ABOUT THIS ROLE 
More in Common is seeking a full-time Events and Operations Associate. More in Common UK is a small team with a start-up culture where everyone is expected to execute a range of responsibilities. The Events and Operations Associate will primarily facilitate our annual programme of Party Conference events and build out our event offering year round. The role will involve working closely with the UK Team on project management and supporting More in Common’s communications and dissemination work. There will also be opportunities to contribute to research and client work, and to personalise the role. The successful candidate will report to our UK Associate Director for Strategy and Development.

Events and dissemination

• Designing, organising and promoting a regular programme of in-person panel events and online webinars to share More in Common’s insights. 

• Coordinating the planning and preparation of More in Common’s programme of Party Conference events - including logistics, invitations and publicity. 

• Identifying potential sponsors and partners for More in Common’s events and in particular the Party Conference Programme 

• Designing and delivering workshops for More in Common’s partners and clients 

• Drafting and developing data briefings and press releases for journalists, conducting data checks, and designing and publishing reports on our website

• Drafting op-eds, Twitter threads, blogs and newsletters using More in Common’s insights

• Designing webinars and short insights products to disseminate our latest insights and research to partners and the wider ecosystem 

Operations, finance and additional responsibilities

• Day-to-day support and project management on a range of our client and partner projects

• Supporting the Associate Director and working with our finance team on our financial management 

• Managing external research vendors relationship including scheduling focus groups 

• Identifying new partners, clients and opportunities across various sectors for events and workshops

• Draft weekly newsletter 

• Keep More in Common’s CRM up-to-date with clients, partners and stakeholders details

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Project management and financial project management experience

• Professional background in an opinion research, public affairs, policy or strategy consultancy, or civil society would be desirable

This is an excitign opportunity to lead our Youth Work programme and Day Centre provision at NHYC. This position is a six-month fixed-term contract to cover a staff member going on sabbatical. Bond is the UK network for organisations working in international development. Main purpose of the job

This role will support Bond’s portfolio of convening events. This role is to support Bond’s events function with the overall running of Bond and Bond working group events and to provide administrative and logistical support in the lead up to, during and after events.

We convene a diverse range of audience that goes beyond the Bond membership, so that Bond members and non-members can connect, share knowledge and maximise influence. Bond’s convening power and large reach mean that we can convene diverse audiences on several topics. The events function works across teams to support and lead on the delivery of different types of convening. This covers learning events, practical events and information sharing events, with differing audience sizes, and some events are for Bond members only and others are open to all. Delegates can include senior decision-makers in governance, fundraising, finance, human resources, procurement, programmes, effectiveness, monitoring, evaluation, policy, advocacy, campaigning, communications and marketing.

Main responsibilities

• Creating events in salesforce and uploading them to Bond’s website according to the organisations style guidelines
• To support all digital content of uploading and editing sessions and speakers on the Bond website
• To coordinate logistics for in-person, virtual, or hybrid events. This will include visiting venues in person as and when required and supporting with in person, virtual and hybrid events.
• To manage the events inbox and ensure all delegate and participant queries are responded to in a timely and efficient manner
• Build and maintain key relationships with internal and external partners
• Work with Events Adviser to support events delivery 
• To manage all event-related tasks, including drafting event materials and communications (such as invitations and post-event emails), compiling post-event reports, collecting attendee feedback, tracking metrics, and updating the CRM (Salesforce) with attendance data. Additional responsibilities include managing registrations, gathering dietary and accessibility requirements, creating name badges, and ensuring presentations are correctly formatted.
• Ensure Bond’s events are accessible and inclusive
• To support the work for Bond events by liaising with suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders .

Person specification

Knowledge 

• Good working knowledge of using MS Office to a competent level, especially MS Word, Excel, SharePoint, Salesforce and Outlook. 

Experience 

• Experience of working in an events environment or supporting events for 100+ attendees.
• Experience of working in a customer-facing role, including handling queries, administration and troubleshooting as required.

We are looking for an experienced Practitioner to join our dynamic, ambitious team, to deliver face to face work across Essex, based in our Chelmsford Office.

Please note that this role involves working across the whole county so the successful candidate will need to commit to regular travel.

The Staying Close Tenancy Support Practitioner will provide support to identified children in care/leaving care; increasing their knowledge and understanding; enabling them to find and maintain a tenancy. The service will provide practical support and training through face-to-face 121 support, virtual delivery and on a targeted group work basis.

The aim of the programme is to sustain young people (16-25) in appropriate tenancies, equipping them to manage on a limited budget, looking after and maintaining their home, and supporting them to manage relationships with Landlords, housemates, and neighbours.

