Responsibilities of our Senior Individual Giving Officer (Acquisition):
- This role is crucial in delivering the charity’s Individual Giving programme, working across multiple communication channels to grow sustainable income for Cats Protection by recruiting new supporters across a range of products.
- This includes everything from making TV ads, working with Face-to-Face fundraisers, running our digital campaigns and much more– all of which feature cats at the heart, of course. You will need to work with both internal departments and external agencies to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
About the Individual Giving Team:
- We sit within the Marketing & Income Generation directorate
- Our team is responsible for the recruitment and retention of individual supporters to generate over £22 million each year and provide leads for the other teams in the directorate
- We currently have a team of 13 working across Acquisition and Retention on our Appeals and Raffles, Membership, Sponsorship, Lottery and regular giving programs using Mail, Face to Face, DRTV, email, Digital, Social and other paid media
What we’re looking for in our Senior Individual Giving Officer (Acquisition):
- Extensive experience in an Individual Giving or similar role, ideally working with agencies in the third sector
- Experience in leading the organisation of projects/activities or schedules
- Experience in budget management, ideally with multiple income and expenditure items
- Proven track record of achieving income against agreed financial targets, and measuring against KPIs
- Experience of at least some broad-based fundraising, such as Direct Mail, DRTV, telephone, digital or face-to-face fundraising

Responsibilities of our Principal Surveyor:
- line manage a team of three Regional Surveyors, providing comprehensive guidance in estate and retail matters
- responsible for a portfolio of properties, including Cats Protection centres, retail premises, residential and miscellaneous legacy properties
- monitor and report on estate condition status and maintain compliance across an assigned geographical portfolio, supporting the Head of Estates and Construction in the delivery of estate management services across the organisation
- create and maintain performance and process documentation and reporting systems across the Cats Protection Estate, including reporting on SLA’s and KPI’s, ensuring consistent information across all regions
- respond to requests from the property helpdesk, including reactive and planned maintenance
- liaise with property sector agents and professionals as needed
About the Estates and Construction team:
- We ensure that Cats Protection is able to sustain its cat welfare operations and retail activities by providing Estate Management and Construction services delivering acquisition, repair, maintenance, re-development and disposal services for an estate portfolio of circa 196 properties including 34 Cat Centres, 79 Shops and other Cats Protection premises across the UK. Together with the Safety, Health and Environment Team and Facilities we ensure regulatory/legal compliance of properties.
- The Estates and Construction Team consists of approximately 17 personnel, including three Regional Surveyors
What we’re looking for in our Principal Surveyor:
- an experienced Surveyor (level 6 or higher) with significant post-qualification experience surveying in a property management or facilities management environment
- member of professional institution such as RICS, RIBA, CIBSE, CIOB
- experience managing a team of employees
- performance orientated, with an organized and methodical approach
- knowledge of retail acquisitions, disposals and leases
- multi-site property management experience
- experience managing minor project work including small building projects (up to £500k)
- understanding of estates compliance

Responsibilities of our Feline Welfare Associate Researcher:
- work on domestic cat welfare related projects both internally in Cats Protection and in collaboration with academics and other organisations to increase the knowledge and data on cat welfare within a practical shelter landscape
- daily tasks including supporting the completion of research papers, literature reviews, evidence synthesis and its critical evaluation as well as qualitative data analysis from ongoing projects
- substantial periods of cat based fieldwork including travel and stays away from home will also be required as part of the role
About the Feline Research team:
- the team work across a series of complex research workstreams which prioritise the development of non-invasive, biologically sound ways to support cat-wellbeing focused data gathering
- the post holder will be required to work closely and collaboratively with the rest of the team, in order to support on varied research tasks subject to the needs of each ongoing project
- the team consist of Feline Welfare Postdoctoral Researchers and a Feline Welfare Scientist as well as the wider research team
What we’re looking for in our Feline Welfare Associate Researcher:
- previously undertaken non-invasive animal behaviour and welfare focused studies including literature searches, project design, data collection and analysis, manuscript writing
- applied animal welfare and husbandry experience e.g. in shelter/zoo/animal charity/veterinary/community context
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
- self-motivation and the ability to effectively problem solve and work on own initiative
- post-graduate degree in animal behaviour, animal welfare, veterinary medicine, psychology, biological science or related subject
- valid UK driving licence

We're seeking dedicated Night Veterinary Nurses to join our team at London Victoria Animal Hospital. Working 7 consecutive nights followed by 14 nights off; by joining our team, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our hospital provides a 24/7 service, catering to the needs of our furry friends around the clock.
More about the role
Our Victoria animal hospital provides care to thousands of animals annually. From routine procedures to intricate surgeries, we offer a wide range of treatments to ensure the well-being of every patient. We are a first opinion practice providing essential emergency and first aid treatment to eligible pet owners. This means our business as usual is highly critical cases and surgical procedures, emergency triage over the phone and face to face, and inpatient care to a high nursing standard.
We have well equipped veterinary facilities, the hospital spans six floors, with six consultation rooms, two theatres, four minor procedure rooms and a laboratory.
While our primary focus is on dogs and cats, our compassionate team is equipped to care for a variety of pets. You'll be helping to deliver excellent veterinary care for a wide range of small animals, providing both routine healthcare and attending a large number of emergencies, which provides our team excellent opportunities to develop their skills.
With this 7 on, 14 off rota, you'll have a unique work pattern that offers an excellent balance between work and personal time. Please note that holidays will need to be taken within the 14 nights off. By joining our team, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our hospital provides a 24/7 service, catering to the needs of our furry friends around the clock.
Due to the nature of the work of Blue Cross, and this post, it may be necessary to exceed these hours when the workload demands.
About you
You will be a fully qualified Veterinary Nurse registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS). Excellent communication skills are a must-have in this role. You'll be interacting with pet owners, veterinary colleagues, and other members of our team on a daily basis. Strong customer service skills are also essential for ensuring a positive experience for our clients.
Veterinary care can be unpredictable, so it's important to be adaptable and able to handle whatever comes your way. We're looking for candidates who are reliable and can be counted on to deliver consistently high-quality care, regardless of the circumstances.
While you'll need to be able to work independently, you'll also be part of a dedicated team of veterinary professionals. Collaboration and teamwork are key to ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic and the well-being of our patients.

Knowledge, skills, and experience
