About the role

We’re looking for a Human Resources Advisor with strong experience in employee relations and policy development to join our People Team. In this role, you’ll work closely with the HR Business Partners and act as the escalation point from our People Operations Team, offering comprehensive, pragmatic people advisory services across the organisation. You’ll support colleagues and managers on a wide range of HR topics, including employee relations, recruitment, and policy improvement.

This is a key role that doesn’t involve direct management responsibilities, but you will play a pivotal part in coaching and advising managers and colleagues. We’re looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to handle complex HR cases with confidence and professionalism.

You’ll be joining a collaborative team committed to improving people processes and enhancing workforce diversity and inclusion.

What will I be doing?

• Provide first-line people advisory support, managing employee relations issues such as performance management, grievances, and absence management.
• Assist with complex HR casework and organisational change programmes, including restructuring and redundancies.
• Collaborate with hiring managers to ensure an inclusive and diverse recruitment and selection process.
• Liaise with the People Operations Team to ensure all people changes are accurately reflected in our systems and payroll.
• Support the development and implementation of our People policies and processes across the organisation.

Senior Legal Advisor (Procurement & Fundraising)

Commercial Contracts Lawyer (for Procurement contracts and  Fundraising).

We have an exciting full-time, permanent opportunity for a Senior Legal Advisor to join our Legal Services Team. A small, dedicated team of Lawyers central to the work of Mencap across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. We work closely with Mencap’s Teams and Directorates across the organisation to ensure that they operate safely and securely, and providing advice on complex issues.

At Mencap, we offer flexibility about where the role is undertaken. For this role, a presence in Peterborough is preferable where possible, but the individual would be required to attend team meetings in our Peterborough office once a month. Occasionally, it will be necessary to travel nationwide.

The Senior Legal Advisor will provide high quality commercial contracts and documentation, advice and assistance to support all Directorates across Mencap, as part of Mencap’s internal procurement process and Fundraising Teams. 

The Senior Legal Advisor will be required to work with different Teams and Directorates across Mencap to draft suitable and robust commercial contracts (including IT contracts); and standard terms and conditions; or review third party’s contracts and terms.  Similarly, will be required to negotiate contracts and provide advice for the Fundraising Teams, and ensuring regulatory compliance and radar scanning for changes in law which impacts fundraising.

The Senior Legal Advisor will represent the Legal Services Team on a number of Panels and Committees, such as the Procurement Panel, and would be the lead point of contact with the Legacy Team.

Qualifications:

For this role you would need to be a Solicitor or Barrister qualified to practise in England (or comparable jurisdiction) preferably holding a practising certificate. Previous in-house experience would be viewed positively.

Essential key skills, experience & abilities required for this role:

· 5+ years PQE and experience in commercial contract law

· Excellent drafting and negotiation skills

· Solid awareness of GDPR provisions

· Experience and good technical expertise in contract law and IT agreements

· Experience and good technical expertise in and awareness of regulation effecting fundraising agreements would be beneficial

· Analytical thinker and problem-solving skills.

· Confident and effective communicator across all levels and understand how to share insights with stakeholders.

The Senior Legal Advisor will provide high quality commercial  contract drafting; advice and assistance  to support the Personal Support (PS) Service Teams with the  tendering and contracting  process;  working with different Commissioning Authorities of Social Care Services; and with the provision of suitable housing agreements

The Senior Legal Advisor will be required to review the tenders and contract terms in relation to the majority of PS contracts , some of which are multi million pound framework agreements, and put in place Direct Funding Contracts.  In relation to Housing arrangements, the candidate will review and advise on Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Housing Management Agreements (HMAs) with Housing Associations and other Housing Providers.

Purpose of the job 

This role is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding individual to join the UK Youth Fundraising team. • Ensure all donations are accurately recorded and recognised, working closely with the finance team

• Keep up to date with trends, research and data on fundraising and corporate partnerships, helping to inform long-term strategy

Experience we're after

• Demonstratable experience in a sales or corporate fundraising role, working on six – seven figure proposals
• Proven track record of corporate partnerships fundraising/ securing sales targets from new organisations
• Experience of working in a busy and deadline-driven environment and achieving ambitious targets
• Experience negotiating, pitching and presenting to senior (C-suite) internal and external stakeholders

 This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior HR Admin transitioning to managing an HR standalone function. This is an interim full-time role based in Farringdon, with occasional travel to Bristol. You will have the opportunity to significantly contribute to the development of the HR function at Deighton Pierce Glynn (DPG).  The role supports all aspects of HR administration, the activities relating to recruitment & development, diversity & inclusion, promoting positive employee relations, reward, wellbeing and helping to ensure relevant HR policies and procedures are understood and followed. You will have the opportunity to work with the DPG team and the Senior HR Consultant, collaboratively, to develop the HR function, putting in place more structure and consistency at DPG.  You will also have the chance to undertake HR initiatives that help deliver the DPG People and Culture objectives.

You will have the ability to truly grow and develop within the role as you will be the main HR contact for all HR matters, with support from the Managing Partner, Practice Manager and HR Consultant.

Requirements:

• At least 2-4 years’ experience in a Senior HR Admin role with some generalist background including supporting ER cases.

Stoll is the lead provider of housing and support services in the Veterans sector.  Founded in 1916, Stoll has provided a sanctuary to help Veterans rebuild their lives for over 100 years. We are currenty undertaking a major transformation programme across all of our operations, including, but not limited to, resource identification across our services, reviewing software use, realigning workflows across our infrastructure, whilst upgrading systems and improving processes. You’ll also:

• Act as central point of contact for any general enquiries into the Global Internal Communications and Engagement team. 
• Support the delivery of the global moments content plan incorporating key global priorities such as Diversity, Equity & Empowerment (DEE), wellbeing, our values etc. 
• Create engaging content, including writing stories for our global intranet and creating visual assets, such as videos, posters and the global newsletter.
