This is a key role within the organisation and will take on tutoring responsibilities for a caseload of students undertaking the BDA’s professional level 5/7 training. Being part of a team of tutors, you will be expected to input into the development and moderation of our current level 5/7 training programmes. You will also be expected to engage directly with students and be able to build an encouraging relationship that supports them through their training programme much of which is delivered via e-learning. You will assess work completed by students in a timely manner providing constructive and supportive feedback.

Key Responsibilities:

· Supporting the Course Leader in implementing the vision and strategy to achieve the objectives of the organisation.

· To participate in activities associated with the BDA’s Professional level 5/7 training services.

· To tutor a caseload of level 5/7 students and support them with the achievement of their professional training.

· To assess students’ work and participate in standardisation processes and internal moderation procedures.

· To complete documentation associated with logging student progress.

· To actively participate in activities that enable course development, across all accreditation levels.

Ataxia UK is looking for a skilled and dedicated Specialist Ataxia Nurse for our new community-based nursing service, focused on supporting individuals with ataxia in the South West of England. The role is a significant development in expanding access to expert and joined-up ataxia care for the ataxia community, particularly in regions currently underserved by neurologists with expertise in the ataxias. 

As a Specialist Ataxia Nurse, you will provide personalised, face-to-face, and remote support to patients, assisting them in navigating the NHS and social care systems. Your responsibilities will include supporting patients during medical appointments, coordinating essential therapies such as physiotherapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy, and building strong relationships with healthcare professionals to enhance understanding and treatment of ataxia. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of resources and information for the ataxia community. 

We are looking for an experienced nurse with a background in neurology or chronic disease management and a strong commitment to patient advocacy. The ideal candidate will be a clear communicator, capable of working independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Kids in Need of Defense UK is a collaboration between four award-winning, UK based not for profits that specialise in children’s immigration and asylum law. We partner with lawyers and law firms across the UK to provide the highest quality legal advice and representation for free to undocumented children and young people. Central England Law Centre (CELC) is the UK's Largest Law Centre and the lead partner in the KIND UK collaboration. The successful candidate will be working with Central England Law Centre (CELC) on the KIND UK project.

This is a key role for which we’re seeking a suitably qualified and experienced immigration adviser. They will be responsible for providing an excellent frontline service to KIND UK clients, leading on all matters relating to the assessment and triage of new referrals to the service. 

The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities:

• Assess referrals which have been flagged for legal advice by KIND UK administrators, for merit and suitability for the KIND UK project
• Assess and agree the appropriate level of service, making the initial triaging decision on referrals
• Provide internal legal advice on referrals with legal complexities
• Provide one-off advice to prospective clients via telephone and/or email, where appropriate
• Make onward referrals to other suitable immigration advisers and other services, where appropriate

Personal Specification:

Essential:

• OISC L3 or admitted as a solicitor or barrister in the UK or equivalent right to give immigration advice
• Significant post-qualification experience in child, young person and adult immigration and nationality law

About the Role

The Open Government Partnership (OGP) Support Unit (SU) seeks an experienced accounting professional with proven track record  in the non-profit sector to provide finance and accounting services to support the Finance team.  We are looking for an individual with strong understanding of accounting principles, with excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail. 

The consultant will assist with preparing and analyzing financial reports and ensuring that financial records are accurate and compliant with relevant regulations where OGP conducts business. This role involves various accounting tasks, including general ledger entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and assisting with audits. The Consultant will work closely with other finance team members to ensure that financial and accounting systems, controls, and standards are in place to support the organization's overall financial health.

 Ideal candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and experience with  accounting software- Intacct or Netsuite preferred. The consultant can work remotely, with a preference to be based in the Washington, D.C. area, London, or Brussels.

Deliverables and Timeline

Consultant services are required through March 31, 2025, with the possibility of a contract extension. Key deliverables and services to be provided include:

1. General Ledger Maintenance:

   • Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.

   • Maintain and update balance sheet account reconciliations.

   • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

2. Financial Reporting:

   • Prepare draft  financial statements and supporting schedules.

   • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

   • Support compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

3. Accounts Payable and Receivable:

   • Review payables and receivables.

   • Review and post accounts receivable payments.

   • Reconcile bank accounts using the accounting system.

4. Audit and Compliance:

   • Assist the Finance Director with internal and external audits.

   • Support the Finance Director to ensure adherence to internal controls, financial policies, and donor requirement regulations.

   • Maintain accurate and organized financial records for audit purposes.

5. Budgeting and Forecasting:

   • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.

   • Assist with analyzing variances between actual results and budgeted figures.

6. Special Projects:

   • Support special projects and process improvements as needed.

   • Support the implementation of new budgeting software

Agreement and payment

OGP and the Consultant will enter into a service contract as listed in this Terms of Reference. The agreement will start as soon as possible. For services rendered per the description above, the consultant will be issued a contract with a fee of US$60/hour (VAT included) corresponding to about 20 hours per week between October and March. Contract will be for a maximum of 560 hours of work through March 31, 2025, with a ceiling amount of USD $33,600, with possibility of renewal. The consultant will invoice OGP at either monthly or other agreed upon frequency intervals, as preferred, and include details of number of hours worked and description of services rendered per invoice period and banking information. OGP will provide an invoice template.

As Global Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer, you will support PEAS country level MEL teams in fulfilling their learning objectives in relation to delivering our school improvement technical assistance programme to non-PEAS partner schools. The MEL Officer will be part of the Global Technical Team, and will contribute to the team’s primary objectives to boost the efficacy and impact of the organisation's initiatives across Uganda, Zambia, and Ghana.

We are looking for an individual with significant MEL experience, ideally in relation to education programmes in low resource settings of Uganda, Zambia, and/or Ghana. Experience in fulfilling institutional donor requirements is desirable, ideally to include USAID and/or FCDO. 

To be successful in this role you will have strong communication skills, demonstrating the ability to guide, motivate and support members of the wider global MEL team. You will be highly experienced in working with data, and have strong data analysis skills. You will be part of a hard-working, growing and highly effective team who support one another to achieve impact. The Development Trusts Association Wales (DTA Wales) is an independent practitioner-based membership organisation promoting the work of, and supporting the growing network of, community enterprises in Wales. We address some of the most pressing national and global threats to health and wellbeing including climate change, human rights abuses, militarism, nuclear weapons, institutional racism, and rising health and social inequality. We are a member-led organisation, and our members are made up of people who work in health and social care including nurses, doctors, midwives, and clinical researchers. Medact has grown significantly over the last five years and is in an exciting new period as an organisation. As we develop our next five-year strategy we are looking to refine our campaigning and organising practice and grow our membership base to secure long lasting victories in our campaigns for health justice. 

About the role 

The new Executive Director will be responsible for leading the organisation in developing a new strategy to guide us through the next phase growth, while leading the team through an new political climate.

Grants fundraising is of particular importance to the role, and the successful candidate will be the lead person responsible for securing funding for our campaigning and organising work and maintaining strong relationships with donors. 

Our Executive Director will lead an experienced team and an organisation that deeply values collaborative working, consultative decision making, and a commitment to transparency. 

About you

We are looking for someone who is passionate about addressing health, climate, racial and economic injustice and the health impacts of conflict and militarisation, and who understands the vital role that health professionals have in making the connections between these issues and working for peace, to make the world a better, fairer and safer place.

You will have an understanding of the national and international framework within which Medact operates, and you will be able to demonstrate that your values and politics align with those of our organisation. Ideally you will have experience of working in health or with health workers, so that you have an appreciation of the culture within which they work and the potential of their contribution.

You will have strong leadership skills so that, valuing the collaborative approach of our team and respecting varying views, you are able to arrive at clear decisions. You will also have a track record in fundraising in similar fields and a good knowledge of a range of potential supporters.
