The Supporter-led Fundraising (SLF) team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing income from individuals, groups, and regional corporate partners across the UK. SLF bring in a significant number of new supporters and income to the charity through mass participation events, fundraising products, and self-fundraising events. The team manage these supporters to give them the best possible experience with ARUK, and to help them fundraise for a cure.
As the Senior Marketing & Engagement Manager in a one-year FTC role, you will lead the Marketing & Engagement team. You will manage the Marketing & Engagement Manager and support the work of the Community Fundraising and Sporting Events teams in order to deliver our strategy and meet our annual income target.
You will: support the development and progression of the Marketing & Engagement Manager and two Marketing Campaigns Officers, oversee the strategy for SLF-wide marketing campaigns, manage marketing budgets and own the relationships with external media and creative agencies, support with sign off for all SLF marketing content, own stakeholder management with Heads and Managers across ARUK, and oversee a new engagement strategy to review and implement a new stewardship plan across SLF supporters.
This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract, or on the return of the substantive post holder, to cover a period of maternity leave.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
· Shape the strategic direction for marketing and supporter engagement for the SLF function within the charity.
· Innovation – be responsive to the ever-changing digital landscape and react to trends and opportunities.
· Work closely with the Digital and other Marketing teams across ARUK to integrate the newly appointed media agency: ensure best practice, more aligned working, better spending of budgets, and improved performance and results.
· Team leadership and stakeholder management – you will support the team with prioritisation of work and requests based on the wider Fundraising & Marketing priorities to support growth.
· Manage the SLF relationship with external media and creative agencies.
· Creative sign off of all SLF marketing content.
· Working with SLF Heads and Senior Managers to deliver £7m annual income within SLF, defining and making sure SLF priorities are delivered, shaping team culture and developing the growth strategy and ambition
Strategy and planning
· With the support of the Director of Supporter-led Fundraising, lead the development of the overall SLF marketing strategy to deliver exceptional supporter relationships, partnerships, and fundraising products to achieve further transformational growth.
· Be the digital marketing expert among SLF products and events teams, leading the Marketing & Engagement team to support on the delivery of their income objectives.
· Lead the development of the Marketing & Engagement team’s annual operational planning and five-year strategy, driving greater focus on scaling up the volume and value of supporters whilst maintaining great engagement and supporter experience.
Product marketing and management
· Lead the Marketing & Engagement team to support with the strategic planning and delivery of new and existing fundraising products/events to maximise income and attract new audiences.
· Ensure the creative and brand integration of products across SLF to drive maximum value and awareness.
· Support the development and delivery of all products on time, on budget, and on brand across a variety of media.
· Routine end of campaign reviews and analysis, with proactive adaptation of plans to optimise results.
· With the Marketing & Engagement Manager, be the SLF points of sign off for all marketing materials, responsible for proofreading and approving all marketing literature and brand materials for the department.
· Lead the team to deliver exceptional marketing creative and copy in-house, with support from the Design and Brand teams.
Supporter engagement
· Write inspiring marketing copy and compelling communications supporting SLF activities to drive action.
· Lead the team to deliver and implement a new supporter engagement strategy, improving stewardship and engagement journeys across all SLF supporters.
· Work with teams across ARUK to develop and implement improved SLF CRM/supporter segmentation, supporter journeys, and lifetime value understanding.
· Working with the Insight team and SLF Heads, improve SLF audience insights, interpretation, and application.
People management
· Management and development of the Marketing & Engagement Manager and support their growth as the manager of two Marketing Campaigns Officers.
· Continue to develop the vision, purpose, and strategy for the Marketing & Engagement team.
· Agency relationship management across a variety of partners and suppliers, including our media and creative agencies.
· Work with the Head of Communications, Head of Brand and Head of Digital to ensure all communications and activities are aligned across the charity.
· Work together with Heads and Senior Managers across the organisation, integrate the new media agency to drive better planning and collaboration, aligning strategically for our next phase of growth.
Budget management and reporting
· Annual budgeting of fundraising product/marketing expenditure and regular reforecasting and reporting.
· Annual operational planning and five-year forecasting, including quarterly Fundraising & Marketing directorate check-ins.
· Work closely with key teams across ARUK to ensure engagement, acquisition, and remittance is monitored and evaluated (including trend analysis and KPI tracking).

