The Director of Fundraising be responsible for developing and implementing a fundraising strategy. This will include the day-to-day management of the existing fundraising team and championing fundraising at senior management level and with the Board.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5 to 10 years of fundraising experience, including managing a fundraising department.
- Proven track record of achieving a step change in income generation
- Experience of two of the following fundraising methodologies: Grants, Corporate, Community and events, Legacies, High net worth individuals or Commissioning
Evidence of continuous professional development in fundraising together with management experience and/or qualification is essential. As is strong digital skills, with a track record of maximising the use of CRMs and excellent business writing skills.
Must have good internal and external interpersonal skills, be an inspirational leader and capacity to represent Bipolar UK at a senior level.

Every month we empower 1,000 people to stay well and we plan to support many more. We offer specialist information and resources through our website, host over 80 peer support groups monthly and offer a 1-1 peer support line and moderated eCommunity. As Fundraising Officer, you will be playing a pivotal role in nurturing and growing our supporter-base across individual giving and events so that we can scale up our services to meet the needs of our community.

What you’ll be working on:
You'll be maintaining excellent stewardship to nurture and grow our supporters across a range of income streams
You'll be acting as a first point of contact for a wide range of supporters and enquirers and maintaining excellent stewardship to nurture and grow our donorbase.
You'll be managing and improving resources to support fundraising including t-shirts, posters, flyers, donation boxes and fundraising packs.
You'll be liaising with the communications team to create promotional materials for the website and social channels to increase fundraising engagement.
You'll be working alongside the fundraising team and communications team to deliver fundraising campaigns.
You'll be managing a number of external accounts to maximise event fundraising including Run for Charity, Enthuse and Discover Adventure.
You'll also be managing accounts to support in-memory donations and legacies and enhancing opportunities for growing these income streams.
This job is for you if:
You are passionate about creating a better world for people living with severe mental health conditions.
You have at least 2 years’ experience of fundraising ideally in individual giving or community fundraising.
You have excellent written and verbal skills – with experience of writing compelling copy and building diverse strong relationships.
You have excellent project management and time management skills.
You are creative and versatile in your approach and value the opportunity to grow and shape your role.
You have experience of delivering against targets.
You are comfortable working with minimal supervision in a remote environment.
You have a sound understanding of the principles of fundraising including ethical fundraising and GDPR compliance.
You have used Salesforce (or equivalents).
You have a high level of competence using Microsoft Office software and are able to quickly adapt to new technologies.

About the role
Location: This is a community-based role with home working which will require travel within the Bath and North East Somerset area. There may be the need for some travel within the wider Swindon, Wiltshire and Dorset area.
Contract: Fixed term contract - 9 months until end Sept 2025 to cover maternity leave
Support will be provided in person, over the telephone, via virtual options, or in writing. Our goal is to reach out to people affected by dementia from all communities and support their needs within their own community. We work closely with the local memory service and other health and social care partners to ensure the most appropriate support services are involved.
You will:
- Assist people with dementia and their carers in identifying their needs, providing information and guidance to help maintain their independence, improving their sense of well-being, and putting them in more control of their lives.
- Be part of a highly motivated and supportive team, sharing responsibility for managing the waiting list and attending the memory clinic on a rota basis.
- Build relationships with a range of local contacts, networking with health and care professionals, and attending events and giving talks to promote our services.
- Provide support face-to-face, by telephone and online.

Job Purpose:
The Clinical Nurse Specialist will act as a resource for The Robin Cancer Trust, beneficiaries, healthcare professionals and the wider public on germ cell cancers. The role includes service delivery and development, reviewing our health information and health education and awareness training resources, and supporting the creation and facilitation of a new Medical Advisory Group for Robin Cancer Trust. They will also work with the CEO to contribute to wider work to streamline and develop the services offered by The Robin Cancer Trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead responsibility for keeping up to date with clinical updates relating to germ cancer and communicating these to the team to inform service development and delivery.
- Research, create and provide accessible information and resources on all aspects of germ cell cancer (detection, treatment, recovery and survivorship)
- Oversight of the content provided in all training materials, resources and information developed by the wider team relating to germ cell cancer detection, treatment and recovery and survivorship.
- Build external stakeholder and peer relationships with other key cancer partners including hospital networks, cancer care partnerships, and other voluntary sector providers. Playing an active role in the germ cell cancer community.
- Working as a core part of the Robin Cancer Trust team to engage people face to face, providing information and on early detection, treatment, and recovery.
Person Specifications
Essential qualifications:
- Nursing and Midwifery Council registration and a degree in a related subject.

The Community Engagement Officer will work as a core part of our Service Delivery team. The role will lead work to coordinate and deliver community-based activities, using evidence-based approaches, to support early diagnosis of germ cell cancer. They will engage younger adults face-to-face (through a variety of methods including training, awareness raising and outreach activities) to provide information on germ cell cancers, cancer prevention, self-examinations, and early signs and symptoms.
Key Responsibilities
- To build a deeper and more localised understanding of the population in their region and develop effective approaches to engage communities of younger adults who may be underserved by cancer education in order to break down barriers to early presentation.
- To deliver key cancer-related health messages through a variety of methods, for example providing cancer education and awareness presentations to community groups, community talks and delivery of awareness-raising activities.
- To support other public health initiatives and cancer awareness outreach activities across their region.
- To develop awareness of signs and symptoms of germ cell cancers amongst young adults and encourage people to seek earlier medical intervention.
- To support recruitment of Survivor Ambassador Volunteers and support them to be involved with cancer awareness activity where appropriate.

This role supports the planning and delivery of Individual Giving acquisition activity through the day to day running of Individual Giving campaigns, assisting with analysis and evaluation of activity as well as with yearly marketing plans
Key Responsibilities:

The Role
