Area Event Manager Jobs in Farringdon, Greater London

We are looking for a self-motivated individual to lead our Programmes Team whilst our current Director of Programmes is on maternity leave. The role will be fixed term from December 2024 until January 2026, although there may be further opportunities beyond the length of the contract depending on organisational growth.

The Director of Programmes will be a key member of CoachBright’s Senior Management Team, and will have input on both operational and strategic decision making. Whilst we will expect your input on matters relating to programme delivery and impact, all members of SMT are expected to contribute to decision making across the organisation. As a result, the role is an excellent opportunity to get genuine leadership experience at an educational charity, with the opportunity to report directly to our board of trustees depending on growth in the role.

The primary responsibility for the Director of Programmes will be to recruit school partners for our EEF trial, with delivery beginning September 2025. This trial is to test the impact our Peer to Peer coaching programme (Y10s coaching Y7s) can have on the maths attainment of disadvantaged pupils. The trial will require us to recruit 100 participating schools, 50 of whom will receive the intervention, with another 50 allocated to a control group.

Working alongside the CEO and the Programmes Team Leader, you will create and execute a strategy to recruit new schools as participants to this trial. As a result, experience of managing sales or partnerships with schools, or existing connections with senior leaders at secondary schools and multi-academy trusts, would be beneficial.

Alongside this, you will line manage our current Programmes Team Leader, who directly line manages our team of Programme Managers. From Sept 2025, we are expecting our Programmes Team to grow, and you will play a key role in recruiting for that expanded team. At that point, we would expect you to begin line managing a small number of Programme Managers directly.

EEF Trial

• Write and execute the strategy to deliver our EEF trial. This will primarily involve recruiting and onboarding 100 schools to participate from January 2025 through to July 2025, for programmes to begin in September 2025.

Leadership

• Be a key member of the Senior Management Team, working alongside the trustees, CEO, Director of People and Operations, and Director of Finance to drive high quality leadership and decision making.

• Work alongside the CEO to develop and define strategic priorities and targets for programmes.

• Align programmes team around organisational strategy and ensure buy in.

• Help create an organisational culture which is supportive, collaborative and embeds learning & continuous improvement across the programmes team.

People Management

• Line manage our Programmes Team Leader, who will directly line manage all of our Programme Managers. We expect the number of team members you directly manage to increase as our Programmes Team grows.

• Support the Programmes Team Leader with development and delivery of programme KPIs and ensure that Programme Managers are delivering effectively and developing in their roles. 

• Identify skills gaps and development needs for the Programmes Team and work with the Director of People and Operations to develop a training plan for the team to support with programme delivery. 

• Deliver yearly performance appraisals for direct reports.

Programme Delivery

• Overseeing the management of programme delivery in schools to meet KPIs, predominantly those related to our EEF trial.

• Leading the implementation of our primary and secondary programme delivery processes. This will include but is not limited to:

  • Staff guides and handbooks: codifying our ways of working.

  • Simplifying and automating tasks via our Monday platform. 

  • Joining up all strands of programme delivery (school induction, launch, training, impact measurement, sessions, graduation and review).

• Ensure that programmes team adhere to CoachBright’s safeguarding, health and safety and GDPR policies and procedures.

• Ensure systems and processes are working for the Programmes Team to effectively deliver programmes.

• Ensure programmes are delivered to a consistently high standard, including ensuring that our quality assurance and impact evaluation frameworks are being used consistently.

• Ensure school relationships are managed appropriately and that termly retention targets are met.

• Oversee the budget for programme delivery including printing cost, room bookings and programme events.

• Carry out other tasks that are within the scope and spirit of the role.

Volunteer recruitment and training

• Alongside the Team Leader, oversee and provide input on our volunteer recruitment plan, in order to deliver our Core programmes. (Distinct from our Peer to Peer programmes, our Core programmes feature undergraduate volunteers coaching, rather than senior pupils).

Programme Design and Impact

• Project manage the development of programme resources including workshops, session plans and launch and graduation materials, particularly those related to the EEF trial.

• Work with our Data & Impact Manager to capture programme impact via feedback forms, Impact Reports and Annual Reports.

Safeguarding

• Act as CoachBright’s National Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).

• Support the National DSL in developing and establishing CoachBright’s organisation’s approach to safeguarding.

• Support the National DSL with the coordination of the distribution of policies, procedures and safeguarding resources throughout the organisation.

• Provide safeguarding advice and support to staff and volunteers.

