- Working collaboratively with a number of internal teams to ensure effective use of supporter profiling for delivery across a range of annual acquisition campaigns.

Job purpose:

Line Manager: Digital Communications Lead
Your responsibilities will include:
Social media delivery and community management
- Plan and deliver inspiring and effective social media content, including as part of engagement campaigns, fundraising appeals and initiative launches, and in support of our partners and members.
- Produce text- and video-/graphic-based social media posts and campaigns that are both suited to our target audiences and adapted for the most appropriate social channels.
- Carry out community management across the charity's digital channels, triaging queries and drafting responses.
- Assist with the optimisation of Rewilding Britain's current social media channels and the identification of new opportunities/platforms/trends that would help further our mission.
Email communications
- Support the Communications and Engagement team with the planning, building and scheduling of email communications (campaigns, supporters, fundraising, corporate partners etc) within Mailchimp.
- Assist with the AB testing of our email marketing and executing a plan of continuous improvement for our emails.
- Support with managing our enquiry inboxes as and when required.
Reporting and optimising
- Collate statistics on the performance of our social and email channels, in line with our KPIs, and work closely with the Digital Communications Lead to make ongoing recommendations for our output.
- Implement feedback and lessons learned to refine and improve our social media approach.
- Stay current with sector and specialist trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously grow the effectiveness of our channels, particularly social media.
Communications support
- Take responsibility for triaging internal requests for content output across our channels and coordinate this across the Communications and Engagement team.
- Assist the team in keeping our image library up to date, by uploading and tagging new imagery.
- Support the team by uploading content to Rewilding Britain's website, following best practice. You may also provide support for more involved web optimisation projects.

Terms and conditions and staff benefits
The role is a full-time, 5-day-week (35 hours) position.
The salary is £23,000 - £27,000 per annum depending upon experience.
There will be some freedom for the person to determine their own working arrangements each week, within limitations, providing the work is delivered.
Rewilding Britain employees benefit from 25 days annual leave per year (pro rata for part time roles), rising to 30 days over 5 years. A generous employer-matched pension scheme is also available.
We are a virtual team who work from home and/or co-working spaces. We will support you to achieve a suitable virtual working environment. Some meetings are held face to face across Britain, so a willingness to travel with occasional overnight stays is desirable.

This is a senior role within our People & Organisational Development directorate. Reporting to the Associate Director, People Operations you will play a key role in supporting Marie Curie's 5-year strategy by enabling employees to focus their time on patients and services by implementing efficient, prompt, automated and human-focused processes across data, systems, administration, payroll and audit.
Your Role:
- Overall Direction and Development: Leading the payroll team, you will ensure efficient and accurate payroll processing.

- Payroll systems expertise. Highly proficient with payroll software (Oracle and/or Zellis is highly desirable). Advanced Excel is additionally required.

- Project management experience. Proven achievements in leading payroll-related projects, such as systems implementations or process improvements.
- Strong ability to identify, assess and solve payroll-related issues with a proactive and strategic approach.

The RSPB, Europe’s leading nature conservation NGO, is seeking a Director of Supporter Fundraising to lead the charity’s work in recruiting and stewarding the next generation of individual supporters to help address the nature and climate emergency.
The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) is a charity for the conservation of birds and nature, bringing people together who love birds and other wildlife, and who want to take action to restore the health and diversity of the natural world. The charity now manages and protects 160,000 hectares of land across the four countries of the UK.
Public support has been at the centre of RSPB’s work since its foundation as a campaigning organisation in 1889. With 1.1 million current members contributing over £95m to the charity’s cause in 2024, the RSPB has set itself a bold ambition to increase supporter numbers and net income from this core area.
Working closely with the Executive Director for Income and Conservation Investment and other senior stakeholders across RSPB, the Director of Supporter Fundraising will ensure that the organisation maintains and increases its income in membership, individual giving, legacies, in memoriam and community fundraising. The role will be responsible for a large team working to develop new strategies and to engage and grow a diverse supporter base, enabling the charity to inspire long-term support and active engagement with their work.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in growing a large and complex individual giving or subscription programme across multiple products and channels. They will also have demonstrable experience of leading successful organisational transformation to create long-term value, as well as of leading projects within a complex stakeholder or matrix management environment. Significant experience in individual supporter fundraising or consumer marketing through direct marketing techniques will be essential.
As a leader, the successful candidate will have strong collaboration skills with the ability to inspire, develop and motivate teams to achieve challenging goals in a variety of contexts. They will also be able to use their networking and interpersonal skills to build excellent internal and external relationships and must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performing environment. What we are trying to achieve: The twin crises of nature and climate emergencies have forced the Wildlife Trusts to rethink their role. Collectively, we have set out the new and ambitious Strategy 2030. Goal 1 of that strategy is to get nature into recovery with the Wildlife Trusts providing the leadership required to achieve 30 by 30: 30% of seas and land in nature’s recovery by 2030.
Nature’s recovery rests on five critical interventions: (1) the development of a nature recovery network; (2) creating landscape recovery areas at a scale where natural processes can operate to drive up species abundance; (3) regenerative agriculture; (4) green infrastructure threading through our towns, cities and countryside and, (5) at sea, an effective network of highly protected marine areas.

National Debtline is an award-winning free debt advice service run by the Money Advice Trust, an independent charity founded in 1991 to help people across the UK to tackle their debts and manage their money with confidence.
As a debt adviser you will provide advice, support, and money management help to people struggling with problem debt. This will include helping callers to form a budget, prioritise their debts and identify possible solutions, in compliance with Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulations. You will be required to fact find, analyse and work out solutions for the client.
This is a role for resilient candidates who are consistent in approach and can demonstrate that they are able to deal with subjects that can be highly emotive and sensitive. Training and assessments are intense and there is a requirement to manage your own development during and outside working hours to stay up to date with new legislation in this arena. You will need initiative to research some of the finer technical points of debt advice. The calls we receive and productivity targets you need to achieve are challenging and you will be dealing with vulnerable clients daily who may be experiencing poor mental health or at risk of suicide.

Experience in a telephony customer service role and giving telephone advice would be an advantage but not essential..

You must be able to work a shift pattern between our service hours of 9.00am – 8.00pm with a one in five Saturday working rota (9.30 am – 1.00 pm). Shifts and Saturday work are subject to review and change. We also have part time roles available working a minimum of 27.5 hours per week.
We offer full training and extensive support. Working hours during the initial training period will be 9am to 5pm, with the majority being mandatory on-site training days at our newly refurbished offices in Birmingham. After training you will move either to office / hybrid working - your choice.
You must be able to commit to training full time for the first 10 weeks of employment.
