About the role:
With our long-serving CEO and leadership team stepping down in 2024/25, the executive function has been updated into a co-CEO model of a Creative Director and Joint CEO and an Executive Director and Joint CEO (new role) to provide joint development and leadership for the organisation and affiliated projects. Together they will be responsible for articulating and achieving the creative vision and business objectives, to maintain and grow a versatile and vibrant performing arts centre and cultural community hub. About you:

Our team has grown significantly in recent years. We’ve directly supported over 600 individuals since our pilot launch in May 2021. Additionally, we’ve reached over 20,000 people through online and outreach activities. We’re embarking on a new two-year strategy aimed at becoming a Centre for Excellence in gambling harm recovery. We deliver transformational programmes with measurable impacts and influence stakeholders to increase support for those in recovery.
We currently have a strong financial position, but funding methods are set to change significantly. In 2025, the Government will introduce a statutory levy on gambling operators. Funds will be distributed to commissioners for research, prevention, and treatment grants. This process is still developing, so our path remains uncertain. However, we are optimistic and see growth potential as feedback on our work has been positive.
Who we are looking for
During a period of transformation, we need an experienced leader adept at developing relationships with commissioners. This could stem from the gambling harm sector or other relevant fields like addiction, homelessness, domestic abuse, or mental health.
Our Chief Executive must lead change effectively through ambiguity. Over 70% of our staff and volunteers have a lived connection to gambling harm, so it is vital that you can lead with empathy, kindness, and compassion, particularly during this time of transition.

About Strength & Stem
Strength & Stem is a charity and social enterprise that uses floristry to help female modern slavery survivors experience restoration and empowerment.
Our core programme, “Flowers for the Future”, is led by a small staff team and runs annually from May to January in Kings Cross London. Over nine months, participants complete vocational floristry training, prevocational and wellbeing skills training, mentorship, and work experience to increase their agency, strengthen relationships and wellbeing, and become prepared for employment. Working with flowers, participants gain valuable skills, build a brighter future, and engage with a therapeutic tool to support their healing from trauma.

BACKGROUND
Theatre director Michael Grandage CBE established MGCfutures as a charity in 2013 with the royalties from his first independent West End season.
Having transitioned mid-career from actor to director Michael is acutely aware of the obstacles and hardships that can prevent creative artists and technicians from achieving their true potential.
Since 2016 the charity’s primary focus has been its innovative bursary programme supporting career development across the theatre industry – from writers, directors and producers to costume designers, theatrical milliners and stage carpenters.
MGCfutures provides vital bridging support for theatre makers who reach a crucial stage in their chosen career.
The current Director, Andrew Broadley, is stepping down to pursue personal projects after seven years in the role. During his time with the charity there have been a total of 141 bursary awards amounting to more than £500,000.
As the programme continues to grow so does the charity’s need for funds.
The new Chair, Lady Lowy Mitchell (appointed in 2023) is committed to increasing the charity’s income and has considerable experience of fundraising and development. She intends to work closely with the incoming Director to achieve a minimum of £150,000 raised year on year.

Join Gloucestershire Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre to make a real difference to survivors/victims of sexual violence and abuse, to lead our organisation to ensure we continue to deliver high quality specialist services and work towards ending sexual violence.
You will be passionate about ending violence against women and girls from all communities with significant experience working within a sexual violence or trauma focused service. You will be an inspiring leader, driven by your feminist values to ensure the voice of survivors are central to everything we do. You will be skilled and experienced in setting an organisational culture that is values-led, resilient, and people-centred. You will have a proven track record in income generation and sound financial management skills.
As CEO you will work collaboratively with the Board of Trustees to deliver the strategic vision ensuring the financial security and sustainability of the organisation. You will lead delivery and development to demonstrate the impact of our services. Working with internal and external partners and stakeholders you will embed learning and best practice to ensure services are the best they can, collectively ensuring a robust and resilient organisation.

