- Manage month-end reconciliations, both in the UK and overseas.
- Check receipts and accurate recording of staff expenses.

- Part-qualified Accountant (actively studying for a recognised CCAB qualification).
- Similar experience - Debit vs Credit entries, Purchase Ledger, Reconciliations, accruals and prepayments.
- Strong Excel skills are required.

The role
We are looking for a new Editor and Content Manager to lead the production of the magazine, help specify and develop a new digital version to run alongside the printed magazine, and to support the wider communications team, especially with content creation and the website.
What you will be doing
You will work closely with members, staff and suppliers to commission, edit and polish articles for the magazine and ensure that every page is top-quality and that it goes out to members on time and on-budget. On any one day in this exciting and varied role, you could be interviewing members for stories and spotlights, writing engaging articles for the magazine or our website, creating new website pages or editing existing ones, or sourcing on-brand images and photos.
The print magazine is very popular, and we now want to develop a winning digital version alongside the printed version, so one of your responsibilities will be to work with colleagues to oversee its digitisation.
You will also be part of our small but dedicated communications team, which is responsible for delivering not only the magazine, but also the MA’s successful media relations, social media posts and engagement, and the majority of our website content.

Role details
Position: Editor and Content Manager

Location: We’re currently working 100% remotely. We are looking for an office site in the south bank/ Vauxhall area of London, so ideally you would be able to work in that area at least one day per week.
Hours: 21 hours per week (part-time). You could work these hours in three full days or spread over four or five days.

- Confidence in using the Microsoft Office suite, familiarity with virtual meeting tools (e.g. MS Teams, Zoom, etc)
- Academic or other background in policy, politics or sustainability
- Interest in social, environmental, and economic sustainability

Role Summary:
PETA’s campaigns team is at the core of the organisation – it’s a busy group of advocates pushing for an end to animal suffering with eye-catching, bold campaigns calling on the government, the corporate world, and the public to take action for animals. Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist the campaigners with organising and holding demonstrations and other actions
- Assist with day-to-day tasks within the campaigns team
- Research our targets, conduct horizon scanning, and look for campaign opportunities
- Perform general administrative tasks, such as assisting with our campaigns inventory, data-entry, gathering and sending materials to PETA entities and activists, and archiving photos after demonstrations
- Travel when necessary to attend demonstrations, tabling, and other campaign events
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
- Experience as an activist preferred but not essential
- Willingness to take part in demonstrations and disruptions
- Knowledge of animal rights issues
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to be punctual and dependable
- Willingness to travel
- Adherence to a vegan lifestyle preferred
- Commitment to the objectives of the organisation

This role is for a respected membership organisation to support the work of the Programme Communications team, and particularly its support of the Research directorate, by helping draft, design, compile, schedule, monitor and evaluate digital content promoting the Academy's Research programmes.
Main duties will include:-
- Following briefs set out by the Programme Communications Manager, Research, compose social media posts and other copy to promote the Academy's research programmes.
- Using Canva and existing templates, develop graphics for use in social media campaigns.
- Use Sprout Social to schedule social media content for the Academy's social media programmes
- 4Review social media analytics and report on live and historical campaigns to review what drives engagement
- Use DotDigital to compile funding opportunity newsletters using branded templates
- Support the research team in bringing awardee and programme pages on the Academy's website up-to-date.
- Compile written toolkits for stakeholders to promote the Academy's research programmes
- Help organise a library of digital assets, timelines and plans to support the launch of future rounds of research programmes.
- Provide administrative support to the Programme Communications Manager, Research, and the wider Programme Communications team.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the below
- Experience of managing social media channels using Sprout Social
- Experience of producing e-newsletters and managing mailouts using DotDigital
- Experience of developing promotional graphics using Canva
- Copywriting experience
- Broad knowledge of X and LinkedIn and their uses
- Understanding social media metrics and the principles of effective social media communication
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) with an attention to detail
- Strong administrative skills
- Good analytical skills

- Resourceful, versatile, and adaptable
- Proactive and well-organised