• Manage safeguarding concerns, allegations or incidents escalated up. 

• Manage referrals to key safeguarding agencies e.g. social services or police of any incidents or allegations of abuse and harm.

Role Summary

The role will support the Development team to successfully raise over £3.5 million annually through fundraising, in addition to a concurrent £19.25m capital campaign. The successful candidate will efficiently manage the day to day running of The Old Vic’s individual giving scheme, reporting to the Head of Individual Giving and working with the Individual Giving Officer to implement and carry out a yearly strategic plan to retain and increase support across all levels of Membership and wider areas of giving.

Areas of responsibility

Individual Giving

• Contribute to developing a strategic plan for individual giving including Membership, small to medium sized donations across all giving channels.
• Assume responsibility for The Old Vic’s philanthropic individual giving Membership scheme, OV Together.
• Retain and increase support by delivering excellent stewardship, including delivery of benefits and events, and communication with donors.
• Generate and convert new donor prospects in order to meet and exceed agreed annual individual giving targets of c. £1.25 million to contribute to the overall Development team target.
• Line manage the Individual Giving Officer, monitoring key performance indicators and objectives to ensure that targets are met.

Administration

• Oversee lists and draft communications going out to individual supporters including season announcements, updates and invitations and segmenting mailing lists when necessary.
• Oversee ticket bookings and catering reservations for supporters and to innovate time-saving new processes for automating bookings and reservations.
• Ensure Membership collateral is regularly updated to deadlines.
• Ensure database records are updated with donations, research notes, Memberships and event attendance.
• Monitor progress against targets, ensuring fundraising costs stay within budgeted expenditure and Gift Aid restrictions.
• Devise and with input from the Events team maintain a system for accurately logging and tracking costs incurred for delivering Membership benefits in line with HMRC and Gift Aid guidelines.
• Ensure that all data complies with procedures for data integrity (e.g. Gift Aid, GDPR and PCI compliance).
• Oversee the processing of monthly and annual Direct Debits by the Individual Giving Officer.
• Support the administration of the American Associates of The Old Vic membership.

Prospecting and New Support

• Identify new routes, channels and audiences to promote other ways of giving amongst existing Old Vic contacts, our database and new prospects.
• Innovate and implement new fundraising projects, such as Tap to Donate scheme, and creating supporting documents (e.g. case for support and rebrand of membership scheme).
• Use data analysis to track Membership trends and prospecting, with support from the Individual Giving Officer, to inform strategy and cultivation efforts for upgrading and recruitment.
• Identify opportunities to further develop relationships with our existing supporters (e.g. cross-sell) and feeding this into strategic plans for Individual Giving.
• Support the Senior Development Operations Manager on the maintenance of a team-wide prospect tracking system and help monitor the solicitation process.

General

• To ensure The Old Vic’s programmes, website and social media are regularly updated with Development information and liaise with Marketing as appropriate in achieving these tasks.
• Contribute proactively to Development team activities.

The Role

FARA is looking to launch the charity’s new Individual Giving programme and is looking for an experienced fundraiser to lead the creation and launch of this.

It is an exciting time for the charity, which helps disadvantaged children, young people, adults and their families in Romania. Building on the initial income opportunities and strategy development work done by fundraising consultants, you will be joining a marketing function with ambitious plans to transform their communications. You will work alongside colleagues across the whole organisation to deliver this work and will have the support of the Director of Marketing and Communications, the CEO and additional support from Nova Fundraising who have already been working with the charity on a consultancy basis.

The Individual Giving Manager will be responsible for:

• Creating systems, structures, activities and messages designed to launch and grow individual giving with an ambition to take the charity’s fundraising income to six figures over three years.
• Using data to inform Individual Giving campaigns, creating powerful messaging to acquire, retain and upgrade donors through digital and offline methods.
• Brief and oversee the work of external agencies, as required, to support the recruitment and engagement of new supporters.
• Oversee and implement stewardship plans and supporter journeys for financial donors, who work alongside those of other supporters to ensure optimum message integration and upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
• Work with colleagues to generate and implement FARA’s email stewardship programme for individual givers.
• Plan, schedule and manage personalised communications with donors.
• Explore other fundraising areas, including events, community, legacy and major donors.

The Person

Are you entrepreneurial, innovative, personable, and collaborative, with experience developing and delivering fundraising programmes?

The role requires a candidate with a strong background in building relationships and identifying and developing new fundraising messages, campaigns and activities from scratch.

