Job Title: Partnership Events Lead

Purpose: This is a fantastic opportunity to lead on the delivery of interactive activities with volunteers from the world of work aimed at schools and young people for key funded partners.  Alongside event facilitation, the role manages and coordinates delivery of activities to meet agreed KPIs, leading on planning, scheduling and delivering various showcase virtual and face-to-face events and activities.

Remuneration: £27 - £30k per annum depending on experience

Job purpose

Working closely with the Partnership Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading on the delivery of interactive activities aimed at schools and young people under key funded projects for the charity’s Inspiring the Future and Primary Futures programmes. These programmes leverage technology to raise the aspirations and broaden the horizons of children and young people by connecting them to a huge range of volunteers from the world of work via career related learning activities.

The Partnerships team are responsible for relationship management of the key corporate and charity partners for the charity’s Inspiring the Future and Primary Futures programmes. Partners cover a range of sectors and employment areas and our employer partnerships provide partners employees with the opportunity to engage with schools, and reach many children and young people across the UK, both virtually and in-person.

The Partnership Events Lead will be able to manage and coordinate delivery of activities to meet agreed KPIs, leading on planning, scheduling and delivering various showcase virtual and face-to-face events and activities ensuring engagement from schools, employers and volunteers.

Overseeing event delivery – both physical and virtual, this role will have end to end accountability for event management, from coordinating with the schools and volunteers, event briefings, to planning and delivering the event – speaker selection and liaison, school registrations, co-ordinating event logistics and venue management, on-site and virtual delivery, post event feedback and communications etc.

This role will work on partnerships including but are not limited to the Department for Transport’s Inspiring Aviation Campaign, Maritime UK Ambassadors, NHS Ambassadors and events associated with employer partnerships such as Bank of America, Tritax Big Box, Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust and others.

Exact brief to be finalised with the successful candidate but the role will be expected to:

• Work closely with the Partnership Manager role to lead on planning and delivery of any funded projects and activities
• Work to engage employers and volunteers through special activities on funded projects
• Track and report back to Partnership Manager on delivery against agreed targets
• Host and support delivery of CPD sessions, webinars and occasional face to face meetings with stakeholders and schools directly to help them with engaging with these projects and delivering presentations at group meetings and conferences.
• Support development of resources, guidance and tools for employers, volunteers and schools in effectively engaging with projects and programmes
• Responsible for on-site and virtual logistical arrangements as well as audio/visual requirements

The role 

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to work in a small but highly effective charity Fundraising and Partnerships team, generating income to deliver initiatives that will make a real impact on the lives of vulnerable energy consumers?

We have experienced an exponential growth in income from public fundraising leading to an increased awareness of fuel poverty. To build on this success and maintain increased unrestricted income from a wider fundraising mix, we are recruiting a Fundraising Officer to join our knowledgeable and caring team. 

The new Fundraising officer will join a small, friendly, but hardworking team who raise funds from a variety of sources including trust and foundations, corporate partnerships, major donors, events and community fundraisers and individual giving.

What you will need to succeed 

You will have a strong knowledge of fundraising and income generation, and you will play a major part in significantly increasing income growth. Reporting into the Fundraising Manager, you will be a motivated and talented Fundraising Officer who will help us grow our unrestricted income and expand our pool of donors.

You will be required to lead your own portfolio of work, researching and identifying potential new funders, submitting applications and pitching for partnerships and support, as well as building strong relationships with donors.

You should have demonstrable experience of working in a Fundraising role, with the ability to cover the whole spectrum of fundraising duties, thinking strategically and working operationally. 

Your base location is negotiable, but you will be expected to travel across England, Wales and Northern Ireland with overnight stays as required.

Hybrid and home working is subject to necessary H&S and GDPR checks. Post holders must be resident within the UK and be able to provide their Right to Work in the UK. Due to the nature of this role, successful candidates will be subject to a Basic DBS check.  

We are offering:

This post will require a good overall understanding of the needs of older people and their pets.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

i. To welcome new Volunteers to The Trust with a phone call.

ii. Search for Volunteers that would match the requirements of the case.

iii. To listen to the needs of each Owner and accurately record information for each Owner and their pet by completion  of a computerised case. 

iv. Check Volunteer details and the distance they are willing to travel.

v. Check communications to see if a Volunteer has been contacted previously. 

vi. If cases are active use your judgement to see if an Owner would benefit from additional support and if so put processes into effect to find additional Volunteers. If this is the case liaise with Owners to see if they would welcome additional support.

vii. To call and reassure Volunteers during the allocation process. If there are no active cases in the area offer posters/advertising materials to be distributed within the area.

 viii. To assist with reporting on Volunteer assignments.

 ix.To ensure you record all of your communications onto the database in an accurate and timely fashion by way of  comments on each Volunteer case at the end of each conversation and appropriately refer to Management about urgent cases.

 x.To help maintain up-to-date records and mailing lists for Volunteers and Owners throughout the course of your work. 

xi. To have a good working knowledge of other roles and tasks within the team and provide ad hoc support as required  including inputting information.

