The Director of Fundraising and Engagement plays a crucial part in helping us achieve our vision that no family whose child has cancer, or a life-challenging condition should have to cope alone.  With an ambitious fundraising aim over the next 3 years, you will be leading a dedicated Fundraising and Engagement team to generate in excess of £1.2million income annually.

As a vital part of the Senior Management Team, you will report directly to the CEO. Your role involves leading the Fundraising and Engagement team, where you will develop and implement innovative fundraising and engagement ideas along with bringing a high level of enthusiasm. As a hands-on and creative fundraiser, your pivotal responsibility is to ensure Momentum’s income sustainability while fostering personal growth and development for our team members.

Role overview

§  Working with the team collaboratively, responsible for leading the implementation of the fundraising and engagement strategy, which seeks to build and improve existing income streams, accelerate the growth in under optimised and emerging income streams and invest in growth opportunities.

§  Build and maintain a portfolio of high value fundraising streams including legacy giving, major donors along with developing new strategy and approach for individual giving.

§  Develop and deliver Momentum’s annual income strategy to secure in excess of £1.2 million increasing to £1.5 million over the next 3 years.

§  Provide exemplary stewardship of our supporters, focussing on retention and development of supporter journeys.

§  Create opportunities to grow our unrestricted income and support our 3-year strategic plan.

§  Personally manage key trust, corporate and supporter relationships alongside CEO.

§  Responsible for managing, recruiting and leading our incredible fundraising and engagement team to achieve their individual targets

Digital Fundraising Officer
Salary: £23,566 - £29,994 per annum depending on experience

As the Digital Fundraising Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the Marketing Manager, with the objective of delivering online digital campaigns to maximise support for key areas of the fundraising team. Activities include recruiting challenge event participants and new regular donors to build brand awareness in key geographical areas. Role summary

• Plan and deliver digital campaigns including via social media, email, retargeting and pay-per-click advertising, analysing results to maximise support and income

Project management

• Produce and execute multi-channel digital marketing campaigns to support the fundraising and communications objectives of the charity

• Working with the data team to ensure the accurate and timely import and export of donor data and that supporter records are always up to date

• Produce and analyse audience data to inform creative decisions and identify opportunities to improve engagement
• Produce and circulate campaign information documents to update internal colleagues on activity and end of campaign reports

Planning and reporting

• Plan, execute and analyse digital campaigns and make evidence-based recommendations to inform future activities
• Produce audience and campaign data to provide insight into activity and produce monthly activity reports. Benchmark Magpas Air Ambulance's digital marketing and fundraising activity against sector and industry averages where possible
• Research new digital tools to streamline processes whilst providing excellent supporter care
• Work with the database team and supporter care to ensure that digital supporters and activity is correctly tracked and managed through the digital journey
• Remain informed and up to date on the latest digital fundraising developments and use information to contribute to planning and developing activity

About you

• Proven experience of working on digital marketing/advertising campaigns to achieve income targets across email and social media channels
• Experience of using an email delivery system such as Mailchimp, Dot Digital, Pardot etc.
• Knowledge and experience of using GA4
• Proven ability to manage relationships with third-party suppliers including creative agencies, printers and fulfilment house
• Proven ability to work closely with internal teams including Communications, Supporter Care and Finance department

The charity was founded in 2004 by our now Chief Executive and has grown enormously over that time. We currently have partnerships with 9 hospitals who refer families to us for our support, which ranges from therapies and counselling, to respite holidays and special family experiences.

Momentum Children’s Charity’s fundraising team is highly ambitious, driven by our goal to help families of seriously ill children in London, Surrey and Sussex to keep moving forward. Corporate income currently comprises circa 18% of the overall income. But with our expansion in hospital partnership geography, and aspiration to provide support to more families in the future, the expansion of this income stream will be key to this growth.
