Job Title: Independent Domestic Violence Advocate

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate supporting women and children who are impacted by domestic violence. You will work closely with victims of domestic abuse from the point of crisis, to provide high quality independent advocacy and support to survivors of domestic abuse at the highest risk and their children.

The role will be part of increasing the ability of partner agencies to recognize, reject and respond appropriately and safely to all forms of gender-based violence (including domestic violence, sexual, financial, and emotional abuse, female genital mutilation, forced marriage and honor-based violence).

Purpose of role:

To work in partnership with the Head of Training and Qualifications and other colleagues to ensure effective delivery, monitoring and Internal Quality Assurance of Bild BTEC qualifications including Certificates and Diplomas.

Role Summary:

The Qualifications Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of Qualifications & Diplomas throughout BILD and the RRN and to assist with the vision of becoming the qualification provider of choice for Learning Disability and/ or Autism Professionals and Providers.

The Qualifications Coordinator will lead on Internal Quality Assurance and other processes to ensure that the requirements of awarding bodies/assessment centres are fully met. 

The Head of Programme is responsible for leading a respective programme within Impact on Urban Health. 

Supporting the Director of Programmes, the role is responsible for translating agreed programme strategies into deliverables which help design, deliver and manage their respective programme team’s operational initiatives.  

The role works collaboratively with the IoUH leadership to deliver IoUH strategy, promote the Foundation’s values and shape a positive culture.  

Team leadership 

• Manage a matrix working team including providing line management support to a team of Portfolio Managers.  
• Assign roles and responsibilities ensuring clear accountability across teams. 
• Motivate, enable and offer pastoral guidance and support to team members.  
• Undertake formal line management responsibilities such as performance tracking, annual reviews and personal development plans.  
• Lead or support team recruitment as required, including onboarding of new starters. 
• Promote the Foundation’s values and behaviours in all aspects of work. 

Programmes 

• Work with Director of Programmes to aid effective programme oversight and act as the first point of contact for support requests from the programme team. 
• Responsible for managing respective programme budgets and managing the journey between programme stages. 
• Focus day-to-day operational management and execution of programmes, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.  
• Enable close working and effective relationships with innovation colleagues to incorporate innovative practices and launch new programmes or programme strands.  
• Build and maintain relationships with partners and key external stakeholders 

Evaluation and learning 

• In partnership with the Data, Evaluation and Learning Team: 
• Maintain and sharpen a culture of strategic reflection, learning and evidence-based decisions across the programme portfolio. 
• Guide teams, partners, and contractors in routinely and systematically distilling insights for programme operations and wider influencing. 
• Make sure that our programme evaluation tools and processes are fit for purpose. 

Portfolio Manager support 

• Retain responsibility for execution of limited portfolio where necessary and support Programme Managers to pick up any delegated projects as required. 
• Assure quality of project design, delivery and learning to meet standard of excellence. 
• Empower idea generation and ensure alignment with strategic programme direction. 
• Support Director of Programmes to oversee investment process, including being accountable for programme proposals being submitted for internal investment approval. 

Communications and indirect influencing 

• Work with Communications and Influencing colleagues to design and implement a programme of communications that achieve insights sharing and influencing objectives. 

Corporate responsibility 

• Support Director of Programmes in managing programme’s impact and spend performance. 
• Support Director of Programmes in satisfying governance and accountability requirements (business unit meetings, business plan, risk register, reforecasts, etc.). 
• In conjunction with the Director of Programmes, co-ordinate the programme’s contribution to the business planning process. 
• Support the Director of Programmes in the delivery of programme OKRs.

Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust Team Members, this is an exciting role leading on the delivery and development of creative and exciting literacy initiatives and an ambitious Reading Strategy at HMP Stoke Heath, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.

This role is subject to contract award and will be prison-based.

About the Role

• The London Hotel is a bespoke and time limited housing project, with 16 en-suite rooms, delivered by Westminster City Council and The Connection at St Martins. The accommodation is run from a hotel in Paddington, that has a staff office and a key work room.
• The aim of the service is to deliver a wrap-around support offer to entrenched rough sleepers, with multiple unmet needs, and who would otherwise struggle to access accommodation. The expectation put on those moving into the service is that they will be given a period of time to stabilise with health and wellbeing input and will then work towards a longer-term accommodation offer with us.
• The service provides food daily, as well as toiletries and offers other areas of support (aside from health and accommodation move on) around financial inclusion, substance dependency, obtaining ID and navigating criminal justice involvement.
• In this role, you will provide direct support to the residents of the hotel generally, as well as holding a small case load of residents who you will keywork.
• You will work closely with external partners to develop support networks around the residents and will make referrals into the relevant services. Alongside this you might need to accompany people off-site to appointments and coordinate the network around them to meet their needs. You will also need to facilitate external partners accessing the site, so they can provide support to residents.  
• Your focus when working with people will be to support them to develop a move on plan, so they can move from the hotel, into longer term accommodation. This is alongside the day to day running of the service as well as facilitating the maintenance of a trauma informed environment and dynamically responding to people’s needs.
• This is a fixed term role until 31st March 2026

The Role

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and experienced support worker to join our Young People Support Team based in Hackney. You will provide client directed, person centred support to help young people achieve personal goals and aspirations for independent living, training, employment, and education. Would you like to be involved in this new opportunity to support young people in Swansea develop the skills needed for the world of work?

Believe: Positive Destinations is a 12 week work readiness programme for young people aged 16 to 25.  The programme, part funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, has been developed specifically for young people who have little or no experience of the world of work. It is a holistic programme, it will support them to develop workplace skills, build their aspirations, increase self-confidence as well as providing them with strategies to manage their wellbeing. 

