HOMES FOR WELLS is looking for a dynamic new Chief Executive to lead our organisation into the next phase. As a small local Housing Association in the beautiful town of Wells-next-the-Sea we house local key workers in affordable rented accommodation.

We are a Charitable Community Benefit Society, a RSL and a CLT. We have a board of volunteers and two part time staff – a Chief Executive and an Administrator.

We are seeking a new Chief Executive to be responsible for the day to day running of the organisation which currently manages around 30 properties.

The successful applicant will have housing and management experience, good IT skills and a positive outlook.

This is a 3 day a week position, but we can be flexible, and we expect you to be too.  Some evenings will be required.

Salary according to experience but we will pay up to £50,000 full time equivalent.

About You

We’re looking for a dynamic person with drive, energy and enthusiasm.

You will have a track record of leading and managing and will have experience of housing associations and their governance. 

 You will be confident in working with local government officials, other stakeholders and tenants. 

As well as an understanding of the law relating to residential tenancies you will have strong numeracy and literacy skills and experience of providing financial reports. You will be skilled and experienced in partnership working and in facilitating the best performance in others, partners and contractors alike.

You will enjoy getting the job done and be used to dealing with multiple priorities at one time as well as spotting new opportunities to raise the profile of our cause.

The Role 

The role is 3 days per week ideally Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with some flexibility for different hours subject to proper support for the Administrator.  Some evenings and weekend working will be required including monthly board meetings, HFW events and meetings at times convenient to Tenants.

The role is based at our office in Wells next the Sea and reports to the Chair.

We are looking for a Funding Officer to join our team in Wales.  This is a fixed term, full time post until March 2026 (open to a conversation on flexible working and job share) 

Depending on your location and preference, you will be based in either the Cardiff or Newtown office. You are welcome to be based in the office full time, or a combination of home and office working. You will need to travel within Wales to work with community groups and charities, and to other offices across the UK to work with colleagues. 

As a Funding Officer serving our Mid & West Wales region, (Bridgend, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Neath Port Talbot, Pembrokeshire, Powys and Swansea).

• You will assess requests for funding and manage grants using local knowledge, best practice, thematic expertise, and the experience of customers and stakeholders to improve our grant making and inform our decision making. By working closely with people and communities, you will understand what matters to them and where our funding can make the biggest difference.
• You will be responsible for supporting local people and communities in Bridgend and Neath Port Talbot, and have a strong understanding of our vision, being able to adapt your approach to the wishes of the people you are working with.
• You’ll also need to support our stakeholders, helping them to make connections that will help them achieve their goals.
• You will be responsible for the pipeline of projects in Bridgend and Neath Port Talbot, understanding and responding to the different needs of our customers by providing advice and considered feedback, and be willing to have challenging but constructive conversations. Funding Officers will ensure our grant management and assessment play an effective part in contributing to the Fund’s knowledge and learning as a grant maker.
• You will manage your own caseload, liaise with grant recipients, undertake project visits, identify and manage risk, supporting organisations to deliver their projects and measure their impact.

Role Overview

The postholder will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure that all creative outputs align with our brand identity and communication goals. About You

You’ll have proven experience as a Graphic Designer; working either in a similar role or in an in-house or agency setting.  Your excellent understanding of brand identity, typography, and visual storytelling will come into play whilst creating accessible and inclusive content, and using your skills in Adobe Creative Suite to design for social media, email marketing campaigns, web platforms, paid advertising and printed media. You’ll be someone with a  strong management skills, an ability to juggle multiple projects and work to tight deadlines. Experience working in charities, health organisations, or advocacy groups would be an advance, but not essential.

Our Location

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home,  although there will be times when you will need to be at face-to-face meetings with your team or our partner agencies, or be required attend a few team away-days each year. In In addition, the charity meets four times annually at its office in Hatfield (or a location in London) for its’ ‘All Staff Together’ days, at which attendance is mandatory.

The postholder will work closely with colleagues and external partners to deliver exceptional supporter experiences that inspire participation, encourage fundraising, and maximise income for the charity.

Finance Assistant (full time employment contract)

St James’s, Piccadilly is seeking someone who has at least 2+ years experience working in finance or similar role, who has a strong knowledge of MS Office Suite and XERO with particularly extensive experience of using Microsoft Excel and financial modelling skills. In this role, you will drive UNICEF UK's communications and media efforts for public fundraising and brand campaigns such as Soccer Aid for UNICEF,  as well as advocacy campaigns, and humanitarian emergencies. You'll manage relationships with UK media and collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver ambitious, impactful media coverage that supports our income and influence goals across the Public Relations and News and Emergencies teams.

To succeed, you'll need experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating media strategies, and crafting effective communication materials to secure consumer and news coverage in key mass media outlets. Exceptional communication skills are essential, as is the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with UK journalists and stakeholders. Key responsibilities:

Income Generation

• Drive online income generation through effective use of digital fundraising platforms, social media, and supporter journeys.
• Optimise and manage digital giving platforms, such as Funraisin, to increase donations and supporter engagement.
• Expand and enhance peer-to-peer fundraising, ensuring fundraisers have the tools and motivation to maximise income.

Digital & Social Media

• Increase digital reach and visibility, making sure fundraising messages are seen and acted upon.
• Leverage social media fundraising tools, such as Elovate (CommittedGiving), to improve donor retention and engagement.
• Use AI-powered tools to streamline prospect research, automate content personalisation, and optimise donor engagement.
• Develop and execute strategies to convert social media and website visitors into long-term donors.

Support & Collaboration

• Provide guidance and digital tools to e-volunteers and fundraising champions, enabling them to spread AvMA’s fundraising messages and attract donations.
• Analyse and report on digital fundraising performance, using insights to refine strategy and improve return on investment.
• Contribute to digital income diversification, exploring new revenue-generating opportunities such as online retail or supporter-driven fundraising products (e-commerce experience desirable).

Birmingham and Solihull Women’s aid have for over 40 years supported women and children with services around domestic violence and abuse. Could you be a part of our team as we continue our mission to end domestic violence and abuse? 

The region’s leading charity in tackling violence against women and girls, BSWA offers a helpline, webchat, drop in and and community support as well as emergency accommodation in six refuges across the area.

Projects supports women in the criminal justice system, in healthcare settings, and throughout the community, offering support to women and children experiencing domestic violence. Alongside this, we also have colleagues offering training and consultancy to businesses and health and social care professionals alike, raising awareness on gender based violence issues.

We seek like-minded women to join our enthusiastic team of workers, all of us passionate about the vital and valuable work we do to support women and children who have experienced domestic abuse, and tackling the wider issues of violence against women and girls. 

This role will develop and deliver a service offering mental health support and advice to women living in refuge.
