Job Description
Job Title
· Deputy Centre Manager (The Junction Youth Centre, High Wycombe)
Position in the Organisation
· Reports To: Centre Manager
· Responsible For: Youth Workers and freelance staff
· Working hours: The centre is open 7 days a week 4-9pm. Working hours are 1:45-9pm on a two-week rotation (4 days one week and 6 the following). This post includes regular weekend work.
· Working With: Other members of the Action4Youth team including the High Wycombe Mentor, other programme staff, schools, key partners including other local youth organisations, Buckinghamshire Council, Thames Valley Police and many more.
Main Purpose and Scope of the Role
This role will assist with the day-to-day management of the centre and lead a small team of staff, including Youth Workers and some freelancers. The Deputy Centre Manager will be working in partnership with the Centre Manager to ensure the safe running of the centre and to deliver youth work directly. This role will liaise closely with the Centre Manager in order to make sure youth provision is effective and inclusive for all young people.
This role will be based in a multi service drop-in centre in High Wycombe for young people aged 12 – 18 years (up to 25 with SEND). The service will offer a range of sessions and activities all under one roof, seven days a week, and provides specialist support to those who are vulnerable.
The centre provides support in the following areas;
1. Crisis support; a drop-in service operating seven days a week where young people can come in and access specialist support and signposting in the below areas from trained staff.
· Homelessness
· Sexual health/unplanned pregnancy/sexual identity
· Family breakdown
· Crime
· Violence
· Bullying
· Substance misuse
· Relationship breakdown
2. A programme of mentoring to support young people on a 1:1 basis.
3. Health and wellbeing; a timetable of weekly activities focussing on positive mental and physical wellbeing.
· Nutrition and cooking - A weekly ‘cook along’ session will be available for young people to participate in where they learn the basics of cooking healthy and cheap meals.
· A timetable of fitness sessions including boxing and MMA sessions.
· A fortnightly mental wellbeing session which will focus on topics such as positive body image, social media, mental resilience, stress management, positive relationships etc.
4. A Youth Space for socialising and leisure activities;
· Café area
· Pool table, table football, table tennis, gaming consoles
· Weekly homework/ study club providing a quiet space where young people can get support on any schoolwork
· Weekly SEND Youth Group- open to young people with additional needs only who can come to socialise and participate in sessions on life skills
Duties and Key Responsibilities
- Register young people on arrival at the centre
- Keep the centre clean and tidy and be responsible for opening/ locking up the centre
- Assist with the overall smooth running of the centre and all its activity strands
- Work closely with library staff, Eden security and other key partners
- Be the lead staff member, running the Youth Centre, when the Centre Manager is not on shift
- Attend Action4Youth team meetings (sometimes outside of working hours) and be a positive link between The Junction and the other Action4Youth sites
- Communicate effectively with all core staff, freelancers and partners to ensure the centre is running safely and effectively and always be a positive role model
- Assess the needs of young people to correctly plan and deliver sessions related to areas such as health, fitness, smoking, drugs, gangs, violence, relationships and bullying
- Set up and run regular group youth work sessions in line with the key areas listed above
- Develop a positive rapport with young people based on respect and trust, ensuring the youth centre is a safe and welcoming place
- Establish boundaries and challenge inappropriate behaviour
- Mentor, coach and support individual young people
- Work in partnership with families and other key people in the young person's life, as well as with professionals from other organisations such as social care, health, police, education, youth offending teams and local authorities, in order to build a strong support network
- Manage, support and mentor staff, including youth workers and placement students
- Undertake administrative tasks relating to the centre’s efficient running, maintain effective recording systems and respond to queries
- Provide reports for funders and to SMT- including attendee numbers, case studies and other KPI’s as per funding applications.
- Promote the services of The Junction and take the lead in organising recruitment events at local schools. These may be outside the regular working hours, and you will need to claim time back in lieu.
- Attend local networking meetings to represent Action4Youth and promote the services of The Junction
- Work collaboratively with local community organisations to offer the best services to young people
- Always Act as an Ambassador for Action4Youth.
General Responsibilities
· Support events and meetings when required.
- Support the continued development of quality standards as specified by Action4Youth.
- Support in other areas of the organisation as required by the CEO
· To have regard for the vision of Action4Youth and to display a commitment to equal opportunities and to the protection and safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
- Report any behaviour, conversations or comments which are inappropriate within a setting for children and young people.
· To carry out any other Action4Youth duties as required by your Line Manager, CEO or Directors.
· Administering own workload which includes meeting targets and deadlines in line with the Action4Youth Performance Management System.
· Attending relevant CPD training events in line with Performance Management appraisal.
· Undertaking responsibility, as part of the team, for all Health and Safety work related matters.
· Working within the guidelines of Action4Youth policies and procedures.
Skills, Experience and Knowledge
- Previous work experience in the youth, education or community sector
- Be able to lead, manage and support a small team
- Excellent communication skills, including being able to positively engage with young people from a wide range of backgrounds and actively involve them in the decision making process.
- Confident user of IT, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Experience of using a CRM system (desirable)
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable)
- Practical experience of designing and delivering presentations to a varied audience (desirable)
Qualifications
- A qualification and/or experience in youth work

Location: Based in Loughborough, England. The role requires travel to all locations where Baca Services are delivered.

Overall Purpose
- To provide support and care to young people who are newly arrived in the country, providing the foundations for them to rebuild their strength, dignity and grow their hope for their futures.
- To partner with social workers and representatives from other agencies, for the benefit of the young people.
Duties & Responsibilities
- To be a key worker for a number of young people who are in the care of Baca, providing high quality holistic and therapeutic support for their transition to adulthood.

