A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Head of Finance and Governance with a human rights foundation, on a full-time, permanent basis. As Head of Finance and Governance, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations and ensuring the foundation adheres to the highest standards of regulatory compliance.

As Head of Finance and Governance, you will:

- Oversee all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting

- Manage and monitor cash flow, forecasts by restricted causes, and the overall financial performance

- Prepare accurate financial reports for the COO, Founders or Board of Trustees, including monthly management accounts, impact reports and reporting against the agreed KPIs

- Lead on the preparation of the annual budget, consolidating the UK and overseas budget, and provide financial analysis to support decision-making across the organisation

- Ensure compliance with all tax, financial, and regulatory requirements relevant to a charitable organisation

- Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures to manage risk and ensure strong governance across UK and Overseas

- Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management framework to identify and mitigate financial, operational, and reputational risks.

The successful applicant will:

- Have significant demonstrable experience in finance within the charity sector, in a similar role

- Be fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or other relevant professional qualification)

- Have a strong understanding of financial management, charity governance, and compliance requirements

- Have experience in managing external audits and working with auditors, legal professionals, and regulatory bodies

- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

PURPOSE OF JOB

A critical new role within the Fundraising Team, the Grants and Reporting Manager will manage a portfolio of donor funding agreements to ensure we successfully deliver and communicate our work in compliance with funders’ agreements and expectations, charitable regulations, and our strategy. There is significant scope to develop and implement new ways of working and processes that will benefit the programme.

The Fundraising Team is responsible for £5.85m and growing annual income from companies, trusts and foundations, and governments. This role is essential to managing our commitments across agreements and directly managing complex grants. The Grants and Reporting Manager works across Trees for Cities, with members of the Fundraising, Finance, Operations, Urban Forests (Projects), Development, Impact and Engagement teams to deliver our mission in line with funder requirements and expectations. This role will work closely with the Fundraising Director and sits within the Fundraising Department.

With experience of managing complex grants and delivering compelling, quality funder reports, you will ensure we meet and exceed donor requirements and expectations. Your organisation skills will enable you to manage and deliver funder requirements in line with accounting, fundraising and legal best practice.

Summary of key duties:

Executive Assistance:

· Schedule, organise and minute meetings as required for Leadership Team members, ensuring all necessary arrangements are considered.

· Support Trustee recruitment processes through the creation of application packs, scheduling recruitment process, managing applications and interviews, scheduling induction activities and creating digital and hard copy induction packs.

Human Resources Administration:

· Support the development and delivery of effective HR processes for the Trust, in conjunction with the COO.

· Support recruitment of both employees and Trustees through placement of adverts and issuing of relevant communications during the recruitment process in a timely manner, and liaising with the recruiting manager to ensure the process is planned and delivered in a supportive and accessible manner.

· Oversee and manage the administration of the IRIS HR system.

· Ensure reports relating to people management are available and issued to People Managers on a regular basis.

Use of Overton House:

· Establish, and keep under review, the policy and process for the booking of spaces at Overton House to external users.

· Oversee bookings by partner organisations, ensuring all appropriate agreements and guidance are in place for external users and that bookings and visitors are well managed.

· Liaise with the Marketing & Communications Team to ensure that appropriate communications about available space and booking processes are in place.

· Oversee the receiving of external visitors to Overton House, ensuring a welcoming and accessible environment for all.

Essential Knowledge and Experience:

· Proven experience of working as a Personal Assistant/Executive Assistant at a senior level

· Experience of providing administrative support and project coordination for a range of parallel projects

· Experience of accurate minute-taking for both formal and informal meetings

Desirable Knowledge and Experience:

NRAS has an exciting opportunity for maternity leave cover for a period of 12 months. We are looking for someone who is a great communicator, has evidence of establishing relationships with funders and is proactive and motivated to join our friendly and ambitious fundraising team, part-time 3 days a week.

The National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS), is the only organisation in the UK specialising in both rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). Due to its targeted focus on RA and JIA, NRAS provides truly expert and wide-ranging services to support, educate and campaignfor people living with these complex autoimmune conditions, their families and the health professionals who treat them.

As a small-medium sized charity (approximately 30 staff members), with a current income of circa £1.8m, we achieve a huge amount on a small budget, punching well above our weight. The role of Part-Time Trusts and Giving Officer will focus on medium to high value Trusts and Grants bids, report writing, relationship management and application pipeline management.

