Sussex Emmaus is a charity dedicated to supporting individuals who have experienced social exclusion or homelessness. We provide accommodation for up to 58 people, offering a home, tailored support, and the opportunity to gain skills and work opportunities through social enterprises run by the charity.
We are now recruiting a Catering Assistant Supervisor to assist the Catering Manager in the efficient and effective running of the Cafe@Emmaus and Community Kitchen. You will be joining a friendly and enthusiastic team who are passionate about what they do.
This is a hands-on role where your ability to lead by example will motivate our team of resident Companions and volunteers to provide exemplary customer service and ensure Food Safety Practices are adhered to. You will be responsible for leading, supervising, and working alongside Companions assigned to the Café and Community Kitchen during operating hours. Any conduct-related matters will be addressed by the Business Manager.

Duties & responsibilities
People
- To work alongside and train Companions to increase their skill base and confidence

This role is an integral part of an ambitious programme to empower and train up the country’s school kitchen workforce through our School Chef Educator Programme, a hybrid course set over 10 weeks, including in-person sessions, webinars and self-guided e-learning on our learning platform. The Role
The Clubhouse Social Café Manager will lead on the implementation of the of café (Due to open in October 2024) and will manage the Food and Beverage Operations in line with food, and health and safety regulations. You will be involved in the initial set-up of the facility.
You will be responsible for managing the day to day running of the café, providing a diverse of community and health wellbeing projects in collaboration with Trust Senior Manager - Health and Wellbeing. They will also manage and mentor staff and trainees to deliver an effective and inclusive service to customers.
About You
We are looking for a passionate, inspiring catering/hospitality specialist to lead on training, mentoring and the hospitality operation of our new Clubhouse Café at Gunnersbury Park. The café is part of the new Community Sports hub at the site and will also double as a social and community space linking into community projects for all ages. Projects will include mental and physical health with the space acting as a central meeting/training hub. In this capacity you will work closely with the Trust's Health and Wellbeing Senior Manager.
We are partnering with the homeless charity Change Please to create a West London training hub. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and training the café team. Our founder partners in the project are The University of West London (UWL) and the Premier League and Professional Footballers Association Fund. We are linking with the University to offer a range of immersive opportunities for their catering and business students and our Café Manager will link with them on a number of working projects.
The other aspect is the promotion and training in the importance of food, health and performance and the Manager will work with our Trust team to create innovative content and inspiring outreach programmes. Whilst we expect the Manager to have an active interest in food and nutrition, we plan to put some catering support and training in place to support the position.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who has appropriate experience to lead the food and beverage side of the operation. They will be involved in the initial set-up of the facility (Due to open in Summer 2025) and the establishment of appropriate operation and health and safety procedures.
We have developed a sustainable business plan, however you will have the opportunity of contributing to the ongoing development plan. Key Responsibilities
- Lead on the implementation of the café, including the setup, adherence to food and health safety and regulations, and staffing.

Thames Chase Community Forest was established in 1990 and covers an area of 98 square miles on the edge of east London and south-west Essex. Thames Chase Trust welcomes around 65,000 visitors per year to the Forest Centre complex. The architecturally acclaimed Visitor Centre is the information hub for the entire Community Forest and includes a cafe, shop, and public toilets. The café is located in our award winning visitor centre, situated is an ancient landscape alive with nature, history and folklore. Today it is a magical destination visited by people from across the globe, home to the enduring legend of Robin Hood and the famous Major Oak, estimated to be more than 1,000 years old.
We care for over 450 hectares of ancient wood pasture and rolling heathland which is home to thousands of species of bird, insect, mammal, fungi, tree and plant. Wooded for centuries and once part of a vast royal hunting ground, for the 350,000 people who come to visit each year it is an incredible place to visit!
What's the role about?
Supporting the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager in the delivery of an exemplar customer experience, maximising income streams and effectively managing costs to deliver optimal net contribution, whilst ensuring a high level of legislative compliance.

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Café Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of The Shack Café, a busy student-facing outlet at KCLSU. The postholder will lead a team of student shift leaders and staff, ensuring smooth daily operations, high standards of cleanliness, and exceptional customer service. Key duties include managing financial processes such as accurate till operation, invoice processing, and stock control. You will strive to minimise wastage and losses through regular audits and clear procedures, maintaining accurate records of all transactions and stock movements.
You will also lead on staffing—recruiting, training, and supervising your team of around 12 student staff members. Responsibilities include creating rotas, processing payroll, and managing performance through regular feedback and support, while fostering a positive and productive team culture.
The Café Supervisor will work closely with the Commercial Manager – Strand to develop exciting product offerings and promotions. With support from the marketing team, you'll ensure effective merchandising and campaigns that increase sales and engage the student community. Strong relationships with students, colleagues, and suppliers are vital.
You will also manage catering bookings and ensure services meet high standards, from enquiry to delivery. Compliance with food hygiene, health and safety, and equipment maintenance is essential. Issues must be reported promptly, maintain a safe environment, and ensure all staff follow uniform and cleaning protocols.

About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Events and Stewardship Manager, to manage the planning, delivery and evaluation of high impact events and stewardship initiatives that engage and inspire prospects, donors and our partners:

Events: Taking a proactive approach to project management, this role will have responsibility for delivering a range of events across our global event portfolio. These events underpin Mission 44’s fundraising goals, especially for HNWI and corporate audiences.

Stewardship: As part of the fundraising team, the post-holder will deliver exceptional support and experiences for our current donors including production of impact-focused reports, personalised communications and moments that build community for Mission 44’s growing donor base.
It is expected the role will have a 60:40 split between events management and stewardship activities. This role is ideal for a skilled planner, exceptional collaborator, and a strong writer, capable of supporting the delivery of exceptional donor experiences, stewardship communications, progress reports and materials that showcase Mission 44’s impact. It is worth noting whilst Mission 44’s events portfolio is global, this role will have minimal international travel.

Special Events Management

Manage the end-to-end delivery of global events within Mission 44’s portfolio, including donor and prospect dinners, trackside activations and flagship fundraising galas.

Lead on core event logistics plans, including venue searches, supplier contracting, building of accurate run of shows and production schedules for multi-day events.

This means our business as usual is highly critical cases and surgical procedures, emergency triage over the phone and face to face, and inpatient care to a high nursing standard.
We have well equipped veterinary facilities, the hospital spans six floors, with six consultation rooms, two theatres, four minor procedure rooms and a laboratory.
While our primary focus is on dogs and cats, our compassionate team is equipped to care for a variety of pets. You'll be helping to deliver excellent veterinary care for a wide range of small animals, providing both routine healthcare and attending a large number of emergencies, which provides our team excellent opportunities to develop their skills.
With this 7 on, 14 off rota, you'll have a unique work pattern that offers an excellent balance between work and personal time. The Role
Deliver end to end planning and event day activities for both virtual and face to face events within the high-value (10k-1m) events portfolio.