Personal specification
Baca is looking for a Support Worker who can join the support team and provide support, care and be a role model for young people who are newly arrived refugees and victims of trafficking aged 16 to 18. They will be motivated and passionate about the work that Baca does and the young people in our care.
The successful applicant will have the ability to ensure the support we give to the young people is of the highest quality and goes beyond the statutory standards set. They will be very approachable, reliable and a strong team worker. Someone who is supportive, approachable, responsible, reliable, personable and willing to be flexible. They will be a great people person who can develop key external relationships. They will also be a very organised and proactive individual. The successful applicant will need access to transport as the role requires visiting the young people in their homes and attending different appointments/meetings across the midlands. The successful applicant will subscribe to and work in line with Baca’s vision and values.
The role will require the successful candidate to complete an enhanced DBS check.

Visitor Centre
• Meet and greet visitors in a pleasant and welcoming manner • Provide informative guided tours of the working farm utilising volunteers where possible

We are looking for three Complex Needs Practitioners (Recovery Worker) to join our team in Aylesbury.
The purpose of the role is to engage people in a variety of interventions, using a person centred approach, empowering them to reduce risk, increase resilience and achieve positive outcomes.
All Complex Needs Practitioners (Recovery Worker) work flexibly across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings. The caseload will include a mixture of community and multi-agency referral pathways including health and social care. You will join our caring multi-disciplinary teams, to help empower you to provide quality psychosocial interventions to our diverse client groups.
A core part of the role will be working with people to address holistic support needs across all aspects of the person’s substance use and wellbeing. This could include diverse work related to physical and emotional health, meaningful use of time, family and relationships, community engagement and activites, accommodation, physical and emotional health, offending as well as substance use (drug use and / or alcohol use).
An energetic and confident self-starter, you have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies). Alternatively, we’ll consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse field with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care. Experience of liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals and engaging effectively with clients in a variety of settings is essential. You’ll also need a flexible approach, excellent record keeping and report writing skills and a willingness to work flexibly across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings, on an outreach basis, with a central hub base at our head office.
This is a permanent full-time role requiring the post holder to work 37 hours per week.

This role is part of the Wiltshire Project which provides individual and family support to domestic abuse for victims and their children.
Working with children and young people, the team will focus on delivering timely and high quality, trauma informed support to children who have been the victims of domestic abuse.
This is a fixed term position to November 2025.
This exciting post will be working with children who have experienced or been affected by domestic abuse. Focusing on standard and medium risk cases, this role will provide practical and emotional support to children and young people, with an emphasis on early intervention and awareness raising.
In addition, there will be the opportunity to work with the team and manager to develop and deliver new group work provision for young people.
Key tasks and responsibilities include:
· To provide high quality, specialist support to children who have lived in a domestically abusive family.
· Enabling young people to access statutory and other services where appropriate.
· Managing a caseload and working proactively to support young people and their families.
· To deliver educational, time-bound, 1 to 1 support sessions for children and young people.
· Provide specialist support to child victims, with a focus on empowering young people to make informed decisions.

- Manage a caseload of low to high risk children and young people, predominantly through face to face appointments but also utilising virtual technologies.

JOB PURPOSE
To inspire people with mental health conditions to progress, and to gain and sustain paid employment. Some Employment Specialists will support clients with common (mild to moderate) mental health conditions (e.g. anxiety, depression), whilst others will support clients with more severe and enduring mental illness (e.g. schizophrenia, bipolar, personality disorders).
Depending on what clients are right for you to work with, you will either work across the local NHS primary or secondary care network alongside NHS clinicians to secure client referrals.
To work with clients with more serious mental illness, you will need to be comfortable supporting people who have experienced / are experiencing serious mental health challenges, as well as possibly other serious difficulties in their lives. Although you will receive full training and support, it’s important you are aware of the potential impact this may have on your own mental wellbeing.
All Employment Specialists will follow the 8 principles of IPS, adhere to the IPS Fidelity Scale and achieve monthly targets and KPIs with the required administration and compliance.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Engage a caseload of clients with mental health problems and establish trusting, collaborative relationships to support them into employment in line with contract targets and IPS fidelity.
2. Assess clients’ employment support needs; implementing and adjusting employment plans as necessary to support each client’s desired outcomes along IPS requirements.
3. Develop and deliver a range of practical services to meet clients’ needs including career guidance, job searching, CV preparation, interview skills, individual coping techniques or work coaching.

SCHOOLS BASED ACROSS GREATER MANCHESTER
We require a Counsellor to provide counselling interventions and family support services in schools across the Diocese of Salford according to each school’s formal agreement.
The role requires you to liaise and work with parents and families to ensure that the child/young person’s needs are being met and any issues that arise are being addressed appropriately. This will also include providing support and guidance to school staff on these matters.
You must have knowledge of safeguarding guidelines and risk factors in relation to working with children and young people and be able to respond accordingly by following the locality safeguarding procedures and ensure that priority is given to the Safeguarding Policy and Procedures in all work undertaken. You must also support the school staff with safeguarding.
You must have competent IT skills, be confident with systems, complete reports, maintain records and manage confidential data and be able to review and obtain feedback on the support in place for the children and young people and provide this information back to the schools and Caritas Schools’ Service as required.
You must also be able to make autonomous clinical decisions about own professional practice and approaches and partake in supervision one to one, clinical and group reflective supervision with other counsellors.
Registered counsellor status with the BACP or UKCP is essential. However, we will discuss experience and qualifications on a person-by-person basis if you are selected for an interview. The salary includes accrued annual leave.
