Wicksteed Park, in Kettering, Northamptonshire, is one of the UK's oldest leisure parks, founded in 1921 by Charles Wicksteed. Role Outline

The Head of Fundraising will be instrumental in the instigation, implementation and completion of the Trust’s long term funding strategy. This important role leads on the Trust’s approach to individual giving, legacies, campaigns and community fundraising. The role plays an important part in raising vital unrestricted income and will act as the connection point with our loyal supporters. The role will lead and develop a fundraising team, working closely with the Community and Heritage team and volunteers.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced fundraiser with demonstrable experience at a senior level, with strong communication and relationship building skills. 

This is a full-time position on a temporary contract for an initial period of three years, with potential to become a permanent position.  Wicksteed Park operates a 40-hour working week, primarily based onsite. Consideration will be given to requests for flexible working.

Salary: £48,000 per annum

We are looking for a dynamic individual to work as part of our Rehab Team to assist with a range of administration tasks and session support, support clients during workshops and with other admin tasks, be the first point of contact for all new enquiries and to carry out tasks allocated by the Rehab Team Lead

On the job training will be provided at all times to help develop your skills and knowledge.

Following the successful completion of the probation period, the post holder will be required to undertake a self-study Brain Tree Training Course, called Cognitive Rehabilitation for Professionals which will be paid for by Headway Surrey. Assignments, exercises, and self-tests are included throughout the coursework—some of which are mailed or emailed to course tutor for feedback.

Training on Headway Surrey’s CRM database, Charitylog will be given.

A clean driving licence must be held. Car mileage allowance for travel to meetings in connection with work

JOB PURPOSE:

The main purpose of the role is to:

A Rehab Team member will play a key role in achieving Headway Surrey’s objectives by working alongside the Rehab Team to achieve our vision and mission:

Vision - To be known as the go to place for acquired brain injury in Surrey.  Supporting people in Surrey from all circumstances with traumatic and acquired brain injury, their carers, and families, are supported to improve their quality of life by optimising recovery and maximising independence.

Mission – Headway Surrey supports people with head injuries, their families, and carers, and promotes understanding of the implications of head injury throughout Surrey.

ROLE OVERVIEW 

The key areas of responsibility include:

To support centre sessions which run on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10.00 am to 2.30 pm, under the direction of the Rehab Team Lead and with the assistance of volunteers.

• Prepare cognitive tasks for clients
• Support clients to complete tasks
• Help to present educational brain injury workshops
• Facilitate conversation and encourage clients to follow centre guidelines for appropriate behaviour
• Support the Rehab Team Lead to facilitate other sessions throughout the day, which may include art, boardgames, discussions

To attend team meetings, planning sessions and rehab meetings as required, either in person or via Zoom.

To be the first point of contact for new enquiries and to provide administrative support to enable new enquiries (clients and carers) to access Headway Surrey’s rehab services by:

• Responding to all enquiries (telephone, letter, email or online referral forms) for support services
• Accurately recording all enquiry details and documentation on the CRM
• Ensuring all enquiries are followed up in a timely manner and chased up accordingly
• Collecting and gathering documentation
• Supporting clients to complete Brain Injury ID Card application forms, issued by Headway UK.
• Liaising with Adult Social Care and signposting to other agencies/services where appropriate

 INITIALLY

To undertake an induction program given by the Services Manager or CEO.  Observation of sessions, training on CRM, telephone system and other processes/systems.

OTHER TASKS

As a small organisation we plan carefully, but sometimes, medical and unplanned absences may present themselves.  We may need you to cover / help the team.  Training will be given, so that you are prepared for these eventualities.

To provide occasional support in the wider administration duties of the organisation as directed by the Service's Manager.

We want to work collaboratively with young people themselves by supporting them to be researchers and using photography and running workshops to explore important issues. At the end of the project, we’ll share our findings and explore the next steps for further research to put ideas into action.

We’re looking for two Peer Researchers to join the study. A Peer Researcher is someone who has personal experience and knowledge about the topic and helps shape the research.

Peer Researchers will work closely with the team, lead various parts of the project, engage with young people, run workshops, and help develop the project’s findings.

About the Role

The Connection at St. Martins is based in the heart of London, in the most concentrated area of rough sleeping in the UK.  We have an ambitious strategy to tackle rough sleeping in central London with those people who are most persistently on the streets. Building relationships of trust with clients is at the heart of our work.  To achieve this in practice, we have a fully trauma informed approach across the whole charity with psychologists embedded in our service delivery teams.

Alongside running our busy day centre at Adelaide Street by Trafalgar Square, we are developing our access to accommodation.  This includes a project to extend our scheme in Clapham with a new building during 2025.  The extension will provide 3 additional studio flats and activity spaces.  This is the first in a longer term goal to introduce more accommodation into our service portfolio so that we can house an additional 300 of our Adelaide Street clients by 2028.  We are also keen to develop our links into health, through partnerships with the NHS and other treatment services.  Finally, we would like to further improve our offer for women and for people with No Recourse to Public Funds. 

The Director of Services is a vital role for us and this is an incredibly exciting opportunity for someone who shares our passion for addressing rough sleeping.  The successful candidate will be ambitious and tenacious in developing high quality services and growing our support.  They must be able to build really strong relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders alongside bringing extensive experience from homelessness, mental health, addiction or the criminal justice sector.