This is not a case of picking up a mature programme and running with it (although the organisation does have a small baseline of donors who have been giving for many years). The opportunity is all about creating, testing and learning – to diversify income sources at FARA, utilising the extensive network of supporters it has gained through its 40 charity shops across London.

You will need to be proficient in digital platforms, with experience in building a digital-focused approach to supporter acquisition and donor development. You will play a crucial role in nurturing relationships with individual supporters to make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged children, young people and adults in Romania.

The post-holder will have previous experience in fundraising, ideally experience specifically within IG, however this is not essential and we will consider candidates looking to transition into a new area of fundraising. You will need experience of developing creative fundraising programmes and be excited by the prospect of pursuing new opportunities for the organisation by engaging with existing supporters—many of whom might only have ‘gifted’ the charity via donations of pre-loved clothes and other items to FARA shops.

The needs of veterans, young and old, serving personal and their families are growing and complex. To support them the charity needs to raise awareness and donations.

The Supporter Acquisition team at RBL is responsible for all marketing to attract new supporters across a large portfolio of appeals/products and media.  The charity is seeking a team leader who has significant expertise with a wide range of marketing channels and can really add value to large well-established programmes with their experience, knowledge and drive to continually improve, identify appropriate new opportunities and shape supporter acquisition programmes.

The role involves leading an experienced team of two managers and two co-ordinators, and leading relationships with key suppliers.  The marketing programmes include most significantly face-to-face fundraising (from stands in retail space or expos/outdoor events and door-to-door) and DRTV advertising, plus some print campaigns, payroll giving and 3rd party marketing.  The role will also manage development projects that could include aspects of digital fundraising.  An important part of the role is developing advertising for the nation’s largest charity appeal, the Poppy Appeal each November.

RBL introduced a new fundraising strategy last year called ‘Three Giants’ to focus on protecting and strengthening three vital areas of income generation, the Poppy Appeal, individual giving and gifts in wills.  Now is an exciting time to join the charity to help to implement the strategic change and to be a key stakeholder or lead in a variety of cross-team workstreams.  

As an experienced senior marketing manager, you would hit the ground running to optimally deliver plans with your team, whilst helping to shape programme strategies and review supply requirements.  You will need experience of managing and coaching teams and working in a truly collaborative way with colleagues, teams and suppliers, leading by example in accordance with RBL’s values.

You won’t shy away from complexity and getting to grips with the details of the broad array of appeals/products your team will be marketing and associated systems, budgeting, reporting and KPI measurements for each of them.  You’ll strive for excellence, ensuring campaigns are compelling and effective and will be able to capably resolve issues at a senior level and take on new challenges.

WECare is seeking a Marketing Manager to lead the strategic direction of our digital marketing efforts. Job Purpose

Global Generation is looking for someone who is passionate about working with local communities to create safe, inclusive and inspiring green spaces. As the Story Garden Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Story Garden and our move in October 2025. You will work closely with our community engagement team, to ensure that the Story Garden legacy lives on in Somers Town. You will also manage our small Garden Team, to oversee horticultural, volunteering and community engagement activities at the Story Garden and for a short period of time, after the move, at our new site and/or in a new community hub created in Somers Town.

This role is primarily based at the Story Garden in King’s Cross, working closely with our local community of Somers Town. You will work with the garden team, community engagement team, education & community programmes team, chefs, volunteers and engage people of all ages.

Main duties and responsibilities

Garden planning and management of Story Garden and related projects

• Support garden team with horticultural work, including planning and procurement

• Project manage Story Garden funded projects - responsible for ensuring outputs and outcomes are monitored and met, building strong relationships with and reporting to funders (City Bridge Trust, Future Neighbourhoods Phase 3)

The Governance team are seeking a brilliantly organised and enthusiastic self-starter to make a significant contribution to the College’s involvement in global activities. Alongside a focus on supporting planning activities, the Global and Devolved Nations Coordinator will help coordinate staff and doctors attending national and global events, liaise with our overseas partners and arrange member gatherings. A high level of cooperation and teamwork between staff members is necessary to fulfil this role’s functions effectively and efficiently.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, able to work collaboratively with external customers across time zones, colleagues and senior members.

They will also have first rate administrative and organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise a varied workload. It is important that as a Global and Devolved Nations Coordinator, the successful candidate has a commitment to providing a professional, positive and responsive service, as well as an understanding of cultural differences.
