The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is the senior lay officer in the Cathedral and has the responsibility for managing the business functions of the Cathedral and monitoring operational performance.
As COO. you will be pivotal to the delivery of the Cathedral’s vision and strategy and the development of business and operational plans to ensure delivery of the Cathedral’s strategic outcomes. You will work with the Dean and the Senior Management Team to develop and implement strategy and policy, ensuring good governance, the effective and professional administration of the Cathedral in compliance with all policies and procedures and relevant statutory legislation.

ROLE PURPOSE
The Community and Events Fundraising Manager will be a vital member of the Mass Fundraising team, responsible for leading activity across Community and Events. They will be instrumental in driving the Community and Events team to achieve our income targets and grow Community & Events from £400,000 to £550,000 over the next five years and by 29/30.
This role will focus on identifying and nurturing impactful fundraising relationships, providing exceptional stewardship and delivering a calendar of community and events fundraising. The ideal candidate will be able to implement effective income growth strategies, particularly in working with local companies and in memory fundraisers. Working with the Mass Fundraising Officer, the postholder will be responsible for marketing our community and events programme to increase the number of people fundraising for St George’s Hospital Charity and ensure the community and events programme provides a positive ROI. They will have a confident knowledge of fundraising regulation and responsible data management to ensure community and events activity is delivered in line with best practice.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning & Delivery
- Develop and implement the community and events fundraising strategy in line with KPIs and budgets set out in the annual business plan and fundraising strategy.
- Lead on the day-to-day management of the community and events fundraising plan to increase net income and supporter numbers.
- Monitor community and events activities to ensure compliance with fundraising guidelines and promote best practice.
Fundraising Development
- Work with the Head of Mass Fundraising to develop the community and events portfolio, including the development of new products, with the aim to achieve significant and sustainable growth of unrestricted income.
- Identify and cultivate relationships in the local community to generate new income from audiences including schools, community groups, local corporates, and mid-high value individual fundraisers.
- Work closely with the communications team to effectively market community and challenge events fundraising to grow supporter numbers and income.
- Work closely with fundraising colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to the delivery of excellent stewardship and new business development.
- Continually develop community and events supporter journeys to give our fundraisers a memorable and meaningful experience fundraising for St George’s Hospital Charity and encourage repeat fundraising.
- Attend events and activities to promote the work of the charity.
Financial Management
- Prepare, monitor and manage income and expenditure budgets and reforecasts.
- Prepare reports and evaluations of the community and events portfolio as required.
- Work with the Database Manager to effectively monitor key performance indicators for community and events activities, ensuring that targets are met and ROI maximised.
- Ensure that gift aid is maximised wherever possible.
People & Relationships
- Manage, motivate and develop the Mass Fundraising Officer.
- Manage office and events volunteers including maintaining a volunteer database.
- Build positive, collaborative relationships within the organisation, NHS Trust and wider community to support income generation.
Staff Management
Carry out all line management duties in line with organisational policy and procedure, including:
- Managing health and safety of staff
- Diversity and inclusion – encouraging an inclusive environment
- Recruiting and inducting good quality staff
- Motivating and supporting staff to achieve high performance, including conducting regular 121s and timely appraisals
- Proactively addressing performance, conduct or other employee relations issues.
Marketing & Communications
- Create engaging materials and content to inspire participation in fundraising activities, with a focus on crafting authentic, impactful supporter stories, and distribute this content effectively.
- Ensure Community and Events webpages are kept up to date and maximised to encourage sign ups.

Often people are surprised that hospices rely so heavily on donations to deliver such essential services, but every day we need to raise £12,000 just to keep the hospice running.
As Marketing & Communications Manager you will play a key role in raising the profile of the hospice, helping our community to better understand the services we offer. You will manage all of the hospice’s internal and external communications channels, finding creative ways to engage patients and their families, supporters, staff and volunteers.

To be successful in this role, you will be experienced in using MS Dynamics, PowerBI and a CRM in a charity context. You will also need to have hands-on experience of managing office networks and an IT helpdesk. You will have managed IT and data systems and Microsoft ecosystems, and you will have broad knowledge of cloud-based systems including Microsoft Azure, InTune and Amazon AWS.

The overall responsibility of the People and Culture Administrator role is to support the smooth running of the Foundation’s People & Culture function. The role is responsible for the administration support to the People & Culture business area, specifically the business partnering team.
The People & Culture Administrator will play a key role in handling people processes, employee records and provide general HR support, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. The role will work collaboratively with the Talent Co-ordinator and People Operations Analyst to ensure the full spectrum of the People & Culture directorate is functioning effectively and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
People/HR Administration
- Maintain and update employee records and HR databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Liaise with the People Business Partners to prepare HR documents, such as contracts, carry out suitable checks (such as OH and DBS) and take up references.
- Assist with People Operations Analyst with reporting, including tracking key metrics such as absence, turnover, and compliance.
- Support the administration of People policies, procedures, and processes.
- Handle general People/HR queries from employees, utilising suitable technology to track, escalate and close off queries.
- Produce and send HR related letters and correspondence as required.
- Develop and oversee an adequate, effective, and efficient electronic filing system for storing employee information

About the role
The Children's Society (TCS) has been helping children and young people in this country for over 140 years. As our Senior Supporter Insight Analyst you will play a pivotal role in The Children's Society's transformation into an ever more audience centric and insight led organisation.
This is a pivotal time to join The Children's Society as we are about to embark on the biggest fundraising campaign in the charity's history to ensure we can meet our 2030 goal to overturn the damaging decline in children's wellbeing.
In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that we our able to track and automate our campaign KPIs and translate that data into robust insight for our stakeholders. We are about to migrate our data to OneLake in Fabric and you will be pivotal in gathering stakeholder requirements for tracking the performance of our major appeal and work together with the supporter insight analyst to generate a suite of live dashboards in PowerBi. You'll work together closely with stakeholders to ensure that dashboards meet requirements and help to increase data literacy by running regular sessions with stakeholders to review and interrogate the data.
Alongside delivering automated reporting you will also be responsible for delivering deep dive analysis on key fundraising activities, campaigns and supporter journeys.
