About the Department

The Development and Alumni Office is a small, dynamic team responsible for building a culture of support for Goldsmiths, whether that is through philanthropy, volunteering or advocacy. Our fundraising activities support highly impactful projects that change lives and even save lives, and that reflect Goldsmiths’ values of civic engagement, social inclusion and educational excellence. 

The Alumni Relations and Regular Giving programme aims to build relationships that inspire alumni, colleagues and friends to support Goldsmiths through donations or volunteering. Through our multi-channel regular giving campaigns, we seek donations via single gifts, monthly direct debits and legacy gifts.

About the Role

This role will work closely with the Head of Alumni Relations and Regular Giving to implement the individual giving and legacy fundraising programme that will increase funds raised to support education at Goldsmiths.

The postholder will responsible for the project management of and writing copy for individual giving and legacy fundraising campaigns, and donor stewardship communications, via email, web, social media, and/or direct mail. 

About the Candidate

You will be able to demonstrate an entrepreneurial approach to identifying new opportunities and developing ideas. You will also be able to demonstrate the ability to project manage fundraising campaigns and build personal relationships with alumni donors. You will be skilled in writing engaging fundraising copy for email, web and print. Ideally you will have experience of individual giving and/or legacy fundraising from the Higher Education or Not for Profit sector. However transferrable skills from exceptional candidates looking to move into the Higher Education sector are also welcomed.

About the Role

The Connection at St. Martins is based in the heart of London, in the most concentrated area of rough sleeping in the UK.  We have an ambitious strategy to tackle rough sleeping in central London with those people who are most persistently on the streets. Building relationships of trust with clients is at the heart of our work.  To achieve this in practice, we have a fully trauma informed approach across the whole charity with psychologists embedded in our service delivery teams.

Alongside running our busy day centre at Adelaide Street by Trafalgar Square, we are developing our access to accommodation.  This includes a project to extend our scheme in Clapham with a new building during 2025.  The extension will provide 3 additional studio flats and activity spaces.  This is the first in a longer term goal to introduce more accommodation into our service portfolio so that we can house an additional 300 of our Adelaide Street clients by 2028.  We are also keen to develop our links into health, through partnerships with the NHS and other treatment services.  Finally, we would like to further improve our offer for women and for people with No Recourse to Public Funds. 

The Director of Services is a vital role for us and this is an incredibly exciting opportunity for someone who shares our passion for addressing rough sleeping.  The successful candidate will be ambitious and tenacious in developing high quality services and growing our support.  They must be able to build really strong relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders alongside bringing extensive experience from homelessness, mental health, addiction or the criminal justice sector. 

Our Director of Services will: 

• Ensure excellent service delivery which reflects our Theory of Change; 
• Deliver the charity’s Service Quality and Development strategy; 
• Take forward our emerging accommodation models and our links into health services; 
• Provide financial management and secure resources for service delivery; 
• Work with the Board and the Service Quality and Development Sub Committee, sharing progress against objectives and reporting results;

We are seeking someone with great administrative and people skills to join our friendly team to support our Administration and Supporter Relations functions while being the welcoming face of Yeldall Manor. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with excellent attention to detail and a passion for helping others to join a Christian organisation dedicated to supporting men in their recovery.

As the Administration Assistant and Receptionist, you will provide crucial administrative support for matters relating to supporters and their donations, helping to ensure smooth communication and effective fundraising efforts. Your responsibilities will include managing supporter records, processing donations, and providing general administrative assistance to the Administration and Supporter Relations Manager. As the first point of contact for visitors, callers, and residents, you'll warmly welcome guests and help direct enquiries as needed, and handle reception duties with professionalism. This involves managing the reception desk, including liaising with volunteers who assist with that function, accessing calendars, sending emails, and performing other basic administrative tasks to keep the front office running smoothly.

Yeldall Manor is a Christian organisation, and this role requires a committed Christian faith to meet the occupational requirements (in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010). We ask all staff to engage with and support our residents in their recovery journey, offering encouragement in both practical and spiritual matters.

This is a full-time, permanent position (40 hours per week). We may consider part-time applicants (i.e. 4 days a week) for the right candidate. Support Worker (Substance Misuse)

We are looking for someone mature, motivated and caring to provide tailored person-centred support to our residents in their recovery journey. If you have a heart to see people overcome substance misuse - to reset, recover, and restore their lives - please join our dynamic team.

You will be providing one-to-one and group support to men who are overcoming substance abuse issues, helping them to achieve their personal goals in all areas of life (behaviour, health, housing, employment, faith etc.). You will therefore have great inter-personal skills and the ability to implement firm but caring boundaries. In addition, you will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks, including updating care plans and risk assessments, writing progress reports for funders, and processing leave and visit applications.

This is a full-time, permanent role for 40 hours per week, including occasional evenings and weekends (part-time work could be considered for the right candidate).

We're looking for a kind, compassionate and resilient person to help and support our clients in their healthcare needs as they rebuild their lives after substance misuse.

You will be responsible for coordinating healthcare services for our male residents undergoing drug and alcohol treatment, including medication management, accessing GP and specialist services, and promoting overall wellbeing. The role involves both administrative and practical tasks, as well as direct involvement in helping residents manage their own healthcare needs alongside supporting their wider recovery and spiritual growth.

Whilst this is not a hands-on nursing role, a background in healthcare would be ideal, along with strong organisational and IT skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with medical professionals, with a commitment to providing high-quality and compassionate care and support.

We are looking for a well-organised and caring professional with excellent administration skills to support our Healthcare Coordinator in overseeing the medication and healthcare needs of our male residents as they progress through their recovery from drug or alcohol abuse.

The role involves both administrative and practical tasks, as well as direct involvement in helping residents manage their own healthcare needs alongside supporting their wider recovery and spiritual growth.

You will maintain safe Medication Management within Yeldall Manor, ensuring that all medication including new supplies, is correctly administered, recorded accurately, and regularly audited, investigating and resolving any discrepancies. With the Healthcare Coordinator, you will assist the residents in accessing GP and specialist services, and ensuring that up to date electronic records are maintained of all healthcare matters for residents.

You will have excellent administrative and IT skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with medical professionals, along with a commitment to providing high-quality and compassionate care and support. Medical knowledge may be advantageous, but is not a necessity for this role.