Additional Information:
Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Transport for All is looking for a Head of Research and Training to lead and grow our work on Justice in Practice: where disabled people’s lived experience is meaningfully embedded, appropriately compensated, and responded to in the transport sector and beyond. We have a bold plan for the next five years, and need someone who can support the team to deliver in line with our values.
As a member of the leadership team, you’ll secure funding for and lead delivery of our own research projects, and research projects with the transport industry, academia, charities and other organisations. You’ll lead a unique, disabled-led research and training team who are dedicated to removing barriers to transport for disabled people. This isn’t about gathering yet more evidence – it’s about responding to the lived experience of our diverse community and using research and training to drive change.
Recent projects including collaborating with Sustrans on the Disabled Citizens Inquiry into Walking and Wheeling, facilitating product testing by disabled people of an external organisation’s app for planning barrier-free walking, wheeling and cycling routes, and grant-funded research into removing barriers to accessing transport concessionary schemes. You’ll also lead and develop our Disability Equality Training offering – disabled-led training sessions for transport practitioners that lead to a culture change in the sector.

This role will be varied and responsive to the needs of the customers that Look Ahead supports across our Learning Disability and Autism services and will likely include:
- Conducting initial needs assessments from referrals
- Developing individual PBS plans and support proposals sensitive to customers cognitive, social, emotional and sensory needs
- Facilitating support planning for individuals in receipt of Tier 2 or 3 of our PBS Framework
- Performing Functional Assessments for PBS planning
- Conducting training sessions for individuals and teams
- Providing coaching and guidance to service teams to develop practice
- Observe practice, collate and record data, provide feedback
- Designing and implement training programs:
In-house RBT training and supervision with a view to developing capability of those selected for RBT to deliver regional specific assessments.
Autism, learning disability and communication - Provide clinical supervision to PBS Coaches and support their development to apply PBS strategies and interventions
- Attend management meetings and write reports

We have a highly skilled team of 30 full-time employees in Malawi implementing this work, based out of two offices in the Northern Region. Our UK office in Bristol comprises a small fundraising and operations team of seven staff (two team members are full-time, all other team members are part-time), 3-5 regular volunteers and interns, and a wider family of volunteers and supporters.
Temwa UK has an experienced and high functioning board of Trustees who are very engaged. The board member who oversees the fundraising portfolio is very active, providing support to the Fundraising & Development Manager and the fundraising team as a whole.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
1. Managing the fundraising strategy and donor relations with oversight of the fundraising office
- Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate the charity’s income generation strategy, ensuring targets are achieved.
- Align the fundraising strategy with the communications and marketing strategy.
- Act as the organizational expert on income generation, leading the team to expand all relevant fundraising streams.
- Maintain and enhance current income streams, including trust fundraising, corporate fundraising, high value donors, and individual giving.
- Maintain relationships with key donors and their specific requirements.
- Collaborate with the Programme Advisor and Programmes Director in Malawi to align community needs with donor priorities.
- Lead, research & review the opportunities to apply for institutional funding with the Programme Advisor.

2. Providing leadership to and managing the fundraising team
- Develop, coach, inspire, and motivate the team to achieve their objectives and grow their skills.
- Conduct regular one-to-ones with direct reports, ensuring effective performance management with timely appraisals.
- Ensure team members have clear work plans and objectives.
- Champion best practices in particular with use of the database, ensuring all legal and compliance standards are met and, where possible, exceeded in fundraising and marketing activities.
- Recruit key fundraising team members as needed.
- Support the fundraising team in designing and managing effective marketing and communications strategies.

3. Growing income streams
- Lead and manage all fundraising areas in the UK office, ensuring targets are met.

- Research and develop business cases for new income generation areas to drive sustainability.
- Implement and evaluate new income generation projects.

- Develop and implement a strategy to increase corporate fundraising through the Temwa Carbon Balance Programme.

Purpose:
To support ARC’s staff and stakeholders in their use of technology, to further ARC’s aim of conserving amphibians and reptiles and saving their disappearing habitats.
The IT Systems Coordinator will be responsible for the support and maintenance of ARC’s IT systems and infrastructure; for the support of ARC staff, volunteers and other stakeholders using the technology; for identifying potential improvements; and for the implementation of agreed changes. The IT Systems Coordinator will be aided in this by ARC’s third-party IT support provider.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Support local and remote staff using Windows 10/11 and MS 365 Apps for Business.
- Support of ARC’s fundraising and volunteer database systems (in tandem with ARC’s database suppliers).
- Maintain and administer core apps and infrastructure (e.g. Entra/AD; LAN; VoIP; file/print; mobile phones; AV equipment; MS 365 apps and email) alongside ARC’s third-party IT support provider.
