We are recruiting a permanent HR Business Partner role, for a well-known non-profit organisation, to be based either in London or York, with up to two days office presence required. Reporting into the Deputy Director for HR Operations and joining at team of 4 HR Business Partners, this role will be a combination of HR Business Partnering, with a context of change management and organisational transition - so some experience of working within a change environment would be highly desirable.
As our new HR Business Partner, you will be working closely with senior leaders to identify business problems and develop appropriate HR solutions, embedding our values in their departments, developing and reviewing succession plans, addressing skills gaps, and with organisational restructures and other change initiatives;
We are seeking to strengthen management capacity so this will involve coaching managers on a range of HR topics, and helping to embed HR policies and processes; whilst also supporting ER casework (absence, disciplinary, capability and grievances etc) and working on ad hoc HR related projects.
This role requires previous experience as an HR Business Partner (or similar role partnering with senior stakeholders). You will need to demonstrate how you have built strong relationships with senior leaders and the ability to quickly gain an understanding of the HR challenges facing the client group; whilst experience of supporting cultural and structural change within a complex organisation is critical and you'll need to be confident in challenging and coaching senior leaders.

The role
The Executive Manager is a new senior leadership role, leading on the organisations’ fundraising, partnership and service development and supporting the board in all aspects of organisational governance.
We are looking for someone who thrives in a varied role, bringing professionalism, collaborative style and leadership to the organisation. The role involves leadership in core areas, such as HR processes, charity governance, fundraising and oversight of client finance and building maintenance
Working closely with the Clinical Manager the postholder will ensure that the core functions of the organisation support and enhance the delivery of our clinical service. The role will manage a small office management / administrative team comprising both paid and voluntary staff.
This is currently a fixed term, part time role, which we seek to extent it into a full time and permanent role subject to secure additional and sustainable funding.
Job description
Service Development
- Develops links and partnerships with other organisations, representing Share and attending external meetings
- Identifies and pursues additional avenues of funding
- Completes funding bids for routine funding opportunities and manages relationships with funders from proposal submission to reporting
- Plays an active part in strategic and business planning with the board of trustees, setting stretching but achievable goals for the organisation.
- Manages and improves as and when required data collection processes, collating and analysing data to informing governance, fundraising and business planning
Governance and Compliance
- Provides support to the Chair of Trustees to ensure sound the governance of the organisation
- Delivers timely and reliable administrative support to the board of trustees, specifically around quarterly board meetings, AGMs and other governance matters
- Manages the organisational risk register, reporting regularly to trustees
- Leads on policy development, compliance and annual reporting cycles
- Maintains and updates HR processes and employment practices
- Working with the clinical manager to assess client experience and ensure a high level of customer/client satisfaction
Operations
- Leads on building management, health and safety and identifying and scheduling building maintenance work
- Oversees management of all elements of the operation of the building including, but not limited to, utilities usage and contracts, building access arrangements, security, first aid provision, fire alarm systems, lone working procedures, and relevant organisational insurances.
- Oversee maintenance and development of the website and IT systems
- Responsible for managing and developing all operational policies
HR
- Oversee and develop all HR policies and processes in consultation with the board of trustees
- Hold monthly performance and development check-ins with staff and volunteers as appropriate
- Provider leadership to the office management/administration team of both paid and voluntary roles
- Oversee the provision of compulsory trainings to all staff and volunteers at Share
- Hold responsibility for organisational compliance with recruitment and DBS legislation and practices
- Deliver strong safeguarding processes working closely with the Clinical Manager
- Lead recruitment processes
Finance
- Overview of payment processes including invoices, wages, and tax payments
- Manage monthly accounts working closely with the Treasurer, reporting regularly to the Board
- Developing budgets for funding bids and monitoring of expenditure
- Hold the organisation’s relationship with the independent examiner, undertaking the annual accounts process and Charity Commission reporting
- Be responsible for banking and bank signatory changes

The opportunity
We are seeking a skilled, experienced, and driven Finance Manager to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company’s growth and development. You will review our financial procedures and processes and where appropriate recommend and implement change and improvements. You will lead our two-person finance team, part of core services, which provides HR, IT, facilities, and marketing support for the company.
What you will be doing
- Delivery of accurate and timely financial information for the company including preparation of monthly reports as required.
- Support the CEO and Executive on strategic development through the provision of performance insights on financial and delivery metrics and management accounts, liaising with external accountants, as appropriate.
- Provide reports to the Directors, Executive and other senior staff analysing company performance including project financial performance.
- Prepare for and oversee the Company’s annual independent financial accounts audit.
- Oversee insurance policies liaising with brokers and other third parties, as necessary.
- Monthly financial reconciliation of QuickBooks and CMap and production of reports.