Case types include; Dog Walking, home checks, Short term fostering, long term fostering, pet care, talks and petprofiling

v. To liaise with all other members of The Trust to help maintain a quality service.

vi. To contribute and liaise with the team by helping to update Volunteer and Owner cases in the course of your communications.

vii. To help maintain filing and filing systems related to your work.

viii. To liaise with all other staff of The Trust in a flexible manner.

ix. To liaise and work with the press team for reverse appeals.

x. To liaise with all Owners, Volunteers and members of the general public in a polite and helpful way.

xi. To be familiar with and adhere to procedures and protocols, disciplinary and applicable rules and ensure compliance  with legislations (Health and Safety, Data Protection, especially the privacy of members, Owners and Volunteers alike).

xii. At all times to ensure and maintain a compassionate, professional and efficient public image for The Trust.

Together with such additional general duties as the Employer shall reasonably require, having regard to the needs of the Employer’s business as a Charitable Trust.

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity to join a small team of dedicated staff that provide a specialist service to service leavers and their families.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate mentor coordinator to join our mentoring service, with the ability to manage and support SSAFA beneficiaries and volunteer mentors. 

You will act as an operational point of contact for your area of responsibility, coordinating, managing and recording the work of all your volunteer mentors. You will conduct specialist needs assessments for potential beneficiaries, then monitor, support and review the mentoring relationships which will involve regular engagement with the volunteers. You will also be tasked with briefing, presenting, and coordinating the engagement of key stake holders in your area of responsibility.

This role is home based with extensive travel across the area the South East of England.

With regular team meetings and a variety of communication mediums you will be given ongoing support, training and mentoring throughout. We are a remote team and well connected to all colleagues. About you

We are looking for an exceptional candidate, who thrives on challenge. A determined, highly motivated individual who can build relationships and reputation, and communicate effectively across the region whilst working from home.  To carry out this role successfully you will be able to work as part of a team, whilst being self-motivated to work independently.  Ideally you will have experience of managing a large geographic area. Excellent communication and IT skills and a good understanding of MS Office 365 including databases are a must. Volunteer/ people management would be beneficial whilst a willingness to learn and a passion for making a difference is essential.

Knowledge of the Armed Forces and Ex-Forces community would be an advantage but is not essential.

The Schools Project Officer is a crucial business administrative role at the Diocese, as you will act as the first point of contact for projects concerning the development and maintenance of school sites and buildings, from senior leaders, governors, parish officers or our professional advisers.

Reporting to the Schools Officer and working within the Children, Young People and Education team, you will support the oversight of related grant funding and manage other bespoke projects such as promoting decarbonisation initiatives for church schools and organising land registrations. You will also advise school leaders and governors in relation to school organisation and the use or development of land and buildings.

As Schools Project Officer, you will act as facilitator between various internal and external teams, providing support through monitoring projects relating to school estates (building developments, maintenance and repairs), whilst making proactive enquiries and interventions to sustain progress against recorded timescales.

You will also take responsibility for managing grants held by the Diocese and liaising with schools regarding suitable projects and available funding, helping schools to prioritise projects for effective estate management.

A crucial part of our strategy is to assess the environmental impact of the Diocese’s church schools, planning for and supporting schools to advance decarbonisation and energy efficiency projects. As Schools Project Officer you will regularly update and signpost church schools to banks of practical materials and resources for decarbonisation campaigns, toolkits and projects, building case studies of best practice.

With an understanding of or experience in business administration, estate management or project support, you should be capable of supporting projects and have the ability to apply understanding to tasks. Capable of summarising complex information clearly, you should be able to explain the progress of projects to those with no specialist understanding.

Forward thinking, adaptable and responsive to a varied work programme, you should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have evidence of recent study, training or development and a willingness to learn new knowledge and technical skills.

It is essential for you to be supportive of the vision of the CYPE team and to be sympathetic to the contribution of Church of England schools to Christian mission.

The ability to travel and a willingness to attend occasional evening and weekend meetings and events is essential.

Who will I be changing the lives of?

Main Responsibilities

• Responsible for the delivery of a pre agreed curriculum for your learners using pre planned sessions for FS Maths & English, Art, Change Workshops & Careers sessions.  Whilst there are teaching resources available it is a requirement of this role that you will tailor the curriculum to the interests and aspirations of the learner that you are working with in order to increase participation and engagement.
