Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. In 2024 we embarked on our new 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it. 

It is an exciting and important time to be joining us at Crisis. We work with thousands of people across England, Scotland, and Wales so they can leave homelessness behind for good. We have recently adapted the way our services work to maximise our impact in ending homelessness. We have increased our capacity to work with people one to one and strengthened our ability to support those people facing the most barriers to preventing or ending their homelessness. 

Location: Crisis Skylight Birmingham, 303 Rhubarb Building, 25 Heath Mill Lane, Digbeth, B9 4AE.

You will be able to work from home one day per week in line with Crisis’ Hybrid Working Policy. You will be expected to travel around Birmingham and wider West Midlands on a regular basis to meet with partners and stakeholders. National travel i.e., to London Head Office or other Skylights will take place on average once every six weeks.

The Director of Crisis Skylight Birmingham will be responsible for leading and developing strategic partnerships across Birmingham and the West Midlands region. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and lead the service into our new 10-year strategy, influencing key local and national political, community and business leaders, partners, and providers to drive forward our strategic priorities all with the aim of ending homelessness. You will play a key role as a decision marker on the Client Services Senior Leadership Team, along with your counterparts from across the different regions of the UK.

You will have experience of building relationships with senior leaders to develop strategic partnerships with the aim of achieving strategic objectives including but not exclusively, in areas of change management, strategic development of services,.& leading collaborative partnerships that directly contribute to achieving performance targets  You will have the motivation, commitment, and vision, able to influence a range of audiences and able to articulate a compelling case for change to key decision makers across the West Midlands .  You will be a leader in your field, with experience of operational delivery, ensuring high quality and safe services to vulnerable adults, with the ability to provide clear leadership to your team.

Summary of the role:

As the Trust and Foundation Coordinator, you will support the International Programmes Department (IPD) by:

• Programme Development: Enhancing institutional funding to raise essential funds for Muslim Aid’s international humanitarian and development programmes through Trusts, Foundations, and Partner Offices.
• Quality Assurance: Assisting the MEAL Manager in developing and implementing effective MEAL systems to ensure quality service delivery across all programmes.

You will play a crucial role in this newly formed unit, working closely with partners, country offices, and donors to improve systems within the IPD and support the dynamic global programme portfolio of Muslim Aid.

About the Role:

1.  Lead donor mapping process for Trusts and Foundations. Continuously, update this mapping document regularly based on engagement with prospective donors.
2. Lead the proposal/concept development process for T&F and MA Partner offices submissions.
3. Support the Global Programme Development and Quality Assurance Manager in managing a portfolio of institutional donor grants relationships and implement donor engagement strategies for prioritised donors (including FCDO, UN agencies, USAID, SIDA, START Network, etc.).
4. Support the Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Manager to strengthen MEAL system globally. This includes ensuring high-quality data tracking progress, analysing data, and generating knowledge and documentation of best practices.
5. Work with Country Offices, Global Programme Development and Quality Assurance, Humanitarian and Programme units to support on disaster responses and associated appeals.
6. Support the unit in providing the development and implementing capacity development workshops for the IPD team, country offices, and partner offices either face to face or virtually.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. Educated to bachelor’s degree level.
2. Experience of successfully fundraising and dealing with institutional donors and international donors with a focus on Trusts and Foundations.
3. Experience and understanding of monitoring and evaluation of programmes; using quantitative and qualitative research data collected in support of programme development.
4. Significant experience and knowledge of effective budgetary control and grant management.
5. Good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with people at various levels. Good tact and diplomacy at all times.
6. Strong and well-developed analytical skills coupled with strong bid and report writing skills.

Using your wealth of experience, excellent financial analysis and management expertise, you be responsible for the timely delivery of management and financial accounts together with the identification and mitigation of risk. You will be both hands-on and will oversee the finance department.

Job Purpose

Support the Fundraising Manager in the successful delivery of fundraising activities in line with Bipolar Scotland’s ambitious strategy and business plan.

Summary

The Fundraising Officer will play an integral part in the success of our small but vibrant national charity by maximising income from Corporate and Community based stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced interim Advice Service Manager to join our client's team. We are seeking to improve the support this role provides to the service we deliver to local residents. Establishing a sustainable structure will enable us to meet increasing demand in a more efficient manner to the people who need our help the most. This is an interim post for 6 months with scope to becoming permanent.