GRASAC is a registered charity that supports anyone who has experienced or who is experiencing rape and/or sexual violence. We provide emotional and practical support to survivors of rape, sexual violence and childhood sexual abuse, including advocacy and support groups. We are proud to support people of all genders and recognise in particular the impact sexual violence has on women and girls.

The club is a high impact, longstanding community-based youth organisation based in West London, currently operating out of seven sites.
Whilst offering traditional youth work activities, we are increasingly focused on educational opportunity and addressing violence and gang culture. We work with young people who are on the periphery of gangs and criminality, who are at high risk of being groomed and exploited. We also support children who struggle to stay in the classroom to continue in their education. We allow young people to make mistakes, learn and move forward.
The club has implemented a recent operational review, investing in people, programmes, governance and operating structures, that have enhanced our capacity to deliver effectively.
We are establishing a track record of delivering complex, innovative and difficult programmes, to young people, who are often underserved and misunderstood. We believe in second chances.
Chief Executive Officer

Hybrid (4 days per week in West London office)
As the CEO, you will be responsible for helping to deliver life-changing services and activities to support more than 300 young people each year. You will need to work closely with a highly regarded existing senior leadership team, who have been responsible for developing and delivering our programming and come with a deep knowledge of our community. You will play a pivotal role in the overall leadership and management of the organisation, and will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of the club. Your focus will encompass key areas including: Strategy, HR and Personnel Management, Policy and Governance Implementation, Key Stakeholder Management, Board Communication, Leadership Team Management, and Operations. We also developing further fund-raising strategies, as we approach our 150th anniversary, to enhance our current programming and facilities.
We are seeking candidates with the following:
- Previous experience leading a similar organisation
- Experience overseeing and embedding the operational functions of a similar sized organisation, to ensure robust delivery and regulatory compliance.
- Strong HR experience and expertise
- Strong communication skills
- Capacity to support our fund-raising team.
Experience working with young people, and/or in a frontline service delivery organisation, working with stakeholders including local authorities, social services, and other agencies, is desirable, but not essential.

Salary: £60,000–£70,000 (depending on experience)

About the Role
As Chief Executive Officer, you will provide strategic leadership, steer organisational growth, and ensure the charity continues delivering its impactful services. Working with trustees, staff, and service users, you will manage operations, expand partnerships, and develop innovative services.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Delivering organisational strategy, operational plans, and performance targets.
- Leading fundraising efforts, diversifying income streams, and overseeing financial planning.
- Strengthening external relationships, representing the charity at forums, and influencing policy.
- Overseeing high-quality service delivery while driving innovation to meet evolving needs.
- Managing and inspiring a team of 53 dedicated staff members and volunteers.
About You
We are looking for an experienced leader with a passion for driving social change. You will bring strategic thinking, operational expertise, and a commitment to inclusivity.
Some of the key essential skills and experience include:
- Proven success in leading and developing teams and organisations.
- Strategic and operational planning expertise, including financial management.
- Strong experience in external representation and partnership building.
- A background in securing income and managing stakeholder relationships.
- It would be desirable to possess an understanding of the impacts of sexual violence on men, boys and non-binary people, the barriers to support, and the impact of sexual violence on the wider community.

As Chief Executive Officer you will drive the organisation’s vision and ongoing strategic work in partnership with the Board of Trustees, to ensure the long-term sustainability and success of the organisation. This includes leading the successful operational management and delivery of both the Children’s’ Project Team, Youth Project Team and community engagement. You will have proven substantial leadership experience ideally managing a team within a similar setting Additionally, you will have experience of OSFTED or similar regulatory body regulations, ensuring all staff consistently understand and comply with these obligations. We would also expect a proven track record in securing funding in a difficult financial climate and initiative to diversify and adapt to ensure financial stability. We are looking for a highly self-motivated individual who has an understanding of working in the charity sector, child protection and safeguarding and relevant legislation and committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.