As the Project Co-ordinator you will assist the CSM with the development of this new service. This will include building a network of work placement providers and referral sources. You will be the main contact for placement providers and will provide direct support to participants to ensure they are achieving their potential. You will be responsible for delivering the programme to cohorts of up to 8 participants.

What does the job role involve:

• Promotion of the service at networking events and online.
• Establish a network of appropriate placement providers throughout Swansea and be the main contact for placement supervisors for the duration of the placement.
• Establish links with organisations who will be referring into the service, this will include Education, Leaving Care and NEET services.
• Delivery of a 12 week work readiness programme to cohorts of up to 8 participants including the delivery of Agored Cymru accredited units.
• Supporting young people to achieve their development goals.
• Responsibility for gathering and collating relevant data and contribution to report writing as per the request of the service manager and the commissioner of service.
• Tracking service user progress through the use of outcomes scoring over the duration of the programme and after exit, using a young person centred approach.
• Provide advice and guidance to PW1s in manager's absence.
• Standard service operating hours will be 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 4.30pm Friday, however the role requires some flexibility around hours as we support young people around their needs.

Essential criteria

• Self-motivated and highly organised.
• Experience of working with young people aged 16 to 25 years in a one to one and group work context.
• Experience of working with young people who are NEET (not engaged in education, employment or training) in a relevant setting.
• Experience of delivering group work programmes.
• Assistance in the development of a service.
• Experience of keeping statistics and writing reports.
• Ability to network and establish strong positive working relationships with partner organisations.
• Experience of mentoring or taking on a leadership role.

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual to generate income for the Olive Tree Cancer Support Group through community and corporate fundraising, principally in Crawley and Horsham and surrounding areas.  This will involve planning and implementing a community and corporate fundraising strategy, engaging with individual donors, community organisations and corporate sponsors to generate a significant level of income to agreed targets and working with the wider team to advance the goals of the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced community and corporate fundraiser who is confident and capable in taking the lead on this key strand of our fundraising stream.  You will be managed by the Centre Manager and supported by the Trustees and will have autonomy on leading on individual donors, community and corporate events and partnerships.

About you:

The ideal candidate will have proven experience of building relationships in a fundraising role, across a variety of audiences resulting in increased income generation.  You will have excellent communication and presentation skills coupled with an ability to inspire and motivate others and engage compassionately with service users.

You will need excellent organisational skills with a good understanding of fundraising targets, as well as strategic thinking ability in combination with good problem-solving skills.  You must be a team player, with a mature, credible and conscientious approach, as you will be part of a small team, working with vulnerable service users, in a key role for the organisation.  You will also be required to assist in day-to-day operations at the Centre.

The flexibility and willingness to work several evenings and weekend days throughout the year and ability to travel independently is essential for this role.

What we’re looking for and main responsibilities:

• Experience working within a charitable environment.

• Ability to lead the strategic and operational management specific to the Olive Tree community and corporate fundraising functions to help deliver agreed income targets.

• Ability to act as an ambassador and build and maintain relationships with individual donors, community organisations and community partners to maximise donations.

• Stewardship of existing and introduction of new corporate relationships, including giving presentations, identifying sponsorship opportunities and supporting at corporate events, to enhance revenue streams.

• Ability to develop legacy fundraising in a sensitive manner.

• Oversight and management of all marketing and fundraising materials for community and corporate events.

• Recruitment and management of fundraising volunteers to assist at events.

• Tracking and recording of income for reporting purposes.

• Liaison with the Communications Administrator to generate fundraising income and boost levels of engagement amongst key audiences.

• Assisting the team with general enquiries and operational matters as required.

• Work onsite as the default mode of work with a degree of flexibility for the right candidate.  Usually based in our Horsham Centre but occasionally working in our Crawley Centre.

You will have the ability to recruit, engage with and train a range of volunteers and will be responsible for overseeing the practical landscaping work and the delivery and assessment of Level 1 City & Guilds qualifications. You will also deliver a wider range of community and education focussed environmental projects alongside the wider team.

We have a new role available for a Part-Time Young People Support Worker to work as part of a team delivering an assessment, support and move on service to vulnerable clients in supported or community based accommodation.

About the Role

As part-time Young People Support Worker you will work under the direction, guidance and support of a manager/senior worker you will be responsible for a caseload of clients as well as share responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of all clients, volunteers and staff in the service.

In accommodation based services you will ensure that the accommodation is properly maintained and support the client to sustain their tenancy and participate in positive and successful move on.

Where the client lives in the community you will ensure that their tenancy is not at risk and that they have the skills and resources to manage and maintain their accommodation.

Key responsibilities include:

· Ensure client safety, wellbeing, and adherence to safeguarding and emergency procedures.

· Deliver high-quality risk assessments, support plans, and one-to-one/group support to build client resilience.

· Foster partnerships with local agencies to support clients while following data protection protocols.

· Engage flexibly and creatively with clients, encouraging their involvement in decisions and participation in activities.

· Support clients in accessing education, training, employment, and volunteering opportunities.

· Maintain health and safety standards, prepare accommodations for new clients, and oversee accurate financial records.

· Collaborate with team members, volunteers, and attend training and meetings as required, ensuring contract compliance.

· Experience working with young people or those affected by homelessness.

· Understanding of the needs of individuals facing homelessness, mental health issues, substance misuse, or the care system.

Our family support workers really focus on what we do at a grass roots level. Providing support to families on a daily basis as well as supporting and coordinating volunteers. Prior work with children and families is advantageous as is some knowledge of bereavement. However, full training and support will be given to the successful candidate.

Bereavement support is a challenging area of work, but also extremely fulfilling whether as a long-term career, or to develop experience and knowledge that can be transfered into other roles within the education, health and social care sectors. Attitude and aptitude are as important as prior skills and experience.

The ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh would also be an advantage to this position or the willingness to learn.