- Support the company to continually improve our IMS systems and B Corp accreditation through the provision of efficient financial project management systems and reporting.

The Opportunity
The Partnerships Manager will support the team in delivering ambitious membership growth targets for the College. Working closely with the Associate Director: Partnerships, the Partnerships Manager will take responsibility for:
- Developing and delivering presentations to drive Chartered College membership, ensuring that trainee teachers, teachers and school leaders are aware of and join the College, including at conferences and sector events.
- Developing new partnerships to support scalable income generation for group memberships, Chartered programmes, accreditation and projects, and introducing bespoke opportunities for customers and stakeholders.
- Supporting existing partnerships and, through those relationships, identifying wider sector challenges for the College to address. This will include working closely with the Associate Director for Professional Learning, Marketing and Communications Manager and Head of Content.
Membership sales
Most of your time you will be working towards achievement of objectives (including sales and account management and supporting overall membership numbers) and income targets for the full range of products and services including group membership, Chartered programmes, accreditations and projects offered by the College. You will build and maintain a sales pipeline to report to the Associate Director: Partnerships.
Membership engagement
You will spend some of your time managing and implementing workshops, webinars and activities for groups of trainee teachers, teachers and leaders to drive membership engagement, upgrade, renewal and recruitment. This will require regular travel throughout the UK. You will also liaise with training providers, universities and appropriate bodies to support student recruitment and upgrade to ECT membership.
Account Management
You will spend some of your time:
- Maintaining excellent account management and first-rate customer service with both existing and new partners and customers.
- Working closely with Members, Fellows and supporters of the College to build and maintain relationships and expand potential partnership opportunities.
- Maintaining records in the College’s CRM system (Salesforce), and ensuring colleagues are informed of customers’ status and opportunities.
- With the Associate Director: Partnerships and Membership Manager, managing processes and implementing activities.
Other
Alongside your main areas of work, you will:

Role purpose:
• With other leaders, to set a new fundraising strategy to further our missions, with a focus on diversification and sustainability of funding.

About you:

An overview of the opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Talent and Leadership Development, we are looking for a customer-focused, organised, forward thinking and creative Programme Manager to join us and drive our mission of cross-sector collaboration.

As leaders second in and out of organisation's, so too does knowledge sharing and porosity which enables strong decision making and improved collaboration. You will be responsible for managing the Charity Next Secondment Programme ( a collaborative partnership between the Civil Service Fast Stream and Charities, Not for Profit's and Academia) working collaboratively to maximise secondment engagement between the sectors. You will also manage inwards secondments to member organisations as well as working on and developing new concepts, programmes and solutions to maximise porosity and knowledge sharing. You will work closely with other departments and the wider team to develop and increase both the volume and impact of secondment initiatives. You will do this by leveraging your data-driven and research approach as well as evidencing your strong relationship and stakeholder development skills.
What we’re looking for:
- Prior experience as a programme manager, project manager or similar, client-facing role with a demonstrable track record of excellent customer service.
- Prior experience in internal and external stakeholder management and proven ability to build rapport and liaise with senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrable experience in delivering successful and effective business development strategies - with strong outcomes.
- A successful track record of using CRM systems (a plus if it's Dynamics!), Microsoft Forms, and other software applications to help aid decision making, keep on track of KPIs and to ensure strong project management and outcomes.
- Demonstrable aptitude in managing administration and processes including the signing of secondment agreements, onboarding meetings, feedback cycles and regular communication strategies.
- Demonstrable history of meeting deadlines and the ability to oversee several different projects simultaneously.

- Exceptional organisational skills and impeccable attention to detail.

What do some of the main role responsibilities look like?

We're searching for a fundraising professional with experience in acquiring new donors through a variety of fundraising channels including Door to Door (F2F), digital fundraising, DRTV, cold mailing and door drops. You'll be responsible for managing a £2.4 million budget and developing innovative strategies to increase individual cash and regular giving support. Operation Smile is a global nonprofit specialising in cleft surgery and care. We provide medical training, education and mentorship to surgical teams around the world, along with expertise, research and care through our staff and volunteers, working alongside local governments, nonprofits and health systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and drive recruitment of regular givers and cash givers to grow income and supporter volumes, in a multi-channel programme including Door to Door (F2F), digital fundraising channels, DRTV, cold mailing and door drops.
- Manage relationships with agency partners executing acquisition campaigns on behalf of Operation Smile UK for the betterment of the acquisition programme.