• A new permanent Head of Advice is being recruited to join the organisation and we will want them to focus on understanding and developing the advice service and contributing to a management review of advice in their first few months. We will therefore need an experienced ASM to ensure capacity for day to day planning of supervision and service is in place.
• We have already identified that the Head of Advice role is too large for one person without additional advice management being in place.
• We are growing our volunteer team as we need to build a volunteer team for the relatively new contract to deliver services into the Slough area. This requires focussed effort to ensure supervision support is in place to both manage the existing volunteer advisers and coach and grow new volunteers. Additional supervision capacity is being sought to assist this.
• This role will primarily be office based but there are opportunities for some hybrid working each week.

The charity was founded in 2014 in memory of Breck Bednar, a 14-year-old boy who was groomed and murdered by someone he met online. We inform, educate and campaign to help young people and the wider UK public reclaim the internet from those who seek to harm others through it. Our educational programmes reach thousands of students, parents and safeguarding professionals each year.

The Project

Over the last few years, the Breck Foundation worked closely with Volunteer Police Cadet Units in Surrey and Tower Hamlets to train cadets as ‘Breck Ambassadors’, equipping them with the training needed to talk in schools to their peers about staying safe online and the key signs of grooming.

We are proud to take this successful project further having secured funding with the Office of Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner (OSPCC) to recruit and train up to 30 ‘Youth Ambassadors’ (for online safety) in schools across Sussex. The Youth Ambassadors will learn how to tell Breck’s story and empower young people with the tools they need to stay safe online. Working closely with schools to enable the students to become Online Safety Ambassadors for their school community, advocate for their peers and to be a voice of expertise and counsel. You will work with schools and community groups to generate impact through Breck’s story (on online grooming) and other important topics related to children’s online safety.

This flagship project for the OSPCC will launch in April 2025 (Coordinator starts in January 2025) and run for at least 12 months, with potential funding up to three years. We hope it will set a precedent for others to follow our lead and develop similar programmes for young people across the UK.

We are seeking 2 Specialist ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Advisor) to join our Advocacy team at Respond. The role includes providing pro-active emotional, practical and advocacy support for adults with learning disabilities and autistic people with complex or multiple needs who have experienced any form of sexual violence and are engaging, (or considering engaging) with the criminal justice system. The ISVA will work across London to provide non-judgmental, trauma-informed emotional support, working in partnership with other London sexual violence support services. 

Our ideal candidate will have a friendly and relational approach to working with clients.  You will have the ability to build trusting relationships, work in an empowering and inclusive way and support clients to heal following sexual abuse and develop coping capacity. You will be a self-motivated individual who will engage with a wider range of people who have experience sexual violence, and other barriers to justice.

We have a job vacancy for a Dementia Specialist to join Shine as the Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) / Dementia Coordinator. 

Shine has a membership of over 14,000 members living with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus and associated conditions and over 6,500 associated members.

In the last year we have seen a 25% increase in members who are living with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. There are currently just over 600 members with NPH, plus their carers registered, but we are expecting this to continue to rise as awareness and diagnosis of the condition grows. 

We are looking for an experienced, skilled, organised and dedicated new staff member to join Shine’s Services team to develop and lead our new NPH service.

About the Role

This role is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of philanthropy here at Brain Tumour Research as we look to grow our income from Trusts and Corporates. As a Trust and Corporate Prospect Researcher, you will play an important part in building the Trusts and Corporates pipeline at Brain Tumour Research and securing funding for our vision of finding a cure for all brain tumours. The Prospect Researcher will work closely with the Corporate and Trusts and Foundations manager in the Fundraising and Supporter Care Team to build, replenish and monitor a pipeline of prospects.

About You

We are looking for a research driven and conscientious individual who can develop a strong fundraising pipeline that will ensure the team can reach their long-term targets. You’ll provide insights into new areas of prospecting to continually replenish the pipeline with high-capacity prospects in order to meet current and future income targets. Your natural curiosity will lead you to identify new opportunities using a variety of online sources in combination with our existing database (Thank Q), and you will be able to articulate your recommendations to fundraisers in a concise and compelling way. 

Do you have:

• Knowledge and commitment to our aims, mission and values.
• Strong IT skills, competent in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
• Experience of creating and/or managing systems to support prospect pipeline management.
