Fundraising:

• Conduct research on potential funding opportunities and grant applications 

• Assist with the development and implementation of fundraising campaigns

About this job

In this role you will be providing emotional support and information to people affected by multiple sclerosis (MS) that empowers them to; live to their full potential, take an active role in their treatment and secure the care and support they need. Our helpline is open 9am – 7pm and therefore this role includes working a shift pattern of 9-5, 10-6, 11-7 or as the service demands.

Please note this is a fixed term 12-months maternity cover contract. This role is full time, part-time hours (28 hours +) will be considered.

· Work closely with the Stories & Celebrity Manager, identify, interview, and write-up case study stories from people who are deaf, have hearing loss, or tinnitus to support RNID’s campaigns, media, and fundraising efforts.

· Manage and update our centralised database of case studies, celebrities, and influencers, ensuring all stories across the charity are recorded for effective stewardship. Maintain storyteller profiles, contact details, permissions, and consent forms while ensuring GDPR compliance in data collection and storage.

· Collaborate with PR, fundraising, digital, and campaigning teams to integrate storytelling into their work, identify their needs, and match case studies or celebrities to relevant projects.

· Support the development and delivery of storytelling content across multiple platforms, including social media, website, press, and marketing materials, ensuring content meets accessibility standards.

· Manage multiple internal and external storyteller requests.

We are looking for an individual with a passion for storytelling and a deep commitment to amplifying the voices of people who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus. You will have excellent writing skills, with experience in journalism, PR, or a similar field, and have a strong ability to craft compelling narratives that engage and inspire.

Your interviewing skills will be key, as you’ll need to connect with people from diverse backgrounds, ensuring they feel comfortable and confident sharing their stories. Sensitivity and empathy will be essential as you capture authentic, impactful stories. In addition, you’ll be an exceptional multitasker, able to manage multiple storytelling requests and competing priorities with ease. As HR officer you will:

• Manage end-to-end recruitment campaigns, from job ad to onboarding, using our Applicant Tracking System.
• Draft offer letters and contracts, coordinate pre-employment checks and new starter onboarding.
• Be the main point of contact for day-to-day HR queries, offering advice or escalating where needed.
• Support monthly payroll and benefits administration in collaboration with the Finance team.
• Assist with key HR processes including PDRs, training, probation, and policy reviews.
• Provide support on ER matters and help coordinate casework as needed.

What we’re looking for

• Experience in HR administration or as a generalist, with confidence managing recruitment and onboarding.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to offer sound HR advice.

We are looking to recruit a CEO (Director) to support us in an exciting period of growth. Over the next 5 years, we will double our reach and impact. The CEO (Director) will lead us through this transformative period. 

Since 2011 Disability Africa has developed a model using playschemes as hubs to deliver essential lifesaving services to extremely vulnerable disabled children and to end their exclusion in low-income African communities. Using this model, we have worked with project partners in Kenya, The Gambia, Sierra Leone and Zambia. 680 disabled children have now attended our projects more than 90,000 times since 2011. Now the charity is planning to grow and expand with our 5-year plan (‘DA2029’) to replicate the Disability Africa Model to reach more disabled children across Africa.

By 2029 we will: 
• Start work with at least 4 new partners in Africa (as well as expected growth at our existing projects). 
• Deliver 160,000 attendances by at least 1,500 disabled children in 7 African countries. 
• Grow and reach as many disabled children as possible - we know we can’t do it all by ourselves - so we will engage other international NGOs to adopt our model of inclusion.

SENIOR COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER 

Reports To:     Communications Manager
Hours: Full Time (9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week)

We’re Dogs for Good. We bring people and dogs together to help make everyday life possible. As part of our ambitious five-year strategy to support over 4,000 people a year by 2028, we’re expanding our Marketing and Communications Team and looking for a Senior Communications Officer to help share our impact.

This role will ensure our stories and impact are understood, celebrated and championed by all our stakeholders across multiple channels. You’ll be an excellent communicator with strong organisational skills, understanding of all aspects of internal and external comms, a passion for storytelling, and the ability to engage diverse audiences.