Face to face and virtual sessions will run over a 6-8-week period, helping to build and nurture positive relationships with young people, supporting them with maintaining boundaries and developing communication to achieve programme outcomes, managing retention.

Working inclusively alongside the young people, focusing on both a relational & strength-based approach, building on their inherent strengths, protective factors and what they want to achieve through the programme. Focus will be on children in residential care/supported lodgings/semi-independent accommodation and separated migrant children.

Work a 37 hours per week flexibly to enable the delivery of the training modules according to the needs of the attendees.

In order to be successful in this role, you must have:

-A relevant professional qualification working with vulnerable children and families e.g., Diploma/degree in social work, counselling qualification, professional youth worker or related NVQ or degree.

-Substantial experience of working with looked after young people or young people that are hard to reach and from diverse backgrounds, both on a one-to-one basis and through group work interventions.

-Experience of supporting adolescents who are dealing with complex and sensitive issues through offering advice and advocacy.

-Experience of partnership and multi-agency working.

-Experience of working on one's own and within a team.

-To demonstrate effective use and maintain case management systems, contribute to the administration of the project by undertaking tasks that support effective delivery of services, monitoring and evaluation of work and the maintenance of accurate records.

About the role

The £4.5m Young Gamechangers Fund (YGF) is an exciting UK funding initiative that provides grants of up to £20,000 a year to young people transforming communities into safer, more sustainable and more inclusive places to live. Funding is provided by the Co-op Foundation, Co-op and #iwill fund, and is delivered in partnership by Restless Development, Global Fund for Children and the Co-op Foundation. In addition to funding, successful applicants also get access to peer support networks, training and mentoring. Importantly, the fund is co-design with young activists, through a Youth Steering Group. All elements of the programme are youth-led and grantee centred, with a commitment to codesign and seeking input from young people at all stages. 

Evaluation and learning is central to the fund; we aim to generate learning that will support young people, grantees, funders and delivery partners to learn and increase their impact, but also to generate evidence that can influence the wider sector. Ultimately, we are seeking to change the way youth-led funding is delivered.

The Evaluation and Learning Coordinator will work closely with the grantees to help them effectively understand and learn from the results of their work; and to generate and disseminate wider evidence and learning on the impact of the fund. The role will work closely with the Fund’s external Evaluation and Learning Partner - The Social Innovation Partnership (TSIP) - who have just finalised a monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) framework for the fund. Restless Development is the delivery partner leading on the learning element of the fund.

We are looking for someone who has a commitment to learning and youth leadership, and is excited by the idea of generating evidence that could help to shift power to young people in the funding sector. You will also be excited by the prospect of working closely with our incredible Young Gamechangers, to help them better understand their impact.

Key responsibilities:

Support to Grantees

• Provide training and support to grantees to help them respond to quantitative and qualitative reporting requirements as set out by the MEL framework, e.g. through training on how to implement qualitative data collection tools (such as reflective diaries or more creative approaches such as video style reporting)
• Provide broader evaluation and learning support to grantees, based around the needs of their work - as part of the wider support offer alongside funding. Including the design and delivery of training, and in-person support visits.
• Support to grantees to complete other funder reporting requirements, including uploading quantitative data to match funder’s online portal.
• Focused support to a sample of grantees to help them develop Community Impact reports for their work, based on peer research (methodology to be defined from the Learning Partner)

Implementation of the Fund’s Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Framework

• Acting as the main point of contact for the Fund’s learning partner, and coordinating with other stakeholders (including delivery partners, funders and the Steering Group), to include coordinating feedback and review processes, e.g. for the mid-term and final evaluation reports.
• Work in partnership with the Learning Partner on the development and dissemination of any external learning products or activities, such as events, blogs or ‘Failure and Innovation One Pagers’
• Working to ensure strong youth engagement is embedded throughout all stages of the evaluation process, from design through to delivery. This will include working closely with the Steering Group.

Learning and Reporting systems

• Ensure effective processes are in place so that learning generated is used to inform the fund’s design and delivery, e.g. through a quarterly learning and review process.
• Responding to funder reporting requirements, including through the analysis of quantitative and qualitative data collected through the MEL framework.
• Working with Restless Development’s Communications team to support the external dissemination of any learning from the fund, e.g. helping to finalise external products, and identifying relevant case studies to showcase the fund’s impact.

Other

• Contributing to agency wide learning, working with colleagues across the global agency to build expertise in funding and supporting youth social action
• You will occasionally be required to work on weekends and/or public holidays, for which time off in lieu will be granted
