About you

Desirably you will have some experience of working as an Advocate, providing welfare, supporting, or caring for Adults or young people who have support needs, ideally for those with a variety of communication needs, mental ill health, physical health issues, or barriers to accessing education and support.

You should have worked or volunteered in health, social care, welfare, support services, education or young person’s services, or advice and guidance.

About Women in Prison

Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. We also campaign for systems change that addresses the root causes of offending, reduces the harmful impact of prison, and creates workable, community-based alternatives to imprisonment.

Job Purpose:

Women in Prison’s Project Workers deliver high-quality, trauma-informed, independent advocacy for women in communities and in prisons, which focuses on early intervention, and holistic provision as part of a ‘whole system’ multi-agency response that looks to address the root causes of women’s offending.

The primary purpose of this role is to provide in-depth, ongoing support to a caseload of women in the community of Manchester and Trafford, whilst delivering regular workshops to women in the community.

1. Provide high-quality, trauma-responsive advocacy and support to a caseload of women in contact with, or at risk of being in contact with the criminal justice system.
2. Undertake risk and needs assessments and co-producing bespoke support plans with women across the nine pathways to reoffending.
3. Monitor case management systems to ensure accurate and timely data recording, aligning with contract KPIs and WIP policies.
4. Champion the core values of Women in Prison, including social justice and feminism in all internal and external communications, articulating their importance to the work we do.

The Place exists to develop, nurture and celebrate dance ideas and experiences for all. About the role:

Victim Support have been successful in securing funding for the delivery of Drive. Drive is an innovative national framework that aims to improve the lives and safety of victims and children affected by domestic abuse by holding high-risk perpetrators to account. This involves the identification and targeting of high risk/high harm perpetrators and combines case management with a co-ordinated multi-agency response.

This role is based from our Blackpool Office, delivering a service that covers Blackpool, Wyre, Fylde, Lancaster and surrounding areas. You will be eligible to apply for Hybrid working (2 days per week from home) after successful completion of your probation.

The Victim Liaison Officer will act as the conduit between Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (who support high risk victims of DA) and Drive Case Managers (who support perpetrators) to ensure that risks posed to victims are assessed and information is shared in order to minimise that risk. You will be responsible for:

• Contacting victims to conduct risk assessments, safety planning and referrals to IDVA and other services as appropriate.
• Supporting clients to understand the purpose of Drive and assist them in recognising the features and dynamics of domestic abuse present in their situation.
• You will be a key member of the perpetrator panel. You will research and gather information to present the views of victims and the risks posed to them in order for risk to be managed and mitigated where possible.

You will need:

• An in depth understanding of domestic abuse, risk assessment and risk management including experience of working with victims of domestic abuse.
• Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
• Have theoretical, practical and procedural knowledge of civil and criminal justice remedies for victims of domestic abuse and their children
• Empathy and a genuine desire to help and support victims of domestic abuse

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

FUNDRAISING

• Be a point of contact for fundraising, ensuring a positive experience for funders and managing financial transactions to agreed fundraising policies and processes.
• Develop a regional Grant Programme, focusing on unrestricted income and feeding into fundraising management reporting. 
• Identify, research, and communicate income and partnership opportunities, working proactively with colleagues across the Group to scope fundable initiatives that provide added value. 
• Work alongside the team to develop high-quality grant funding applications, cases for support, and budgets. Complete the end-to-end process, ensuring all applications are thorough and competitive.
• Oversee grant reporting and invoicing, ensuring prompt fulfilment in line with all grant agreements and reporting requirements, liaising with relevant teams across the Group. 
• Plan, implement and manage various campaigns and activities, which may include but are not limited to local events, national events, outreach, and fundraising opportunities.

PARTNERSHIP BUILDING

• Attend networking events to build engagement and partnerships with local and national organisations.
• Build a rolling calendar of charity of the year application deadlines. Provide excellent stewardship, using innovative ways to keep all parties engaged and informed of relevant news and updates by SIG.
• Support partners in fundraising endeavours and signposting to new and existing opportunities.

What we would like, but not essential:

• Previous experience in writing successful grant applications to Charitable Trusts and Foundations
• Previous experience working in a customer-facing role
• Professional Qualification in a relevant discipline which can include Marketing, English, Business Management
• Experience in a similar size organisation and/or charity sector organisation
• Confidence in presenting to varying audiences
• Proficiency in navigating online and offline fundraising tools and systems
• Knowledge of Health and Social Care, Best Practice, and the support needs of vulnerable people within society

The facilities Officer will be responsible for the building, reactive building works, renovation, and repair of the building. Working as a senior member of the maintenance team under the supervision of the Facilities Manager.
 
Additionally, this person will ensure that day-to-day repairs and planned maintenance of Your Place properties are efficiently and effectively carried out. The post-holder will monitor the performance of internal operatives and contractors handling communications and ensuring the work is carried out in line with completion targets and quality standards. Furthermore, the Senior Maintenance Officer will carry out minor repairs to the buildings, plumbing and electrical systems.
 
The ideal candidate will possess experience in facilities, and ideally experience working as part of a team and interacting with a variety of people. A basic understanding of health and safety and risk assessment is necessary. The role requires flexibility, including the ability to work evenings and weekends on a rota. Additionally, holding a clean driving license is essential.

What will you be doing?

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Advocate to join our team covering Edinburgh. You will be involved in one-to-one advocacy along with group work across the area; this could be in a clients’ home or other suitable community venue and be home based for telephone for administrative tasks.  Therefore, access to your own transportation and a suitable home internet connection is essential. 

This is a full-time role for 35 hours per week, applicants who do not hold the Level 2 Award in Independent Advocacy will start on £22,500 per annum.

About you

The Public Sector Development Manager will work at both a national and local level to secure grants that help the Statutory team achieve its annual income target. Working across the charity, she/they/he will build relationships with colleagues and senior stakeholders, and source and share information with funders through engaging written materials, phone conversations and face-to-face meetings. Alongside managing their own portfolio, she/they/he will support team members to maximise income from public sector funding streams.

The Major Giving department is open and supportive with an active social life The wider Trusts & Statutory Team has grown considerably - increasing its annual income by more than £6 million since 2017/18.
