Week-in-week-out the busy team provides journalists with powerful proactive stories and quick-off-the-mark reaction that generates consistently high levels of media coverage across local, nations, national, consumer and specialist print, broadcast and online outlets.
This role is to be part of the National Media Team, working closely with a Media Manager, another Senior Media Officer and a Press Office Assistant to promote the NSPCC’s major policy-change campaigns and priorities, predominantly via national print, broadcast and digital media. Key areas of focus will include child protection and children’s social care, child sexual abuse, domestic abuse, online safety, early years, education and children’s experience of the justice system. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a network of contacts within the national media, using these relationships to ensure the NSPCC is at the forefront of coverage related to child abuse and neglect. They must be ready to respond quickly to opportunities to comment on stories while building the evidence base for the next big proactive story.
Job purpose

To lead with the other Senior Media Officer on the media delivery of the charities major public influencing campaigns and priorities

Person specification

You will have responsibility for running your IntoUniversity centre, including managing your team, planning and delivering the programme, liaising with external stakeholders and meeting IntoUniversity’s targets for delivery. A substantial element of this role is delivering our education programme to children and young people aged 7-18, so you will need to have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for working with young people, including leading a class of 30 from the front, working with small teams of children and providing one-to-one support.

What will my main dutires be?

This role will report to the strategy and partnerships director and will work closely with the research and policy director and political director, as well as other members of the senior management team, heads of teams and the wider staff.

Ensuring social impact is considered across our work
- Maintain Green Alliance’s reputation as a respected thought leader on climate and nature issues by leading and supporting the development and delivery of high quality strategies to secure impact in the environmental / health policy intersection. This may include research and policy development, political advocacy strategies and communications work.
- Advise colleagues on the narratives, framings and relationships that we should build in order to further our goals and use skills and experience to help build these. Use your networks to help us land our work with impact involving the right partners.
- Work with theme leads and the senior management team to design research plans that will ensure we are considering the distributional and other impacts our policy recommendations would have for different parts of society.
- Engage business, unions and other stakeholders to strengthen Green Alliance’s insights, political advocacy and communications work.

The role
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for working with Cruse in partnership with the Southern Gas Network (SGN) to support people experiencing a bereavement, with help and information to alleviate fuel poverty, enabling them to maintain a safe and warm home.
The Project Coordinator will work collaboratively across Cruse with our communications team, finance team, data team and service teams, to help extend the reach of these valuable services to bereaved people. This includes upskilling staff and volunteers with regard to fuel poverty, with training information and resources. Develop and support drop-in sessions, groups and community events.