1. Main Purpose of Job

- Develop and implement an action plan for medium to large trust and grant fundraising bids with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and the Senior Trusts and Company Giving Fundraiser

- Working with the COO to continue to sustain, develop and grow this important income stream in line with the Charity’s strategic objectives

- Build and develop relationships with a portfolio of potential and strategically important grant and trust bodies

- Maintain and deliver a schedule of applications and reporting to grant makers, including prospecting for new funders

- Working across departments, to help develop creative projects for funders that include well balanced and reasoned budgets, which are attractive and align with NRAS objectives

We are seeking an experienced Impact Analyst to support The Seafarers’ Charity to evidence, report on, and communicate the impact of our grant-making.

The post holder is responsible for analysing and reporting on quantitative and qualitative data from our grant-making, monitoring and evaluation, and research activities. This role involves managing the ongoing monitoring, evaluation and reporting of our grant-making to showcase its impact.

Key responsibilities:

1. To lead on the annual monitoring and evaluation process for all grant awards. Including requesting, reviewing and extracting relevant information to produce consolidated reports.

1. To lead on reporting the impact of the work of The Seafarers’ Charity to an external audience and specifically, external funders. This includes regular reports on the Lloyds Register Foundation’s funding of the International Fund for Fishing Safety, amongst other projects.
2. To contribute to the improvement of data collection and classification to magnify the charity’s ability to demonstrate and evidence its impact.
3. To establish processes that support improvement in collection and collation of data and reporting on data.
4. Sharing and publishing grants data using the 360 Giving Data Standard.

About the role

Weʼre seeking a Development Coordinator with a strong background in successful grant writing and funder relationship management. This role will focus on researching and securing grant funding. About the role

WorldSkills UK is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Manager to support our Financial Controller within a small Finance and Procurement team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in finance operations, high reliability, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and efficiency. Role purpose

This role supports the Financial Controller with the day-to-day operations of the Finance and Procurement team, ensuring that financial transaction postings are complete and accurate in preparation for the management accounts. It involves working closely with colleagues across the organisation, providing assistance with financial queries and promoting smooth, efficient financial operations.

Key tasks and responsibilities

1. Ensure the accurate, timely processing of financial transactions, helping to ensure efficient operations

• Prepare and process invoices and Purchase Orders (POs), ensuring accuracy and timely handling.

• Prepare weekly payment runs and expense claim processing, helping to ensure consistent, smooth operations.

• Work on bank, creditor, and debtor reconciliations, assisting in resolving queries to maintain accurate records.

2. Ensure the monthly payroll preparation and processing ensuring accuracy and timely processing of any changes:

• Prepare monthly payroll and pension contributions payments ensuring accuracy and adherence to timelines as instructed by HR.

• Maintain electronic records for payroll, assisting with year-end documentation and ensuring compliance.

3. Lead on the provision of financial systems, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility:

• Manage Sage 2000 and Sicon/WAP updates and troubleshooting, providing assistance to other colleagues as needed.

• Maintain organised electronic filing systems to ensure accessible and reliably data for reporting and audits.

4. Leading the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely completion:

• Under the guidance of the Financial Controller, conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations helping to identify and resolve any discrepancies.

• Support end-of-year preparation to ensure compliance with statutory reporting and thorough, accurate record-keeping.

5. Provide support to the Financial Controller in budgeting and forecasting:

• Assist the Financial Controller with budget preparation and forecasting, contributing to analysis that informs strategic decisions.

• Perform variance analysis, identifying deviations from budgets and aiding in explanations and corrective recommendations.

6. Prepare records and documentation for audits and grant claims, supporting compliance

• Assist in gathering documentation for audits, ensure necessary information is organised and available.

• Support monthly grant claims by helping to ensure accurate documentation that aligns with funding requirements.

7. Ensure tax in particular VAT compliance tasks are completed accurately, meeting regulatory requirements:

• Ensuring the timely and accurate completion of VAT returns, in adherence to tax regulations.

• Support end-of-year tasks, such as generating P11d returns, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

General

This role is office based (as above) but with flexible hybrid working. It is expected the postholder will attend the office at least once or twice a week.

Full time working hours are a minimum of 35 hours per week, normal working hours are 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday although we pride ourselves on having a flexible approach to our working practices and service delivery and are happy to discuss flexible working options, including part time, with suitable candidates.