The Role

The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for providing strategic leadership across finance and the broader strategic growth of the BBFC. Reporting into the Chief Executive Officer and as part of the ELT, your responsibilities will be as follows:

• Lead the delivery of all required financial resources and advice to enable the highest quality services to internal and external stakeholders
• Lead and engage in strategic discussion and decision-making as member of the Executive Leadership Team and other governance committees
• Work with internal and external stakeholders in the roll-out of the BBFC’s new AI tool and commercial trading subsidiary
• Provide management information and analysis of the BBFC’s actual and forecast financial performance, providing a business partnering service to colleagues; producing concise and meaningful commentary on performance against agreed targets and comprehensive risk analysis
• Manage the BBFC finance team (2 staff), supporting in mentorship, training and skills development
• Build and contribute to external networks and commercial partnerships, building on BBFC’s reputation, and ensure that BBFC learns from and builds on best practice
• Accountability for the organisation’s financial accounts and the other statutory financial information
• Act as the main point of contact for external Auditors, HMRC, Banks, Investment Managers, Suppliers and any other appropriate body to ensure the BBFC’s financial and commercial interests are protected
• Ensure compliance with current UK legislation, including the Companies Act, HMRC regulations, and any other relevant legislation. Maintain a register of policies

About You

• You will be an experienced Finance Director, Chief Financial Officer or equivalent.
• You will be a qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent) or qualified by experience with extensive relevant experience in a similar role
• You will have experience in operating at executive leadership level, including working closely with C-Suite level individuals and Board members to oversee financial strategy for an organisation
• You will be proactive in identifying solutions and be able to make decisive values-based decisions
• Experience of working with investors and raising funds desirable

About the role:

The Advancement Operations team are currently looking for a new Database Assistant to provide essential database support for the team and particularly for the maintenance and updating of accurate Membership gifts and records.

The Database Assistant will support the Data Manager: Membership in working to a schedule of activity to provide stakeholders with accurate data. This role will also liaise with the Database Manager and the Membership Services team on a regular basis to discuss and investigate data issues. The integrity of the fundraising database is essential to providing excellent donor care and supporting the donor journey.

Key areas of responsibility:

• To maintain and update confidential data accurately on the Raiser's Edge fundraising database. A significant amount of data entry work is required.
• To assist the Data Manager: Membership in the process of Membership renewals and the management of Membership Direct Debits, which includes reconciling data from an external service provider against Raiser's Edge, adjusting records, cleaning and spotting exceptions.
• To be responsible for data integrity in Raiser's Edge and help maintain data documentation, especially in relation to Membership, donor and prospect data.
• To assist the Data Manager and the Gifts and Planning team in the processing of donations such as cheque or card payments.

About you:

• Educated to GCSE level, or above.
• Strong IT skills with a good understanding of databases and a prior experience of using spreadsheets or data entry.
• An active problem solver with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy office environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
• Ability to evaluate and improve repetitive tasks and procedures.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Project Assistant to support INQUEST’s National Lottery Heritage Fund project, Unlocking the INQUEST archive: memorialising death and resistance. This project encourages engagement with the INQUEST archive and memorialises state-related death and resistance through creative outputs including: 12-month consultation, artist’s residency, banner making, small scale events, archival research, film screenings and a podcast series.

Organised, motivated by logistics, system-orientated, able to react efficiently to pressure, change and multitasking, the ideal candidate will possess outstanding communications skills necessary to liaising with a varied audience, including bereaved families and other key project stakeholders. They will be experienced in handling telephone calls, email correspondence, administration systems, and key IT software packages. Working closely with the project manager and project staff, they will support all components of our heritage project, including organising events and travel, liaising with key stakeholders, project social media and general administration. • Demonstrates strong financial literacy and business acumen.
• Develop and oversee food strategy for Pecan’s food services, implementing the vision to end the need for food banks, re‑imagining the food services offer and including a cash-first approach.
• Develop and manage partnerships with authorities, corporates, churches, community groups and networks to support the successful development of programmes.

Job Aim:To work with the Youth Project Coordinator to provide a fun, engaging and exciting programme of activities for young people across the economically disadvantaged but beautifully diverse E6 area within the London Borough of Newham. You will assist in delivering against the partnerships successful EMPOWER youth services commissioning bid to Newham Council. The service provides 10 weekly universal activities across East Ham over 49 weeks of the year for young people aged 9-19 including:

• Three outdoor MUGA sports sessions per week.
• Three youth hub session per week which includes branched off projects such as Junior Gym, screen acting, Muay Thai, healthy cookery sessions, calming crafts and sports.
• EKO Pathways after school delivery sessions, helping to support children with social, emotional, behavioural and mental health needs.
• Outdoor parks MUGA session
• Year-round trips and residentials
• Youth Theatre
• Delivery of three-week summer holiday scheme which involves volunteering placement with accredited Sports Leadership Award for 30 participants and employment for additional young people. This includes Stepping Up life skills training and social action campaign planning workshops.

You will lead the delivery of BDCA’s Youth project, in line with our commissioning contract with Newham Council’s Youth Empowerment Service. Our project provides the following youth activities in East Ham over 49 weeks of the year for young people aged 9-19:

• Three outdoor Multi Use Games Area sports sessions per week in BDCA’s sports field.
• Three indoor youth hub sessions per week in BDCA’s sports pavilion, which includes workshops such as Junior Gym, screen acting, Muay Thai, healthy cookery sessions, calming crafts and sports.
• Weekly EKO Pathways after school youth club session specifically supporting children who have been excluded from mainstream education due to social, emotional, behavioural and mental health needs.
• Two outdoor parks MUGA session.
• Weekly Youth Theatre Club, led by a local acting workshop facilitator.
• Three-week summer holiday scheme for up to 120 children per day.
•  Annual ‘Stepping Up’ youth leadership programme offering training/ mentoring/ paid work experience / accredited Sports Leaders Awards for up to 30 young people each summer.
• Several offsite trips and residentials throughout the year - as often as match funding allows.
