It is an exciting time to join Helen & Douglas House as we embark on our new 3-year strategy, where a Coporate Partnerships Executive will support the growth of the Corporate Partnerships income. In this role you will be responsible for managing and developing your own relationships with corporate partners. You’ll have the opportunity to connect with local businesses who are passionate about supporting a local children’s hospice with the aim of supporting meaningful, long-term partnerships. 

You will have autonomy to lead your own accounts, new business pipeline, and projects with guidance from the Corporate Partnerships Manager. Experience working in third sector corporate partnerships is desirable but not essential, there are many transferable skills from supporter stewardship and account management, for example, which will benefit this role.  

This is a hybrid 0.8FTE (32 hours a week) role with an average of 2 days per week spent working in our office in Cowley, Oxford. The pay range for this role is £31,994 - £35,923 full-time equivalent per annum (£25,595 - £28,738 pro rata per annum), depending on skills and experience. Full-time hours will be considered for the right candidate.

Assistant Accountant

We have an opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join the team managing the day-to-day accounting and financial stewardship of the Church, under the supervision of the Finance Manager.

This role offers hybrid and flexible working.

The Role

As Assistant Accountant, you will take a lead role in every aspect of the day-today accounting and financial stewardship of the Church, working in collaboration with the staff team. You will assist with the financial setup of new church plants, ensuring a consistent approach across all of the Church partnership of churches, identifying best-practice and ensuring robust checks and balances are in place as the finance function increases in operational complexity.

Consistency, attention to detail, and best practice are key as this role will also help to establish a centralised resource service, offering a limited range of financial services to other selected churches in the town. This is a hands-on role; the successful applicant will enjoy understanding and implementing the detail of charity and church accounting requirements.

About You

You will be AAT qualified (or equivalent) or have significant appropriate experience and with a demonstrative development of skills.

We are looking for an experienced grants fundraiser to join us and make a significant impact on our work with young people in central Doncaster. 

We are currently finalising our next Forward Plan, with an ambition to create an inclusive, vibrant community, committed to everyone having a fair chance to discover who they are and what they can become.  We currently work with children and young people aged 5 to 30. 

Our priority programmes include support coaching for young people, community activity sessions, sustaining our accommodation provision for vulnerable young adults and establishing how we can best support more young people on the homelessness pathway.  We have some great spaces that are in need of development, and we expect that both capital and revenue funding will be included in your workload. Safe Passage International (SPI) is recruiting an Arrivals and Social Support Worker to support to continuing and sustainable growth in our ground-breaking work to ensure that safe routes to sanctuary exist for all people seeking asylum, and that the young people and families we work with have dignity and safety on arrival.

This Arrivals and Social Support Worker will work with young people and families to support them in their reunification and arrival to the UK. This legal casework is facilitated by our UK Legal Team and covers a range of geographic regions inside and outside of Europe, including responding to emerging crises such as working to support people fleeing Afghanistan, Ukraine, Sudan and Palestine.

Reunification and resettlement is a difficult process. This role will involve conducting pre-arrival needs assessments, preparing the family for the reunification, and supporting them after they arrive in the UK. The Arrivals and Social Support Worker will also help young people and families transition into their new life, by supporting them with the practical and emotional aspects of resettling in the UK. You will work with the family and professionals and act as a bridge into longer term services and support. This role will also provide social support on a case-by-case basis for others in vulnerable situations, including family members pre-arrival, as well as to those on our Young Leaders Programme. This is a challenging and extremely rewarding role for candidates with a good understanding of the challenges young people and refugees face on arrival to the UK.

About the role

We’re looking for a Human Resources Advisor with strong experience in employee relations and policy development to join our People Team. In this role, you’ll work closely with the HR Business Partners and act as the escalation point from our People Operations Team, offering comprehensive, pragmatic people advisory services across the organisation. You’ll support colleagues and managers on a wide range of HR topics, including employee relations, recruitment, and policy improvement.

This is a key role that doesn’t involve direct management responsibilities, but you will play a pivotal part in coaching and advising managers and colleagues. We’re looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to handle complex HR cases with confidence and professionalism.

You’ll be joining a collaborative team committed to improving people processes and enhancing workforce diversity and inclusion.

What will I be doing?

• Provide first-line people advisory support, managing employee relations issues such as performance management, grievances, and absence management.
• Assist with complex HR casework and organisational change programmes, including restructuring and redundancies.
• Collaborate with hiring managers to ensure an inclusive and diverse recruitment and selection process.
• Liaise with the People Operations Team to ensure all people changes are accurately reflected in our systems and payroll.
• Support the development and implementation of our People policies and processes across the organisation.
